I received a call from 678-902-6249 and I answered but then I hung up and then called it again. Perman Thomas badge #956210 was the person who I talked to and he wanted my name and I didn't give it to him. I told him he should know my name since he called me. He said my social security number was used in illegal activity. I told him not to call me again and if he did I would call the police and he hung up on me.

I just received a phone call saying my social security number was being suspended due to suspicious activity. They said they were the Social Security Administration and asked that I press one (1) for further information. The number that appeared on my cell phone was 860-746-0971 and the caller was from CT, USA. I am assuming this is a scam.

They called and said that my social security number was compromised and that I needed to call them immediately. I would be arrested and this came from Texas law enforcement. Caller became extremely vulgar when I told them that I knew this was a scam.

I have received several voice mails from the above -referenced number. The message states: " We have found some suspicious activity with your social security number. If you want to know more about this case press one."

They state that you have had some fraud activity with your social security number and to avoid the cancelling of your SS# you will need to connect with an Social security agent. Once you do they try to ask you a question about your personal information and then hang up.

On 8/21/19, at 12:14pm ET I received a "robocall" to my personal mobile phone. The recorded message purported to be from the Social Security Administration, and advised that my SSN has been "suspended" due to suspected fraudulent activity. The number that appeared on caller ID was 800-172-6064. Instructions were to press 1 to speak with an agent to resolve and avoid permanent suspension. I pressed 1 and was connected with an "agent" with a heavy foreign accent. I stated that I knew the call was a scam and would be reporting his piece of $#!+ @$$ to the proper authorities. As soon as I disconnected the call, he immediately called back but with a different "spoofed" number that displayed on the caller ID (888-400-5530). These people continued to harass me over the last 2 hours, calling about 40-50 times, with many different CID #s displaying, including various 800#s and some that appear to be legitimate contacts saved in my phone. I also reported this to the FTC and to my mobile phone carrier.

- Berlin Center, OH, USA

I received three recorded calls on my cell phone. The scammer stated it was Social Security. The message said they are going to cancel my Social Security number because of illicit activity nationwide. It stated if you want information to call a number. The only number I have is the one on my caller ID 315-969-6591. I did not call the number back.

- Lexington, KY, USA

They need to talk to me immediately and they were the Social Security Administration. To return their call at 1-339-215-8939!!!

Received 3 calls from 3 numbers in a matter of 2 hours, all the same message stating my social security number was being suspended and a warrant was out for my arrest. I did not speak to a person, it was a recording that directed me to press one to speak to an officer.

- Weatherford, TX, USA

I received a call with a recorded message from the Social Security Administration claiming that this was a second and final attempt to contact me regarding an issue and it was a crime to ignore. I called the number given and was told it was an investigative unit of the social security office. He had a strong Indian accent and said his name was Officer Henrijal (sp).

It sounded like a call center in the background. He asked my name. I tried to give him the phone number they called because I get collections calls all the time for a guy that used to have my number. I eventually gave him my name and he told me there were several red flags and warrants for my arrest. I told him I had a hard time believing any of this was real/true. I then asked him if someone at the social security office would be able to see that information if they pulled up my records. He told me to get a piece of paper and pencil to write down his SENIOR OFFICER name and badge number.

I told him to please answer my question and he hung up on me.

Here's the thing, I was JUST at the Social Security office yesterday changing my name. It's the whole reason I even called back that number because I thought it might be related to my recent visit. I'm having a hard time with this coincidence right now. At any rate, total scammer. I guess he got my name and zip but I just changed the name.

On August 19, 2019, I received a call on my personal mobile phone from a number in Honolulu, HI. I was on another call and didn’t answer. The person left a message that said, “This call is from the Department of Social Security Administration. The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspended your Social Security number because we found some suspicious activity so if you want to know about this case just press one. Thank you.”
