- Moberly, MO, USA

Called the number back told me either money laundering or drug purchase had been made in Mexico with my ssn and wanted me to verify my identity by giving them my number, I told them no and if this was the SSA they would know my number and then hung up. This same number has now called 8 more time today.

- Quincy, IL, USA

Social Security Administration apparently called saying my account had been breached and that I should call them back. I called the actual Social Security Office and they said it wasn't them.

- Harrisonville, MO, USA

Claimed to be from the social security admin, said they were suspending my ssn? When I called back a man answered. I told him I knew it was a scam and would be reporting it

- Metairie, LA, USA

The caller said her name was Linda J*** and gave her badge of # US104-82 to say she was with the Social Security. They were going to cut off my Social Security today because of fraud usage, drug usage, multiple addresses associated with my social security number. She had my name and current address and wanted to confirm my last 4 digits to my social security number and I gave it. She said there were a number of fraud usages in the state of Texas and New Mexico with this number and wanted me to talk to a FBI agent.

My wife overheard the conversation and said that it was a fraud call hand up. I did so and then I realized what happened. I am mad at myself for letting this happen to me. I immediately informed the SSA office of this, I also signed up for Life lock security alerts and now am letting you know about this. The phone number they used is ###-###-####.

I hung up before they can continue the scam.

They call with a robo caller and then I would call them back and they would answer social security administration office. I know if the social security office needed to contact me they would send a letter not call. And besides it's the wrong area code.

- Nevada, MO, USA

As I said, the caller said that it was a courtesy call to let me know that my social security number was involved in a law suit and to call the *** number. The call was received at that number also.

- Montgomery, AL, USA

The caller claimed to be Alexandria Nelson (Badge ID: SSA0711) with the Social Security Administration working in conjunction with the US Marshall and Federal Trade Commission as an investigator. She verified my first and last name and asked for the last four digits of my social security number. She pulled up my information in her database. She reported that I have a warrant issued under my name (arrest warrant # 00J3X3961). She reported that the warrant was issued with the following charges: drug trafficking, money laundering, and identity theft. She reported half of a million dollars had been wired from my bank accounts for such purposes as drug trafficking and that everything that I own would be ceased as my Social Security number had been stolen. She informed me that federal agents would stop by my home the next day to further question and work to clear my name at which time she provided my home address for me to confirm. She informed me that I had open bank accounts and credit cards in my name with Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo to name a few. She asked if I had ever had my purse or anything stolen from me, or whether or not I had any open accounts or obtained any loans recently. She also provided addresses of where the suspicious activity occurred and asked if I had ever resided there. She then proceeded to ask me to provide responses to a series of questions on a recorded line in order to clear my name. I disconnected the call before going through any additional process. However, I was afraid that more information would be obtained. Beware!
