Social Security Administration Reports & Reviews (951)

- Austin, TX, USA

Received a call stating that my social security number had been stolen and resulted in identity theft. The caller stated that if I didn't return the call that my social security card would be canceled.

Posing as the social security administration, threaten to suspend your SSN for committing fraudulent activity and that you can be arrested. They were phishing for SSNs

- Arlington, TX, USA

I have contacted this number multiple times within the last 3 weeks off and on. I have called from multiple numbers and talked to multiple "agents" claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. They take the classic robocall initial approach leaving a voicemail claiming your "social security number has been suspended". I just checked 5 minutes ago and the number is confirmed to be still active now with an Indian man answering and cursing at me in. I reported this number to the SSA weeks ago and somehow the problem has not been resolved. They read a script claiming there was a rental car found in El Paso, TX (nothing new) registered under your social security number and 20+ pounds of cocaine were found inside after the car was abandoned. They threaten arrest and to put you "behind the bars" unless you wish to settle outside of court for a designated sum of money. The only catch is, this "SSA" requires you to go Walmart or Target and purchase Google Play cards or store gift cards to pay them so it is one of the more obvious and repetitive scams still in circulation. This number has been active for over a month in possession of these scammers.

I've had 3 different calls from different numbers all with the exact same voicemail telling me to connect to people of the Social Security Administration and that my social will be blocked permanently.

- Midlothian, TX, USA

This Phone number is calling "Saying Allert Citizen" and claiming they are Social Security Admission. The recorded message is saying my Social Security Number is being suspended and all Government Programs are being suspended and I am being removed from all government agencies. Saying that if I don't talk to a representative today my social will be blocked permanently. And I have to press #5 to be able to speak to someone.....

They claim they are the Social Security Administration and will identify themselves as Officer "Someone". They say that there has been suspicious activity associated with your social security number. They will know your name. They have an Indian accent. Once you accuse them of being a scam they unleash with vulgar obscenities.

Initially I had gotten a robo call stating I needed to give this number a call back to speak with a Federal Agent regarding an issue with my Social Security Information. On my caller ID, it said it was from New York. I called it back with the suspicion it was a scam but wanted to gather information. When I called it back, I got a foreign sounded guy on the line who claimed he was with the Social Security Office. I explained to him that I thought this was a scam and would verify this with the ScamPulse.com and wanted more information. I asked him where he was from, he told me Texas and I informed him of the caller ID stating New York and he hung up.

I received a phone call stating that there’s been “suspicious activity” and that my SSN will be suspended, SSNs are never suspended, ever. I gave them a false name, but they know my real one. I was asked for my SSN, UH, that’s the hugest NOPE. These scammers must be stopped.

Reporting the social security number is suspended and requesting the social security number. Posing as Social Security Administration.

- Tyler, TX, USA

called and said that something was wrong with your social security.

- Taylor, TX, USA

I received a phone call from a fake social security Administration stating charges have been filed against my social and to stop prosecution i need to pay a certian amount to them or dace jail time

- Kansas City, MO, USA

I received a phone call and did not answer. When I later checked my voicemail it was an automated recording stating they were with the Social Security Administration and requested that I call them at 317-406-0748. I found it odd for the Social Security Administration to call versus sending out a letter. My name was not addressed in the voicemail.

- Topeka, KS, USA

I received devastatIng news via TELEPHONE CALL from the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION that my SSN has been CANCELLED!!

The SSA will never call you! The scammer wants you to call them and give them all of your info!!

They wanted the last 4 digits of my SS Card. They told me that someone has used my number and have purchased items in Texas. They told me to get another SS card issued. They said they were going to have me arrested. I asked for their supervisor and they hung up on me.

- Falls Church, VA, USA

The number called through a robot call stating that the social security number is being compromised and asked to press a number with no other information, submitted the number immediately for reporting.

They are calling saying that I have had fraudulent activity on my Social Security Number and are trying to scare me into giving them information. Social Security wouldn't reach out to me like this.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I received a call and they left a message on my phone stating my social security was used in a fraudulent activity and this is the last warning before they take action against me. I didn't call the number back.

Hello BBB,

I am writing to inform you of the calls I have received today since 8:16 am. As of right now I have received 10 voicemails and 11 total calls from 1-734-418-3136. After the 2nd call I decided to return their call and the man on the other line answered the phone with a "hello" instead of who the business was. He asked for my name because I called from my office and I absolutely refused to give it to him, even though he already knew it because he ended up repeating it to me. After this, they called me back another 2 times and so I decided (probably out of bad judgement) to call back. It was the same man as before and he answered the phone this time as the "Social Security Administration". He told me he had authorization from the US Marshall to deactivate my SSN and he apparently did not like it when I responded with a "you cannot do that". I told him I did not believe him and to stop calling me. Our conversation was somewhat heated because he was trying to intimidate me. I do not know what he was wanting to get from me because I never allowed him to ask me for information or money. As I am typing this email, I just received another call. So, since 8:16 am I have had a total of 12 calls...they appear to be coming every 20-30 minutes now. I have blocked this number but I still receive the voicemails. I'm not sure of what to do now and it feels as if I am being harassed because he did not get what he wanted from me. I have attached a screenshot of my mailbox to verify that I have been receiving these calls.

This call is from the Department of social security administration the reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there is a legal enforcement actions filed on your Social Security number for fraudulent activities so when you get this message kindly call back at the earliest possible on our number before we begin with the legal proceedings that is 281-899-0454 I repeat 281-899-0454 thank you…” I got that message on my voicemail and I returned the call a guy named Jay Park said he was from the social security office and that somebody was use my social to do illegal stuff then a new dude came on the phone by the name of James Kelen said he was from the DA office and that someone took a car out in my name in El Paso Texas and that the person was trafficking cocoine
