Several of my credit cards or membership cards were stolen a week or ten days before I received this phone call from the "Social Security' department. The woman, Christina Garcia said my cards were used in a large drug bust in Texas (22 pounds of Çocaine). She said her badge number was 801347689. When I started questioning her further, she turned me over to Mr. Rajive Mathur, who is listed on the Social Security Website. I thought this was a scam, so I questioned him further. Then he put me on hold and said he had to consult a higher up person. I waited

for a half hour and he never came back. I 'm fairly sure this is a scam and that they are "borrowing" names from real Social Security employees.

I am changing all the identifying numbers on all of my important cards. Please let me know if there is a better and quicker way to accomplish

securing my important cards.

8-14-19 @ 2:22pm, no info in message except to click 1-360-842-4000. this could have been for unsecured debt too, since they both used this same nbr to click or call sine 8-1-19. except no name was listed on this one as in the other three texts from them, so i think it was ssa scammer

Received a call from 400-400-3629 and there was a recording about my social security number being used in a fraudulent activity and to press 1 and I hung up.

The business stated the consumer had a warrant out for their arrest.

Received a voicenote on my mobile phone at around 12:30pm (from SSA with a callback number). Called back and spoke to a David Lee. Gave me a list of addresses to verify. Told me that a car registered in your name has been found with drugs, money and blood in it, and my name is associated with a house that has been part of a recent drug raid. Also told my that I have charges of drug trafficking, and money laundering. Even gave me a case number (RN742601). Asked for first and last name and to verify last four digits of my SSN which I foolishly complied. I was then transferred to Gloria Wright from the DEA who told me to head to the nearest SSA office to verify my information.

I got a call from number I didn't know. I sent to voicemail. It left a computerized message that my social security number was suspended due to suspicious activity. It asked me to call them back.

- Columbia, MO, USA

I received a message from this number that stated they had placed a hold on my SSN.

- Grand Rapids, MI, USA

This was the voicemail message that I received:

“That we just suspend your Social Security number because we found some suspicious activity so if you want to know about this case just press one thank you this call is from the Department of Social Security administration and the reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your Social Security number because we found some suspicious activity so if you want to know about this case just press one thank you…”

- Billings, MT, USA

They called saying my social security number was suspended and they were going to have me arrest and to push one before they submit it

These scammers have called me repeatedly from several different numbers, all from "unknown" area codes, to inform me that my SSN has been suspended due to suspicious activity. It's always an automated voice who reads the same script. They warn that if you don't call back or speak to a representative, then your SSN will be blocked permanently. The Inspector General has already warned the public about this scam, but I would encourage everyone to be on the lookout for these numbers.

- North Royalton, OH, USA

I received a voicemail from a number stating to be the Social Security Administration. They said that my social security number has been used in criminal activity, as well as my birth date. I was urged to call the number back to verify my information, or they will have no choice but to contact the authorities.

- Jacksonville, FL, USA

They called saying that I owe social security and that St John's sheriff department was coming to arrest me for bad checks and that my name and information had been stolen. They guys that called my phone sounded like foreigners.

- Laurel, DE, USA

I received phone calls on two days, 8/13 and 8/14. I didn’t answer the first call and they left a voicemail. That stayed they are the (SSA). The second call was the one I answered. They told me to confirm my social security number so they could stop the identity theft of my info. When I said I would not give them the info they got irate. They threatened to steal all my money and told me they would find me and my family and kill us all..

- Bloomingdale, IL, USA

I received a threatening voice mail that they were going to take legal action against me. I called the phone # from my land line instead of my cell and the person who answered the phone asked for my name and number. I asked what this was about and he said he works for the Social Security Administration.

I said I don't believe you and stop calling me. They called my cell phone again later that day.

This should not be allowed. I just googled the phone # and there are a bunch of people posting the same thing. They all claim the man who answered the phone sounds pakistan/indian. If the phone # shows up in Parkville, MD, why cant they stop this person for calling people CLAIMING TO WORK FOR THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION?

Thank you.

- Saint Hedwig, TX, USA

I have received tons of calls of pre-recorded messages stating that my social security number was about to be suspended due to illegal activity and there is a warrant for my arrest. I have never answered any of the calls or called back.
