Caller said needed to call due to fraud

- Clyde, TX, USA

Caller left message and number for me to call, stating there had been fraud associated with my social security number.

- Saint George, UT, USA

They said that my Social Security Number had been targeted for fraud and that my social security number was going to be cancelled by the state of Texas. When I started asking questions that they could not answer they hung up on me. I even called the number back and I asked them where they were calling from and once again they hung up on me. She did ask for the last four digits of my social Security number and I gave that to her so I sure hope they are not doing anything fraudulent. Also, they sounded like they were from India.

- Grand Rapids, MI, USA

They claim they are from social security administration and they ask for your full name and zip code. If you ask who the would like to speak with the become very hostile and curse at you. They also claim to put an officer on the phone which I didn't believe so they hung up. I am not sure what their trying to do because I knew it was a scam from the start and didn't give it my info.

This person called and stated he was with the Social Security Administration Office and that they were going to put a hold on my social security. He asked if I shared my social security with anyone and I said no and he asked me to provide it to him for verification. I said no and I asked him to send me a letter and he hung up on me. I called him back and asked him why he hung up on me and he hung up again. I called again and asked who he was, why he had my information and he said it was misunderstanding and that I was calling a pharmacy and hung up on me. I called again and he starting reading off my name, address & phone number. I asked him what he wanted, why he had my information and if he was a scammer and he hung up. I called again and asked for a supervisor and he said they were busy.

Starts off with an automated message to call 214-299-8509. There is a warrant being issued for my arrest due to Fradulant activity connected to my social security number. Warrant is going to be issued for my arrest if I don't call them back. Once you call back they try and ask for SS#. They were not able to start asking me for money because I Know SSA Will not contact you by phone. They will send you a letter to inform you of any issues.

Scam call...person "couldn't even pronounce SS"

- Melbourne, FL, USA

An automated machine came on stating they were the Social Security administrative office and that my Social Security was going to be suspended because I had committed fraud in the state of Texas then a live agent came on asking me for my name and to verify my Social Security I reply back back with if you're calling me you should be able to greet me with my last name inform me of what crime I committed. He couldn't reply and he hung up the phone...

- Paris, KY, USA

I received this voicemail in the attached image. When I called back they asked me my name. I gave it. Then they asked me my for my social security number. I told them I wasn’t giving my number over the phone and hung up. I am truly concerned that, if this message is legitimate and someone is using my SS# fraudulently and criminally, I could be responsible for it.

- Edwardsville, IL, USA

A caller identified themselves as working for the Social Security Administration office. They stayed my SS number had been used in fraudulent activity. They asked my name, which I did not provide. I then started asking them questions which they could not provide answers for. They then hung up. The caller had a foreign accent. I immediately called the number back and received a rapid busy tone.

- Pioneer, LA, USA

I received a call from 380-666-6962, I didn't answer and let the call go to voicemail. The following is the message that was left in an electronic voice. This is the Social Security Administration, the reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there is a legal enforcement actions filed on your social security number for fraudulent activities. So when you get this message kindly call back at the earliest possible on our number before we begin with the legal proceedings that is 380-666-6962. I repeat 380-666-6962. Thank you and have a nice day. I called it back purely to hear how they were planning on scamming me. When you dial the number that was given, my phone would display a call prompt that read "call +1(202)709-3174". When that number was dialed I would get an error message stating that the number wasn't set up to accept calls at this time and to try back at a later time.

- Saint Johns, FL, USA

Called to confirm SSN number, Said I was being charged w/drug trafficking and money laundering.

- Abilene, TX, USA

Called and said my Social Security# had been fraudulently used and I would not only lose my assets but go to jail; so, I needed to push #1 to speak with an officer.

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

I received a call from someone claiming to be from the Drug Enforcement and Social Security Administration, requesting immediate action to avoid suspension of my social security number.

They claim that your social security number has been compromised. They say they will put a hold on your S.S. # and issue you a new S.S. # but you have to give them XX Dollars first. or a sheriff will come lock you up, because its showing that there is a bank account in Texas that is associated with money laundering.

- Half Way, MO, USA

Caller pretending to be social security administration said my social number was used for fraudulent activity and if I don’t call back they are going to move along with legal actions. This number is a scam!

- Poplar Bluff, MO, USA

I got a call saying that they had detected suspicious activity on my SS account. They gave a different call back number from the number they called from. If I didn't return the call, I would be considered in non compliance.
