Caller left message that my Social Security number had been suspended due to fraudulent will use and to call them back at the number noted above. I called back they answered as Social Security administration office officer so-and-so speaking how may I help you.

Scammer called my 95 year old mother who resides in a Assisted Living facility and was very intimidating. He said he was calling from the Social Security Administration office and that her social security was suspended. He said she needed to provide information and also pay a fee to get it reinstated or she would not receive any more checks. He also specifically asked for her social security number. I tried to call the number back to tell this jerk off and it said it was "not in service."

- Berwick, PA, USA

The call showed up on my phone as coming from Washington, Maryland but no business name. The man stated he was with the social security administration and wanted my full name, birthdate, address, telephone number, and social security number. I refused to give him that information and stated that he should already have that information if he was indeed truly with the social security administration. He became very rude when I asked for his name, company information, address, and telephone number, and refused to give it to me. I then told him I was recording our call, and reporting it which then he said something rude, and hung up on me.

Two voice messages were left on my cell phone with the following message: "The reason you have received this phone call is because there is a legal enforcement action filed against you on your social security number for criminal activity." When I called the number (and gave them no personal information of mine other than my name), I was transferred to a call center, likely in India, as the two men I spoke to had Indian accents. The first man transferred me to the voicemail of "Sean Peterson," which was the name that was left on my voicemail recording. And then a second Indian man reprimanded me in a stern voice for "taking so long to call back" when there is a legal action pending against me. (I almost laughed out loud at this but kept quiet). After that, the man asked for my cell phone number, and I informed him I would not be giving him any of my personal information whatsoever. At that, he promptly hung up on me. I am concerned that someone else might feel obligated to hand over their personal information, so I wanted to report this incident.

I was wanted. My car was stopped rented in my name. Had drugs and guns in car. Wanted my card # from bank or check to protect from them people who use my name. I told them I didn't have checks or card I go to bank to take my money out and wanted to know how much money I had in bank. I told them $5.00. The truth.
