Social Security Administration Reports & Reviews (951)

- East Pittsburgh, PA, USA

The initial recording, when I answered the phone stated that my SSA benefits were suspended and to press "1" to speak to a representative. I pressed "1" and the middle eastern man asked for my name and to verify the last "4" digits of my SS number. When I questioned what he wanted; he said the last "4" digits were nothing and that I should verify them. He disconnected the call when I further questioned it. When I called the number it immediately went to a voice mail, which was in a middle eastern accent, that stated that the office was busy and required me to leave my phone number and name and to wait for a return call.

I received a voice mail from a scammer who claims they are the Social Security Administration. Here is what they said;

“Talk to you as soon as possible again this call is from Social Security administration number to reach department is 205-512-0679 I repeat it 205-512-0679 thank you…”

I did not return the call. I hope someone can catch these crooks that pray on our society!

I didn't really let them talk for long, they said they were calling with the Social Security Administration and mentioned fraud and I hung up.

Rec'd multiple calls from different phone numbers that give 225-425-8163 as the call back - message states "calling from the federal crime and investigation dept, we need to talk to you ASAP, again this call is from the Social Security Administration"

- Baldwinville, MA, USA

A call on my voice mail saying there was fraud found on my SS number. And before they suspend my SS number and benefits I was to call 1-410-927-3508. It sounded very convincing.

- Belle, MO, USA

They called saying that they had taken my social security away and that I needed to call them at the number they provided to give them more information.

- Quincy, IL, USA

Calls have come from many different 800 numbers. Never have I picked up, but there is always a voice mail with a ROBO message claiming my SSN had been compromised and I need to press 1 to prevent the number from being suspended, or press 2 for social security officials. In case we do not hear from you, your SSN will be permanently suspended.

I have received 3 calls today from this number and the voice mail claims to be the social security administration concerning my social security number and that the federal crime bureau is investigating blah blah blah and that I need to call them back at that number. Same thing an hour earlier from a different number with the same exact voice message from number 209-554-9204

I received several phone calls (9) starting on 9/13/2019 through 9/15/2019 from a person representing the social security administration stating that "my social security number was being suspended due to some sort of issue, and that I should contact them at 1-800-679-2879". I assumed this to be a scam and blocked the call on my telephone

- Zachary, LA, USA

Calling stated that there is a problem with my social security number, that my number have been frozen and I need to very my social security number to have it active again

I received a call and it was a recorded message telling me to press #1 to continue. I then spoke with a live person who knew my name and address. He asked me to confirm the last 4 numbers of my social security number. I told him I would not give any information out. He told me my social security number was ordered for immediate suspension because my number and address was linked to suspicious activities in El Paso Tx. He gave me a case # DMC701089, and his badge number #02840175. He also said my address and social security number had been investigated by local sheriff in the area. He said the call was being recorded by 3 government agencies, BBB, Federal ????? and another agency I did not understand. I hung up on the call after about 4 minutes on the line.

- Livingston, LA, USA

I received a call from this number stating that my social security number had been suspended due to fraudulent and suspicious activity and I needed to contact them immediately. Once I cussed and told them to stop calling, they called me a few bad names and hung up. It was a foreign lady on the phone.

I received the following voicemail several time a time for several days in a row.

I have been receiving calls from this number and I answered it and it was recording stating my social security number was used in fraudulent activity. A Person then picked up the phone and then I hung up.

- Chicago, IL, USA

alleged called talking about a claim with social security. I never filed a claim.

"The scammer contacted my wife's phone and left a voicemail. They attempted to call 4 times. They said her social security number had been compromised and wanted her to call back immediately at (936)241-4984. "

Recorded message says your ss# has been suspended and contact must be made to reinstate it. Called back the # and was sworn at and hung up upon for challenging their identity. Received many phone calls from other numbers ( 800-239-7214, 800-251-4838, 800-204-6001). After redialing the first non 800 number (412 407-6927) 7-8 times calls have currently stopped.

- Oregon, WI, USA

A recorded message stating my social security number was at risk and was locked out and to press 1 to learn about how to resolve it. After pressing 1 a male voice asked how he could help me. I asked him where he was calling from, he pretended he didn’t hear me and ask for my social security number. Again I asked where he was calling from. He then yelled “[censored] off” and hung up.

Over the passed 2 days I have received numerous calls from some entity claiming to be the SSA. Their message alludes to, if you don't contact them immediately your benefits will stop. They keep changing their 1.800 number after the calls are blocked.
