Consumer reported that she received a voicemail from an individual claiming to be with the IRS.  They gave the consumer a file number and asked them to return her call.  The individual asked the consumer to call them back using the phone number 206-317-9442.

A person called me on my cell phone today. He stated that his name was "Conrad Smith" from the department of Legal Affairs from the US Treasury Department. He told me that I had not paid my taxes for the month and told me to contact an attorney. The number he gave me was 786-319-9050.

I received a phone call from someone representing the IRS. He said that from the last five years I've owed $5,000.00. He said I can either pay $1,000.00 today or the police would come to my house to arrest me within 45 minutes after we hang up. They said if I don't pay the $1,000 I would be arrested and that I would need to pay for an attorney to fly down to Washington DC to represent me in this case. I decided to collect my thoughts, so I hung up without giving away my financial information and called the *** police who told me that this is a scam and to call the BBB.

I received a prerecorded phone call from a woman that sounded robotic, stating that they were from the IRS and were suing me for not paying my taxes. The phone number originated from Pena, New Mexico. It was 505-465-9164.

I personally received a phone call from a man claiming to work for the IRS. He informed me that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me and I needed to have my attorney call him back to resolve this, and send them the money, and if my attorney doesn't call then he wishes me luck. When I started to question him he hung up on me. The phone number is (786)292-3027.

Received two messages on our voice mail from caller identifying themselves as IRS. Stated IRS is filing lawsuit against us and to call this number immediately for further info. 202-476-0697 Caller ID showed "Washington DC call." Messages received 2/3/16 at 4:10 pm and 2/4/16 at 10:04 am.

I WAS CALLED ON COMPANY PHONE AND THEY LEFT A VOICEMAIL. THEY LEFT A VOICEMAIL CLAIMING THEY WERE THE IRS, AND THEY ARE OFFICIALLY FILING LAW SUIT AGAINST ME. THIS WAS THEIR FINAL WARNING. THEY LEFT A CALL BACK #, 206 451 0649. THE VOICEMAIL IS SAVED ON THE CELL PHONE.

I missed a call at 12:21 pm (202) 754-8238 received a very convincing and terrifying message stating this is the IRS criminal investigation dept. trying to reach you about a tax fraud matter please return call to 202-754-8238. I f you call it will say the same thing and if you want to speak to the criminal investigators press 1 and that's the only option when pressed it makes a weird noise and hangs up. I have blocked that number.
