Scammer left a automated voicemail stating " This call is from Social Security Administration the nature behind this call is to inform you about a suspension notice we have received against your Social Security number by the federal crime investigation department. We need to talk to you as soon as possible. again this call is from Social Security administration number to reach us is (224) 374-1374.

When called number back they hung up the first time but answer the second. The lady asked for my name but realized I wasn't serious and hung up. After calling a 3rd & 4th time she said "this is my personal home phone number, stop calling and [censored] off!

I then called them from a different number and a guy by the name of Anthony Neberc answered. He asked are first & last name which we gave him one and what the last 4 digits of my Social Security number was so i gave him a phony name & number. Anthony then gave me his ID# UF45982 and are claim number was CK231462. He said the call was being recorded by the 5 different government entity's. I then told him the last person i spoke to wasn't very nice and told me to [censored] off which at that time he hung up.

I got a call today from this number saying that my social security number had been compromised.

A gentleman called claiming to be with the social security administration and threatened my daughter scaring her to the point she gave her social security number out to them. I then placed a call to them myself and told them I knew what he had done only to get the response of wrong number wrong number.

The caller claimed to be from the Social Security Administration. The claim was my Social Security number was suspended and an arrest warrant was issued. If I wished to speak to the investigating officer please press 1. The caller did not give my name. I hung up. I do not have caller ID.

The man says he's located in Texas but I know for a fact that Social Security does not call you so pass it on to everyone

I have received many calls from people who do not speak English as a first language, saying that there is some fraudulent activity on my card and whether the police have contacted me.

- Jasper, TN, USA

Today September 5, 2019 I received a call from *** ***  from Social Security Administration telling me that I was going to be picked up by the police because my Social Security number has been used to purchase a vehicle in my name and that my ss number has been used to borrow a high access amount of money. This person stated that a car has been purchased in my name also. I think that it takes a low life individual to use someone else's information to scam people with. He stated that his name is Michael Lewis and he also gave me his badge number which is # 7429310 and he said this is my case ID# 7010. I don't know anyone who lives in Texas. The phone number is {844}462-2279. I hope that you will be able to put a stop to this because I am so sure that they are scamming people making them believe that they really work for the Social Security Administration. It is so sad but very true.

The "Social Security Administration" called saying that there was fraudulent things going on with my account and they wanted to talk to me about that but they needed my number in order for them to pull up the information.

- Aurora, IL, USA

Caller claimed to be Social Security cutting off benefits and advised to press 1 to be connected with the "Social Security Department".

- Billings, MO, USA

I had gotten a text message saying it was the Social Security Office and that I was in trouble for some things going on with my account. They provided a phone number for me to call and when I did I spoke with James he gave me the Case #ct90164. Basically they were wanting me to fix it. When I asked if it was a scam, the guy laughed and said yep.

I received a Voice Mail on my cell phone from the above phone number on September 3, 2019 at approximately 3:30 pm. The male caller (sounded like a computer generated voice) stated he was from the Social Security Administration and that my SS Number has been suspended due to "suspicious activity." If I wanted more information I should press 1 on the telephone. The caller did not give his name or address or any further info. He did not state my name or phone or any personally identifiable information unique to me. Not even my SS Number.

I did not respond because I concluded this was a scam call.

I received a phone call today, but didn’t answer. I let it go to voicemail. I have my voicemails transcribed into text messages. It read, “And your social security number because we found some suspicious activity. So if you want to know about this case just press one thank you. This call is from the department of social security administration. The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your social security number because we found some suspicious activity. So if you want to know about this case just press one thank you.”

A recording with American accent advises that your SSN has been "suspended" and cannot be used. If I want more information on this "case," to press 1. I did so and a person with an Asian or Middle Eastern accent came on the line and said, Welcome to the Social Security Administration. I told them they were not the SSA and to take my number off their records. They hung up on me. I have received this call twice today.

Phone call recording saying were calling from Social Security Administration and that there was a problem with my card. The recording then asked me to push a button for more information. I hung up and dialed the number that showed on my caller id, it was the UPS - Lennox, New York City location which had the actual phone number of 212-631-6107. I then reported this issue to the local police department.

I received a call and the person on the other end of the phone said his name was Michael Walter Emp ID# SSA7058. Stated that my Social Security number has been suspended for suspicious activity and wanted me to verify my SS#. Said he would continue to call me until he gets my number. Had a very heavy Asian accent. Was rude when I tried to get more information. This is a terrible way to scare retirees or soon to be retirees to give their SS#, then who knows what will happen!

If it is happening to me it is happening to others as well, so I thought i should report this

I received a voice recoding from social security administration saying my number has been compromised and suspended. It said press 1 to speak to someone. I did that and was connected to a officer brian Wilson from the social security administration. For such an American name, the guy sounded Indian or middle eastern. It didn’t feel tight. He asked for my name...didn’t give it to him.

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

It was an automated system saying that my social security has been suspended due to suspicious activity. It wanted me to push 1 if I wanted to speak to someone.

- Springfield, MO, USA

They called wanting to let me know that my social security number was being suspended and that if I wanted more information, to press 1. I didn't answer.

- Chattanooga, TN, USA

I had missed call from a Chicago number (312-500-7083) who then left a partial voicemail. The voicemail only picked up part of the way through, leading me to believe they were in a automatic dialer calling system or something of that type. The message was from a man with an American accent picking up mid sentence saying in a friendly tone "debit card, or may the IRS is going to arrest you, or perhaps Microsoft wants to give you your money back. Or really any other bull[censored] I can think of to try to get a hold of your bank account." He goes on to talk about how I might be thinking that this isnt just a scam call from someone in India, and then rants about paying them in bitcoin or itunes gift cards if I don't have cash. He continued to talk about "people in Indian" or foreigners, referencing scams to seemingly try to legitimize himself, and cursing profusely. I called the number back and a man with an foreign accent answered. When I asked what company he was with he said the Social Security Administration. When I asked questions about their location he hung up. I called back a few minutes later to try get more information and used a fake name to try to see what exactly their scam was. Again, a man with a foreign accent answered (sounded like it may have been the same man that answered the first time) and said he was with the Social Security Administration. He said he was "Officer Sam Johnson" and he would need more information from me to look in their system as to why I had been called. He hinted that it could be a legal matter when I asked about his status as "officer". He asked for my zip code, SSN, and date of birth. I of course gave him none of that information and said I was at work and would have to call him back.

The message message I got from. My voicemail from this number claimed to be the SSA. They said my social security number has been canceled until I take care of this matter and I'm assuming theyre trying to get ppl to pay extra taxes or fees that dont exsist. I left the entire message below in a PDF file so people can hear it word for word..the Social Security administration isn't going to call and leave you a msg like this ever or cancel your SS#...what would that do?..idk but I pray ppl take heed and listen to my warning...this is a scam to scare you into giving them money ...its theft!
