I am getting phone calls which are recorded messages which say they are from the IRS and we have been turned in for prosecution and we need to call them right away.

- One number came up on my phone as a SKYPE 1-347-494-1912. This was two days after taxes were due, which I did file.

- I just received another call that did not have a number show up on my phone, but the number was 1-347-637-6194.

I tried to do a reverse search and found the most recent caller's number was a land line from the Bronx, Coretel in NY, although another website said it was a cell phone. One of the reverse phone sites I looked at had a section where people could leave a note stating what was happening and there were so many that were IRS scams from different NY numbers. They weren't the 347 area codes necessarily, many were 340. The people who talked to the scammers are told to go get a type of payment card that evidently can't be traced.

I'm familiar with this because I was the victim of another scam where someone called and said she was my granddaughter and was in jail in NY and needed my help. She supposedly had gone to a funeral and was driving someone's car back to the house where she was staying, they were pulled over and one of the kids had pot. They were all put in jail. I have 4 granddaughters in college. They had me guess which granddaughter I thought it was. She had me speak to her attorney who told me what kind of payment card to get to help her with bail. Fortunately a clerk I spoke with at RiteAid told me what was going on; so I didn't follow through. The young lady at RiteAid told me that the majority of the scams where they want this type of payment card, which can't be traced, so you're just out the money, comes from New York. I would have lost $3,000.00. I haven't had any problem with this again, this was just an aside as how these payment cards work. They tell you which drugstores or grocery stores to go to to get them. RiteAid quit carrying them.

Thinking back, this is about the 4th or 5th time I have had a phone call supposedly from the IRS. I have never called anyone back. My husband and I are Senior Citizens.

I received a call from Mr. Mitin Bill. He claimed he was from the IRS and that I owed them money and that if I didn't pay them immediately they would have a warrant out for my arrest. He wanted me to pay $11,780.00. he called from 321-370-5068. When I call they answer as the IRS.

Received two exact phone messages 4 1/2 hours apart on 04/25/2016 claiming it was the IRS. It was a recorded female voice, telling me I was being sued by the IRS. She did not identify the subject of the lawsuit. My caller ID indicated it was a "wireless call," and the number was 607-293-0298, and that was also the number I was instructed to call. I did not call.

I've received two calls from a company identifying themselves as the IRS stating that I'm being sued by the IRS. This is definitely a scam. The phone numbers are:

So far we have received 2 phone calls. First one on 4/23 second one 4/28/2016. Both are recorded messages saying the IRS has a lawsuit against us and we need to call 715-605-2589. I'm well aware the IRS would not contact us in this way if we owed them money. Do not call this number, just hang up!

Recorded telephone message "from IRS" stating that this is a final attempt to reach us as we are about to be sued, and that we should call 202-257-7725 as soon as possible. The caller ID indicates that the phone call was made from a cell phone.

BBB received a phone call from a consumer reporting she had been called twice by the IRS informing her they were suing her for back taxes. Consumer told them she knew it was a scam and they called her again from a different number.

You get a call from a recorded voice stating that you are being sued by the IRS and to call the number back. (252) 525-8109 is the number that called and the number you are told to call back.

IRS agent called me stating that I owed taxes and demanded money. I've heard on the news from BBB that this is a scam so hung up the phone. The number on my caller ID was 423-285-3888.

Hello. Recently i have been bombarded by the "IRS" claiming that there is a lawsuit pending against and to immediately call the number provided. Just for curiosity's sake i called the number. They asked why i was calling and then hung up on me. Three times! The last woman i spoke with, obviously from India, told me she was from Spain when I asked her if she was American. I told her she was NOT from Spain... then she hung up on me.

I could hear other call takers yelling at calling in the background.

Listen, I am smarter than this. Others, however, may not be. This has got to stop before some unfortunate elderly person or some young person with little life experience gives away their life savings or credit card info.

Recorded female voice: "This call is officially a final notice from IRS internal revenue service. The reason of this call is to notify inform you the IRS is filing law suits against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 802-431-5044. I repeat 802-431-5044. Thank you"

Received this call 2 x on our home land line and 1 x on a cell phone. Cell phone call was received 4/22/16 from 802-431-5044. Land line calls received a few days prior.

I have received at least 3 phone calls from "the IRS" saying that there is a lawsuit filed against me and that they are seizing my drivers license , bank accounts , etc - I called one of the numbers back and they repeated the threats - phone number is 347-418-0574- I didn't give them any information except my name

Received a telephone call on 4/26/16 from someone who said his name was Paul Mason from the Audit Dept. of the Internal Revenue. We asked him where he was located he said Washington DC, when we asked for the address he hung up the telephone. I personally know from experience that IRS do not call My husband on the other hand (who they asked for) did not know this. Just wanted to make the report for whatever good it may be to others. Hopefully this will be reported.

call indicated they were from IRS and that a legal action would be filed if I did not return call. I have not nor will not call back. I also received 2 calls last week from Michigan last week with the same scenario.

A message on our answering machine from the IRS. Must call them immediately.

The number was 913-514-0032. We didn't call.
