- Burkburnett, TX, USA

I received a call with a prerecorded message stating it was the social security administration. It went on to say that my ssn had been used for fraud and this would be the last notification before it was sent to a federal magistrate. Press 1 to speak with someone. I pressed 1 and a man came on the phone and said he was with the social security administration. He knew my first and last name and asked if I knew my ssn. I responded yes, but do you? I then informed him I was going to record the call and pass it on to the ScamPulse.com and he hung up

- Abilene, TX, USA

- Cleveland, OH, USA

Two calls from this number, no message.

On my work phone and I do get calls from this area code so I called back.

Foreign accent, this is the Social Security Administration my name is "Oscar"....gave last name, I can't remember. Badge number .......

The asked for my name and I hung up.

- Oakland, CA, USA

They keep calling in my work line and saying they are SSA, trying to make me believe that, either have indian (east asisn accent) or american english speakers

Received a call stating that my SS# was being disabled due to suspicious activity. I know it is a scam, because SSA will not call. I want to make sure the ScamPulse.com and consumers are aware this is going around.

- Lake Hiawatha, NJ, USA

Michael Carter called indicating my social security was identified as part of a criminal investigation in Texas. Us Marshall discovered documents in an investigation. Gave me a case ID number and the address of the Baton Rouge social security office. I hung up after I realized this may be a fraudulent call. The caller had an accent but used michael as his name. I realized the phone number calling was similar to my cell phone and showed as New Jersey.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I received a call from an 806 number and a man said that my social security information was found in the back of an SUV by the border and that there was blood and the vehicle was involved in crime. So I thought that was not true so he continued to give me a batch number and an address in San Antonio, Tx in Bexer County. He asked if the police had contacted me yet. He acted like he transferred me to a number and the lady asked me for my social security information and I knew that it was a scam.

- Abilene, TX, USA

Received a call from the above# in Florida stating that there were issues with my SS# and I was going to be arrested. I know it is a scam and you'll want to look into it.

- Roxboro, NC, USA

Automated call

Had to press one to connect to a person. This is the second call of this kind. It says that my Social Security number has been fraudulently used. But then asked me to verify my information by first giving my name. I refused. They asked if my name was Angela Parks (former owner of this number over 10 years ago) I said no. They asked if I knew an Ashley P. Reed. (My unmarried name also 10 years old information). I repeated the question back to him and he said okay and hung up. He sounded like he was from India maybe.

- Soperton, GA, USA

Got a machine call about Social Security Administration trying to say my social security information was stolen. 478-299-7696

- Eden Prairie, MN, USA

Recorded call about fraudulent use of my SS#. Needed a call back at 281-694-4157 immediately to straighten it out or they would be forced to issue an arrest warrant. 4 hours later received the same call with the same information and demand. What was different about this phishing attempt was that they provided a "department" call back number. Normally these calls are looking to gather information on the initial call.

- Mccall, ID, USA

They call giving you a number to call back on to ensure your Social Security number does not get cancelled immediately. I called to tell them to remove me from their call list. The person responded by telling me I had called them. So, I said to take me off of their automated system's call list. They said something in another language and hung up on me. I called back two more times, and two different people answered. One hung up before I could finish making my request. The other hung up when I began to ask for a supervisor.

I received multiple calls from this 'business' suggesting that they are the "Social Security Agency". The specific message from them was:

Please call the Social Security number the moment that you receive this message. I need you to get back to me on my department division number that is 719-836-8892, I repeat 719-836-8892. Now if I don't hear a call from you we will have to issue an arrest warrant under your name and get you arrested, so get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you.

I called them back to demand that they remove my phone number following multiple calls from them. When I told the "service representative" that I was reaching out to the Better Business Bureau, he said "I don't care, go ahead". Which he again repeated to me. I told him that if he called me again, I would be seeking an attorney to send them a cease call request. Again he said, "I don't care, go ahead".

- Roxboro, NC, USA

Caller said he was Eric Matthews, sounded like he was possibly from India. Called from a Raleigh, NC number but said the office was in San Antonio Texas. He said the whole street address very quickly and I didn't catch it. He knew my full name and once he confirmed my name he hung up the call. Probably because I asked too many questions.

it was a recording that said i needed to call back or they would have me arrested. I didn't call back.

Called my 85 year old mother telling her that someone was trying to use her social security number in south Texas. She hung up on them. They called back again about 6 hours later stating the same thing and that it was very important for them to get this resolved.

- Louisville, KY, USA

I have been bombarded by calls from several different numbers but it is all the same. They identify themselves as being from the Social Security Administration and that they are going to block my SSN and driver's license because of a legal warrant. When I try to call the number back or hit whatever number to talk to a representative, they hang up. I know it has got to be a scam but a dozen calls within the last 24 hrs is a little much. Any help would be appreciated.

- Abilene, TX, USA
