Social Security Administration Reports & Reviews (951)

I received a call from 726-278-3245 stating my social security number was used in fraudulent activity in south Texas. The recording stated they were transferring me to an officer but I hung up. The caller id said fraudulent call.

Social security administration called saying fraud on my number. When I called back they tried to get my ssi #. Hung up when I stated they were NOT social security.

I have been called 4 times this morning by a number (903-345-7824) hosted by Peerless Network of Texas. The callers always leave the same message claiming to be from the Social Security administration and I'm to call back immediately or my benefits will be cut off. I believe Peerless is partly responsible for this abusive scam. I found plenty of evidence online that this company seems to host a lot of these types of callers. They need to be stopped.

- Corpus Christi, TX, USA

I received about 9 calls this morning with the same number of 219-225-9195. I listened to the messages and said it was the investigation department with Social Security. I called the number, and the caller identified himself as being with social security and gave an employee id. He confirmed my name, and asked me to verify my social security number. I asked him to tell me the number to verify and he said I had to tell him my number. I refused and he continued insisting I had to give him to verify. I continued to refuse and he hung up on me.

Callers leave voice mail messages stating fraudulent activity is being detectected on your social security number. When you call back, they already have your name and zip code. Then they ask you verify your birthday. When I said I will not give my birthday & will contact SocSec they hung up immediately. The person has a foreign accent.

- Fountain, FL, USA

I had to have him to constantly repeat himself because his English was horrible. What I could understand is that my social security number might be compromised. He wouldn't explain anything else until I gave him my personal information, which I didn't.

- Little Rock, AR, USA

I received a call on 10/22/19 at 5:44 pm from the 713-592-3461 phone number claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. They told me my SSN number had been compromised and it had been suspended due to someone opening 15 bank accounts in Texas including a Wells Fargo and Bank of America account. I was asked if I had been to Texas recently. I answered with I had not been to Texas in 6 years. They informed me that 22 lbs of cocaine were found in a hotel room along with an abandoned car at the southern border of Texas registered in my name. They asked if I had been a victim of identity theft. I said yes. They said if I did not do what I was told to clear my name charges would be filed against me and I had to keep this all secretive by order of the court. I was told the U.S. treasury was going to secure my assets the next day if my money was not legalized. I was told I needed to go to the nearest target and secure two gift cards each with $999.99 using my debit card. I was only able to get one. I was then told I needed to go to the nearest bank and withdraw $10,000.00 in cash. I did this. While all of this escapade is going on, I am on the phone with this guy named Adrien and have been transferred to a number 321-362-9891. I then proceeded to purchase different gift cards from 4 different walmarts and a gamestop this night where I gave him the pin numbers and card numbers off of them. He told me I would be receiving a visit the following day, 10/23/19, from a Social Security Administration Agent, Michael Ray, and a FBI agent, Karen Parker, which never happened where they would be hand delivering a new social security card and a letter regarding the legitimacy of the new card. After all this was done, Adrien gave me the 503-994-2354 number to call him at in case of emergencies. I was to not make any outgoing calls except to call in to sick to work the next day. At, 8:22 am on 10/23/19 he contacted me on the emergency number telling me what would happen. He said he would text me with more details. He texted me saying go about my normal day and asked if I had all the documentation I needed to meet with the agents. I responded with okay or yes. I heard from him again at 10:20 am from the 202-324-3000 number where he told me one of the cards was not working. I was to go to the walmart I had been at the night before to tell them the card had not been activated. I went to the store, and was on the phone with the walmart gift card services. They told me the card had been frozen due to fraudulent charges to protect me. I told the guy this, and he hung up saying to call him on his personal number when I got home. I never heard from him again. I called him and I kept getting a call rejected when I would try to call him. I finally found a blog post on the FTC website where they talked about this exact same thing happening and I knew then that I had been part of a scam.

I received this call three times today from the phone number, 972-954-1710. The number appeared on one call and the word "Restricted" appeared on the others. A recording comes on asking you to call this number back in regards to your social security benefits. One recording said that someone was trying to access my social security benefits using my social security number. Another recording said that someone had requested to cancel my social security number due to my death. I called back several time so inquire as to who they are, what they wanted and accused them of running a scam and each time someone hung up on me.
