I have received more than one of these calls. They identify themselves as the Social Security Administration and that they suspect fraudulent activity. They identify themselves and it sounds official. Then they ask for your name to verify you and then your social security number. I have never given them my social security number. The, they hang up.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

received a call from a person saying they were from the Social Security Admin. telling me my SS# was used to rent a car which was seized for drugs and that I needed to make an appointment for the Marshalls to come and deliver my new SS#. I cut the phone call short because I had to go back to work but they were asking for my bank account number too. They didn't say how much money they wanted from me but they wanted my bank account information. I called the police who told me to call the BBB. The ScamPulse.com gave me the number to the SSA to check on my SS#.

I received phone call pretdnding to social security administration threatening legal action if i did not give my social security numbet

- Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Computer generated recording stating that the call was from the Social Security Administration and that my SS # was suspended with instructions to dial 1 for more information (which I did not do).

I’ve been receiving calls & automated messages left on my voicemail that there’s some enforcement actions on my social security number and there’s an order to suspend my SSN because of some suspicious activity on my number. They have called me 8 times today. I will not be returning their call. I have provided a screenshot of my message.

- Pensacola, FL, USA

Caller identified himself as being with the SS office and wanted me to confirm my number, name and address. When I told him I thought he was scamming he hung up on me.

- Milton, FL, USA

received a call on 03/29/19 around 920am where caller stated I have a legal problem filed against my SSN and asked me to verify my SSN. I told them if they're calling from SSA then they already have it. I asked for their badge ID # and they provided ID#29150. the caller was non-english speaking and I could hear voices in the background. I asked why they have a foreign accent if they work for a US government agency and they hung up on me

- Little Rock, AR, USA

Contacted via cell phone from a robocaller in California stating that my social security number was in danger of being suspended if I didn't call them back.

The caller said that a legal action had been filed against me for fraudulent use of my social security number. They said I should call them back immediately before they took action.

Consumer received two calls from the Social Security Administration. Both calls were from different numbers. They stated pretty threateningly that the consumers social security number had been suspended due to suspicious activity. We encouraged the consumer to not engage so we do not know what they wanted.

- Sanford, NC, USA

I have been called several times from the above number as well as the following number: 1 (800) 674-2855 claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. They claimed that law enforcement activity was pending against my social security number. (The message left just said to call. The guy I spoke to said it was law enforcement related, which of course, was false). When I called, I suspected a scam but I needed to make sure because I have been a victim of identity theft before. The gentleman barely spoke English. He asked for my name, and read back my address to me. I asked him if it was a scam and he said if I believed it was a scam, to hang up so I did. They called back again (about a minute later) so I called back and told him not to call me anymore or I would see them in court. He then said “Oh, ok. I will [censored] you hard.” I hung up the phone pretty upset and proceeded to report what happened to the real Social Security Administration. Since then, he has called and harassed me 7 times as I type this.

- Roswell, NM, USA

This is from San Antonio Texas. They first call with recorded message saying that you have identity theft with your social. They say call back at number. I called back and you hear a bunch of people in background talking. The lady was foreign but gave me the name of Ella Parker. So I asked her who and what was going on. She started to explain that I had fraud charges and I laughed and she hung up.

- Spring Hill, KS, USA

They have called me 12 times today, and they cursed at me when I asked to be on the no call list. When I reported to them that I was going to contact police, they hung up. They will call off an unknown caller ID and when you pick up it is a robot claiming to be a Police Officer (Officer Gale) saying you have suspicious activity on your Social Security Number and to call back that exact number.

- Gretna, NE, USA

I received two calls on 3/20/19 which I let go to voice mail. Both were from the Department of Social Security Administration notifying me that they had suspended by social security number due to suspicious activity and that I should call them if I wanted more information. I did not call them.

- Anderson, MO, USA

called saying there was illegal activity under my phone number

- Saint Paul, MN, USA

Call is an automated message stating that your social security number has been suspended. When you call the number it lists back to speak with an individual, they identify themselves as the Social Security Administration. When I told them that the SSA does not call people about their numbers, they hung up.

They were calling about legal enforcement action and fraudulent activity. They wanted me to call the number that they had called from.
