I received a phone call from a number I did not recognize originating from Athens, IL. I let it go to voicemail. The message indicated that it was someone from the Social Security Administration informing me that my social security number was involved in a crime and that legal action would be taken against me if I did not call back. They also told me that my social security number would be suspended which I already knew was a lie since that is not possible. Given what I have heard about phone scams, I felt inclined to report the number.

Left a message on my cell phone, informing me that, this was the Department of Social Security Administration and the reason for calling was to inform me that my Social Security # had been suspended because of suspicious activity. So, if you want to know about this case, just press 1, thank you.

I’ve received 3 phone calls today saying they are from Social Security and will cancel mine and my benefits if I don’t call back. I did call back and the first thing they want are my name and social security number to locate the complaint filed against my number. I did not give that info.

They relentlessly call from different numbers saying this is the social security administration we have important information about the suspension of your social security benefits. Please call us back at ...... I didn't call. Since when is your social security number connected with your phone number? Wouldn't you receive a letter? Plu, I don't draw social security yet so...

Called stating they were the Social Security office and my card had been compromised. Hung up and call the ScamPulse.com to report.

I received a call from the above referenced number. They said they were from the Social Security Administration, SSA, and there was a problem with my account and i should verify my number. The area code, 616, is from Michigan.

The person who answered the phone did not give a name and did not know mine.

Needless to say, I hung up immediately.

today is 08/8/19. I have received so far 3 calls from 850-738-1655 and it is now 2:21pm. it is a recording stating they are social security and that my social security number has been compromised. the first call came in at 1:04pm, then 1:45pm, and then 2:18pm. I hung up after about 10 seconds of the recording. But i already know that the social security admin would not call you. I hope this helps someone else.

I received a phone call and let it go to voicemail. It was an automated call (not a real person) : "this call is from department of social security administration and reason you have received a call from our department is to inform you we have just suspend your social security number because we have found some suspicious activity so if you want to know about this case just press 1, thank you"

(the city listed on my caller ID was McAllen, TX. )

I had these 3 numbers from Texas call me within 2 hours today 8/9/2019. Each of the phone numbers listed has left a robotic voicemail message stating that my SSN has been suspended due to some suspicious activity, and to follow the prompts on the recording.

I received a phone call from this number that stated I had fraudulent activity on my SSN and provided me with a number to call. I did not call that number.

A woman with a thick Indian accent and the sounds of a call center in the background, calls my cell phone to tell me that my social security number has been blocked due to possible fraudulent purchases made in my name. Sought my personal info and I hung up.

I was told that I will be arrested at work and/or home if I hung up. I would then be taken to Washington DC for 5-6 days, to plea my case in front of a Judge. The individual had my social security number, my address, phone number, birth date, etc.
