I chose to answer the call and state that I wanted to talk to the "officer". When he answered, he said his name was "Officer Daniel". He asked me why I received the phone call. I said the message stated that my SS# is going to be suspended because there was fraudulent activity on my account and that I could get arrested. He asked me for my name, last 4 of my SS# and DOB. I gave him my name and spelled it and then I told him to give me the last 4 digits and DOB since they called me. He said you need to give it to me to verify my identity. I said I'm not giving you that information because this is a scam and he hung up immediately. I tried to call 301-284-0010 back and it goes right to a Verizon # as not completed as dialed.

Received phone call to my cell # - recording stating that my SS# may have been compromised. I called the number back (205-919-4503) from a landline and a woman answered and I explained that I received a phone call from her number stating that they were from the SS office. She denied making the call and said that she uses that phone for everything. I told her that I would report the call to the ScamPulse.com and that she should contact her cell provider. She did say that her cell provider is At&t.

I answered a call from my area code that was a scam. A male with a foreign accent said he was with the Social Security Administration. He asked me if I had been contacted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations? I told him no. He said that there was a car accident that involved criminal activity and my Social Security number was associated with it. In order to clear it up he was going to put me through to his supervisor. He put me on hold then he was the one that came back on but claimed to be the supervisor. He asked me to confirm the last 4 of my social security number, and my zip code. He already had my name. I gave him the last 4 numbers and my zip. Then it just didn't seem right so I hung up and called the ScamPulse.com who told me it was a scam.

Scammer said did I have a rental car in my name and they said they found hundreds of thousands of dollars in it with blood and they was trying to issue me a new social security number so I threatened them with my lawyer and they hung up on me

- Tuscola, TX, USA

Received a call stating that there was fraud regarding my SS card.

- Coatesville, PA, USA

Received a phone call that on my caller ID said it was the Better Business Bureau. When I answered the phone and automated message said that this was the Social Security administration, my Social Security number had been suspended, and both the FBI and the Social Security ministration were involved in a court case with me. I was instructed to hit the number one key to get more information. Since this sounded strange, I played along and hit the number one. I was put through to a gentleman with an Indian accent by the name of Shaun White. He asked for my name to ask who he was speaking to. I refuse to provide him with my name and I asked for a return phone number so I could call them back. He provided me with the following phone number 800-277-1213. I googled the Social Security Administration and the phone was slightly off 800-772-1213. I decided to call the number back they had originally called on listed as the BBB. When I spoke to an individual at the BBB, she asked what number I was called on 850 429 0503. She informed me that was a rollover number for the ScamPulse.com and not used for call outs. She then asked me to report this to the ScamPulse.com scam track link off the ScamPulse.com website.

Received a call, supposedly from the SSA

- Salem, OH, USA

Scammers state a legal issue and that they are with the Social Security Administration. They then ask for your social security number to verify who they are talking to.

Have repeatedly received calls for 2 weeks from someone claiming they are calling from SSA. I know they are not with SSA so I hung up before they could tell me anything else. They used the phone # (208) 870-3809.
