- Middleton, WI, USA

Received 2 phone calls on Weds 4/20/16 from the phone number 202-297-9358. Both times a message was left saying it was the IRS. I know the IRS won't call us, so i know this is a scam. I've seen this scam reported on Channel 3 news.

Received a phone call on Monday April 18, 2016 from 651 419 4194 and on Tuesday April 19, 2016 from 919-258-2012. Both calls stated that they were the IRS calling and I owed money on taxes. I know this is not the IRS calling, as I've seen the ScamPulse.com regional manager on Channel 3 saying that they don't call you to tell you that you owe money.

I know this is a scam, and I'm not calling back those phone numbers.

- Yonkers, NY, USA

I received a call from an automated voice stating that a warrant had been issued for my arrest due to money owed to the IRS and that I should contact them back to resolve. I called back and told them they had been reported to the do not call list, the IRS and the ScamPulse.com and they were silent and then hung up.

Phone call with message left:

Male voice with Asian accent, "This is the Internal Revenue Service and there is a warrant for your arrest. Before you get arrested, call us at 772-621-5251. Have a good day."

- Richland, WA, USA

I received a call from 202-341-6508, saying they are the IRS calling to collect a debt. It is my understanding that the real IRS will try to contact you through the mail etc. Please be aware of this SCAM

Someone purporting to be the IRS has called repeatedly for nearly a month saying that we must contact them or be sued by the IRS. The caller ID says it comes from San Antonio, and they leave a number for us to call. It is made to sound like we are going to be sued if the call isn't returned. We suspected it was a scam but I called the BBB just to make sure and after listening to the recorded message about the IRS, I wanted to give the BBB the information so they can perhaps stop this outfit.

Call from IRS saying that I owe 6,000 $ and thay want me to make a payment now and if I refuse to thay are fileing to sez my bank account have me arrested and take my house

Received a call from 551-236-6052. The man said his name is Robin Jones (spoke with a Chinese accent) and he was agent #17123 from the IRS. He said it was urgent that I speak to him regarding money owed from my 2013 taxes. I told him I didn't owe any money from 2013 (I knew this was a scam as the IRS doesn't call people). I also told him I knew I didn't owe money because H&R Block did my taxes. The man, Robin said, "didn't H&R Block tell you that you owed money?" When I said no, he told me that they should have and now it had been too long and that is why H&R Block wasn't involved in this anymore. He said That I needed to pay immediately, $4615.95 or a federal agent would arrive in 45 minutes and they would take my drivers license, seize my bank accounts and arrest me. I told him, "fine. send the agent". I waited 45 minutes and no one came. And actually no one came within 24 hours to arrest me.

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

On 04-21-16 I received 3 call from a female caller who said she was with the IRS. I told her the IRS does not call consumers and that I watch Fox 2 News in St. Louis MO and know the IRS does not make phone calls. With that she hung up on me.

The numbers that she called from are 516-595-8197, 206-823-3035 and 718-260-5575. All of these come from the New York area.

- South Dartmouth, MA, USA

I received multiple and harassing levels of phone calls from (206) 472-6160 claiming to be the IRS and stating that they were filing a law suit. The Indian customer service rep answering the phone when I asked for his ID number responded with 023711 amidst the background noise of other scammers speaking in dialects other than English. Please shut this scam down.

- Toledo, OH, USA

A man claiming to be an Irs agent called my cell phone. the # was a Texas phone #. I answered it because my daughter is currently in Texas.

The man stated he needed to verify my name and last 4 of my ss#. I asked him to tell me who he was calling. He got aggressive and I told him my name and last 4 of my ss#.

He proceeded to tell me that I was being investigated for tax fraud and kept me on the phone for approximately 20min.

He was threatening me with arrest and having to do all kinds of things to clear up the matter, or to take care of the 11,000 bill I Owed the irs. I told him I needed to have everything sent to me in writing or I was not going to do anything. He was very intimidating and kept threatening me with arrest.

I got upset, but couldn't believe this was the way the Irs handled things. And I have never filed a false return in my life.

The representative gave me some bogus id #IRM18414 with a File # CP10173T.

He was foreign and I could barely understand what he was saying. He talked very fast and when I asked to speak with someone else, he refused.

The Phone # he called from is 903-361-3983.

I was not fooled by this man, but I surely can see how someone like the elderly or anyone for that matter could.

He wanted me to send money.

I hope this helps keep someone else safe.

- San Diego, CA, USA

Cell phone call from (541-708-5084) stating that I had avoided prosecution by the US Treasury department and am subject to arrest if I do not call the number back.

- Corona, CA, USA

A man who identified himself as Officer John Wang with the Internal Revenue Service badge #IRM0101 called me from 425-341-0537 and told me I was being sued by the IRS for tax evasion and that I owed them $7,986.00. I replied with "I have a professional do my taxes and that I would be contacting them directly". I also stated that I'm sure if there was a problem they would be sending me something in writing. The one thing that bother's me is that he knew my name. I also told him that his parents must be so proud before hanging up on him. (I send this to you in hopes that I can stop these scams on elderly people who are willing to take care of this over the phone with a credit card to avoid further so called penalties, etc.)

yesterday on 4-19-16 I received a voicemail that "This is an official final notice call from the IRS notifying you that a lawsuit has been filed against you. Call Internal Revenue Services at 209-200-4638."

I did not respond.

I received a recorded voicemail stating that I was receiving a final notice from the IRS about being sued. I have verified independently with the IRS that this is not the case. I called the number back and told them that I was reporting them to the ScamPulse.com as a phishing scam, and got hung up on. The telephone number this scam originated from is 202-341-1764, showing Washington, DC as the location.
