I have been getting non stop phone calls from the following number: 18664042496 stating my Social security card has been suspended due to suspicious activity. It asks you to press 1 to get more information. I have been hanging up but they call back and leave automated messages. There is no such thing as having your Social Security card suspended so do not believe anything they say and report it if it happens to you.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be a detective working for the Social Security Administration. He said that his name was Det. Brandon Hammer (India Accent was suspicious in relation to the name he gave) badge # 3RM2546. He claimed that my Social is under investigation for criminal activity in the San Antonio area. He continued to ask me for personal information to verify that he was speaking to the right person. I asked him to send me some information in writing confirming the claims he was making. He insisted that I listen to him and address the issue over the phone. When I told him to listen to me, he became defensive and told me that I could deal with the issue in court and hung up. VERY FRUSTRATING

He told me my social security number had been used for illegal and fraudulent purposes and because of this they were shutting my social security card down. I got a vm from the Social Security Administration asking me to call back. I called the number back. A man answered, he said he was something with Social Security. He sounds foreign, but had an American name, Chris Anderson. The background was a busy call center. He asked me if I had lost my wallet, had I lost my phone, had I recently visited Texas. Then he asked me to verify my birth date, when I paused, he hung up. He's called once since then and left the exact same auto dialer message - auto robotic from the voice of a female: 832-775-8735.

A female, named Megan, from Social Security Administration called me and left a message that there is a legal enforcement filed on your Social Security number for criminal activities under section 18 of subsection 1028. Before this matter goes to the federal court house or before you get arrested, please call 281-603-6621. I called the number and “Megan” answered the phone. She had an Indian accent. She told me my name and address. She wouldn’t reveal how she got my information. She did say that a car was rented in my name and number and it was left abandoned in Texas. She said I’m the one they are looking for and criminal activities have been done using my number. She said she wouldn’t reveal any specific information about the case. I became angry and asked her if I need to file a police report or call a lawyer. She told me to do that if I wanted to, but she tried to talk more about the case. I told her that I wouldn’t be giving her any information and I will take action when I hang up the phone. She gave me her employee number: IRM231276 and another number DC179281. I then hung up.

Called by a person claiming to be with social security. Asked to verify name, DOB and last four digits of SSN. Claimed I was being charged with drug trafficking and money laundering due to use of my SSN with a rental car found in Houston, Tx and banking documents with my name. I eventually became suspicious and found out this was a scam going around. I then asked for his name, employer identification which he gave as Kevin Jones and EIN 25173. When I asked for his location he became more hostile and threatened this would be the only warning I get about this matter. As I pressed for his location he became louder and more aggressive in which I finally told him he was a scam artist and he immediately hung up.

The scammer called me and wouldn't release any information about the call until I gave them my social security number. They told me they were from the Texas social security office and my social security number was going to be suspended because my social security number was tied to a criminal investigation in Texas where they found dna in a car rented under my name and social security number. And that my social security number was tied to accounts for money laundering through three banks. Once I realized it was possibly a scam I hung up.

Received a call from this number identifying themselves as the Social Security Administration (SSA) informing me that my account has been put on hold. They wanted me to provide them my social security number (SSN). I said they were the SSA and should already have that information. At that point they hung up on me. Just for kicks, I called them back and they answer the phone as the SSA and again asked for my SSN; my response was the same as before and they again hung up on me.
