Received a call from this number claiming to be a department of the Social Security Administration and that my social security has been leaked and is going to be immediately suspended. I immediately knew this was a scam, but I pressed "1" to be connected to an agent. A woman with a foreign accent came onto the line and asked when I received the call. She then asked me how old I was. When I asked her "What does that matter?" in response, she hung up on me. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to report a scam call I received on my cell phone last Friday April 23. A man named Van Pearson claiming to be with Social Security. His ID number 1752. The phone number in my caller ID was 864-245-1093. He gave case number 3P501784. They were going to put a hold on my bank accounts. Something about drug dealers in Houston TX. I hung up before he could ask for personal information.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I got a call from someone claiming my social security information was being used fraudulently. I ended the call.

- Detroit, MI, USA

On 4/16 message left stating If we don't hear from you then we will be forced to take legal action against you at 12:49 noon. When, I returned the call a man identified himself as Andrew Saul, Federal ID#7426093. He asked my name, age, social security number, address, before he would share the story. He told me all my personal information and wanted confirmation. I refused to answer. My name was associated with a rental car in El Peso, Texas. Inside the car discovered 91lbs cocaine. The car was traced to an apartment in Pennsylvania, Riley, that was empty. Since there were no priors showing in my records, supply social security number to resolve the case. I stated someone will call on my behalf to discuss this with their office. He held the phone, told me to hang-up. The call ended with a message saying no one is available at this number prior to disconnecting.

Scammer. Recorded call saying this was social security administration and that someone was using my Social security number and that I needed to talk with someone right away and to press 1. I didn’t not, I hung up. It seems SS admin would send me a letter or call from a 1 800 number. Called the number back it was out of service. Tried to get my SS number

Cell Phone claiming to be Social Security. Then she calls back and speaks to an elderly lady who has no idea.

- Warren, MI, USA

The fore mentioned number called me twice this week already so I decided to pick up the third time. It’s an automated system that says my social security number has been compromised. Press number 1 to talk to social security administration. I pressed 1 and asked the gentleman what social security number he has that’s been compromised. He yelled at me and said don’t call his work and start asking questions and hung up.

Found a complaint from another website on this number, called it up and it is actually being used by the scammer, not just a spoof number. They claim to be the ssa and have a warrant out for your arrest, and also claim you need to pay them x amount for missing taxes.

- Kenner, LA, USA

THE NUMBER CALLED (THE AREA CODE IS ALABAMA), THE PERSON IDENTIFIED HERSELF AS OFFICER MARY WHITE (WITH AN OBVIOUSLY A HEAVY ACCENT). I ASKED FOR HER EXTENSION, TOLD HER THAT I WAS GOING TO HANG UP AND CALL HER BACK AT THE SOCIAL SECURITY PHONE NUMBER THAT I HAVE-AND SHE HUNG UP. FOR A MOMENT I THOUGHT THE CALL MIGHT BE REAL-SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE ELDERLY AND DEFICIENT CITIZENS ARE VICTIMIZED! MY CONTACT NUMBER IS ************  THE PHONE NUMBER IS SAVED IN MY CELL PHONE CALL LOG.

- Hartselle, AL, USA

Recorded caller advised that my social security number is being used in South Texas and to press 1 to speak to an agent at this time. Then the message advised to press 1 now. The caller waited a few seconds before finally disconnecting. The caller used a local cell phone number.

I received another scam call from Social Security. The phone number was 757-263-0839. stated my Social Security has been breached. I called the number back. A man answered Social Security. I said I'm with Homeland Security. He hung up.

They keep calling using a robot telling me my social security card is going to be "suspended" due to fraudulent activity. They ask you to press 1 to speak to someone. Normally I hang up on these, but did press 1 on the last call and learned that they knew my name (at least first and last), which I did not acknowledge.
