I received a call from a woman claiming she was with the IRS. She was very firm and business like. She said she was calling as final notice before an action would be filed against me. I knew the IRS didn't call you so I hung up. She called from 312-878-9031.

Received a telephone call (3) in past 24 hours with a final warning of a "pending IRS Lawsuit". We called the first number (469) 993-4872 and it just rang without being answered. There was another call from this "agency" the next day and we called the telephone number for information, (217) 358-6851. A male with a foreign accent answered and attempted to discuss this issue, but there was substantial background noise and the call was disconnected 3 times.

Scammer's phone18008291045,12023411742,+911 Type of a scamTax Collection
My husband received a call while he was at work from a gentleman at a 1(800)# stating he worked for the IRS. He proceeded to tell my husband that he had committed some type of fraud on his taxes & now owed $4000 back. He actually told my husband that he needed to make a payment at the moment. My husband then hung up. Then the gentleman called again from a different # saying my husband could lose his job & that he was responsible for his taxes even if he had someone else do them. Being my husband was at work he hung up again. Again the gentleman called again from another #. My husband then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. He was transferred to another gentleman. Best he had an Arabic accent, my husband couldn't understand him well. But they refused to answer his questions. My husband became aggitated & hung up again. My husband then called me asking me to call 1(800) back to verify if it was real. I informed him that the IRS would never call to collect any info or payments. I called the # & was prompted to answer a survey to win a trip to the Caribbean so I hung up & decided to make this report.

When you call they want your name and address then make accusations I didn't file taxes correctly and am being audited and will be arrested to serve time in a federal prison and the local authorities will be at my house etc etc.... I hung up before they asked for any further information from me. The phone calls started this morning at 9:25 then at 11:30 and again at 2:15 at this point its harassment.

CountryUnited States Type of a scamTax Collection
I am getting phone calls which are recorded messages which say they are from the IRS and we have been turned in for prosecution and we need to call them right away.
- One number came up on my phone as a SKYPE 1-347-494-1912. This was two days after taxes were due, which I did file.
- I just received another call that did not have a number show up on my phone, but the number was 1-347-637-6194.
I tried to do a reverse search and found the most recent caller's number was a land line from the Bronx, Coretel in NY, although another website said it was a cell phone. One of the reverse phone sites I looked at had a section where people could leave a note stating what was happening and there were so many that were IRS scams from different NY numbers. They weren't the 347 area codes necessarily, many were 340. The people who talked to the scammers are told to go get a type of payment card that evidently can't be traced.
I'm familiar with this because I was the victim of another scam where someone called and said she was my granddaughter and was in jail in NY and needed my help. She supposedly had gone to a funeral and was driving someone's car back to the house where she was staying, they were pulled over and one of the kids had pot. They were all put in jail. I have 4 granddaughters in college. They had me guess which granddaughter I thought it was. She had me speak to her attorney who told me what kind of payment card to get to help her with bail. Fortunately a clerk I spoke with at RiteAid told me what was going on; so I didn't follow through. The young lady at RiteAid told me that the majority of the scams where they want this type of payment card, which can't be traced, so you're just out the money, comes from New York. I would have lost $3,000.00. I haven't had any problem with this again, this was just an aside as how these payment cards work. They tell you which drugstores or grocery stores to go to to get them. RiteAid quit carrying them.
Thinking back, this is about the 4th or 5th time I have had a phone call supposedly from the IRS. I have never called anyone back. My husband and I are Senior Citizens.

Phone number 760-587-3906 calls with an automated message saying they are the IRS and that they have been trying to reach you because you are being investigated and to call back. When you call back it sounds like a call center, I did not get far with the person. I asked them if it was a scam and the guy cursed me off.

Person calls and claims they are from the IRS stating that they are suing you. When you ask for more information or refuse to give them your personal information they hang up on you. I called the number back to get more information on who this actually was and I was threatened that the IRS would be at my location in 45 minutes to arrest me. I was given the name of Officer Jack Williams, badge #IRM2512
