When I asked direct questions they did not answer me. I called my insurance co on my house and they told me it was a scam. i called US bank home mortgage. the notice from home warranty said my home warranty on my property was about to expire. to call before 5/23/25. In the letter they sent was customer id 122pz06910.e the letter if you need that.

Letter (“Final Notice”) saying my home warranty was going to expire in just a few days and I needed to call Vicky Mercer to “activate” my warranty — or else I would be liable for “all costs associated with home repairs,” which is what it means to own a home.

A very official-looking letter was sent through postal mail, indicating that my home warranty had expired or was about to expire, and that their records indicated I had not yet contacted them to get my home warranty up to date. It was followed by a statement indicating that this would be their final attempt to notify me about the home warranty. They said failure to call would "prevent a potential lapse in coverage." The letter is carefully worded to make you believe you have an existing warranty while avoiding any distinct claims that you have anything you don't ( a pre-existing warranty). It is very deceptive. When you call the number 1-888-928-1981, they will claim that you HAD a warranty when you initially purchased the home, but were probably never told about it. They will also tell you that it is a common occurrence and that you should essentially reinstate that warranty, which they, of course, are happy to do for you.

It was a threatening letter by mail that don’t respond. I’ll lose some kind of uncle home warranty!

I didn’t call the number you posted, suspecting it was a scam and I confirmed that by searching the phone number on BBB.

I received a notice in the mail from Private Lender in the form of what looks like a check in the amount of $199.00-Allocated Waiver. “This is not a Check” is written on the bottom. Toll-Free: 1-888-751-7775. The letter informs me an important matter regarding my principal residence. Also stating my current lender “Private Lender” has the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of notice. They want me to call immediately saying it’s my final notice 1-888-751-7775.

The letter, dated 2025 (no month or year, and no business address) attempts to scare me into calling a phone number, 888-404-4504, to renew a home warranty it claims that I have. The letter is signed by Vicky Mercer, Program Director, Home Warranty Division. The letter is headed "Final Notice." It states that "This notice is to inform you that the property's warranty at [my actual home address] may be expiring or has already expired. Our records indicate that you have not contacted us yet to get your Home Warranty up to date." It further states that "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after the Expiration date of 5/9/2025." The instructions are to call the telephone number during stated hours, Central Standard Time. That's a clue as to the supposed Vicky Mercer's location.
