Left message on phone to call. I called, they said they were the IRS and that I owed money from 2008-2014 in the amount of $8,179.00. They assured me we were on a VERY secure line that was being recorded. I then told them I thought it was a hoax and told them I was reporting them. They told me to get my lawyer ready. I reported to Sheriff's office, who referred me here.

Message left on voicemail saying to call a number to find out more information about a lawsuit against me. When I called the number, a man with a heavy foreign accent (a lot of noise in the background) wanted phone number and full name. He mentioned something about him being with the IRS. When I told him he should already have that information, he said I could try back again when I was willing to give him my information.

First robo call left saying that I owed the IRS money and this is final warning with a call back number to resolve issue. When I called back said I was being recorded and did I know I did this, I owed 6,804 dollars. he said his name was "Eric Johnson" and he was trying to help me. Said the IRS agents had been to my home twice and could not reach me to deliver letter, they knew my address, I didn't tell them. If I didn't pay I would be arrested and all my accounts and drivers license would be suspended. I talked to my husband who called them and talked to "Tom sawyer" and told them he knew was a scam and to stop calling. I received robo calls the rest of yesterday and am getting them again today. I have been called by them using 5 different phone numbers. Please help to stop this

People have called saying they are the IRS. He goes by the name of Steve Smith. Claiming money is being owed from miscalculating taxes from years ago. Please shut these people down. He hung up on me when I told him I was going to report what he was doing.

Call received on April 24th with messsage that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me to collect unpaid taxes. They said to call 205-454-0823. I have had this type call before and know that IRS does not operate this way, and did not return the call.

Also today May 5th, I received the same type call from another phone with a 215 area code with the same message.

I keep getting calls from 505012535000001 that leave a voicemail saying I'm in trouble with the IRS and an arrest warrent will be issued if I dont call back. I called the number that was left on my voicemail 1-772-621-5355 and asked that they not contact me again, they were a scam and I was reporting them, they hung up on me.

Given telephone number 309-569-5202(Bushnell, IL). When I returned call, phone went to a person w/a South Asian accent, call-center noise in background. I requested a supervisor, was hung up on. Called again, repeated process, same result.

I have received a couple of messages on my answering machine from (supposedly) the IRS. The number from which they called was 310-438-0445. It was very difficult to ascertain either in the message or when I called them back what the problem was -- it sounded as if I were being sued by the government. The name and ID badge of the person to whom I first spoke were Kevin Peter, Badge IRM5734. He claimed that he was calling from the IRS DC office; however on my caller ID, it said Unknown Caller, California. When I looked up the phone number, I couldn't find the actual number but the 310-438 area code is from Compton. I actually tried again and got a different person on the line but this gentleman, too, had a very heavy South Asian accent. I was told that I owe $7,500 -- when I asked for him to send me information in writing, no one answered my question. The line didn't go dead but there seemed to be no one there.

The odds of my being sued by the IRS (particularly with nothing in writing from the agency) are exceedingly slim and I think this was a scam and, therefore, decided to report it to the ScamPulse.com.

I was contacted by the IRS and told that this was the final call before I would be arrested for not paying my taxes. I told them that I have never received anything in writing and I was told that it was sent and that it is not their fault if people are stealing my mail. He said that I would spend 5 years in prison. I was told to go to CVS Pharmacy and get 2 itunes cards in the amount of $500 each. He told me not to tell the people at CVS what it is for as they would call the police and I would be arrested on the spot. I called and gave them the information on the back of the cards and the money was gone.
