Home Warranty Division Reports & Reviews (241)

- Marysville, WA, USA

As stated by the previous reporter, received a very official looking letter in the mail stating "Final Notice" and that if I fail to contact them my lapse in service coverage would be my responsibility. We purchased the house and at no time was a home warranty mentioned.

- Boaz, AL, USA

I have received 10 FINAL NOTICE letters in the mail with only an 888 phone # and no return address listed. Letter is written in a threatening tone.

- Auburn, WA, USA

did not respond to letter home warranty division no company clued me in that it might be a scam

- Irons, MI, USA

I have no home warranty, from "Amber Lawrence" a program director and claims return address is "private and confidential."

- Westfield, NJ, USA

Mail with my bank listed as lender saying this is a final notice for my home warranty.

- Saint Helens, OR, USA

THEY PERSENT THEM SELFS AS IF I HAVE COVERAGE ON MY MOTHERS HOME THAT IS GOING TO LAPSE. WHEN THERE IS NO POLICY. THEY ARE PERDATORY ON THE ELDERLY!

- Seattle, WA, USA

Received a letter to my home address about the warranty. Asked me to call their number in order to continue my service coverage.

- Allen Park, MI, USA

Scammer sent a letter notifying me of a final attempt to inform me about an important matter, with a false check for 199.00 usd.

- Voorhees, NJ, USA

I've received multiple letters indicating that my home warranty is about to expire or has expired. The mortgage holder identified in the letter is not my current mortgage company I called to correct the information and to say I didn't want coverage. I was then told I would be in default.

- Bothell, WA, USA

Received the same letter as original poster from "Wade Grant". I did not call/respond.

- Woodcliff Lake, NJ, USA

Scam claiming lapse of home insurance coverage. There is NO such lapse.

- Hudsonville, MI, USA

Sent notice in mail about expiring home warranty with contact phone number. It was labeled as a final notice with an expiration date of 10/15.

I did not call the number as it was an obvious scam, but I’m sure people are often fooled by this.

- Young America, MN, USA

Listed a falsified expiring home warranty using information from the public record. Listed "Final Notice" for "Home Warranty Division" of an unspecified company. Instructed to "Please respond immediately by calling 1-877-499-4406". Contact information was "Amber Lawrence Program Director".

- Damascus, OR, USA

Received a letter saying our home warranty has or is expiring. No company listed. I have received these multiple times before. They have info about my home mortgage.

- Morris Plains, NJ, USA

This is identical to letters that others have reported. A Google search on 'Wade Grant home warranty scam' brought me to your website. I've had previous letters which I did not keep; this one was marked "Final Notice". No company name or address given, but the office hours are in CST.

I noticed the fine print about "We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder". I don't actually have a current mortgage holder--my house is paid off.

- La Fargeville, NY, USA

Letter created to appear as an official document including listing mortgage, lender. Format of letter creates a sense of urgency and implies warranty needs to be renewed. Deceptive marketing that would easily prey upon elderly or others who may not have complete understanding of their mortgage or other related information..

- Crestline, OH, USA

I received a letter from a Home Warrenty Division.Just this name.Said my warranty was expiring. So I gave my credit card number to him.He called back and I told him to cancel it.He got belligerant.I fnally told hm I will get a lawyer if he charges me.I hung up.

- Coupeville, WA, USA

Request to call 888-404-4504 to renew home warranty. Reference Customer ID: 249CK60620

- Issaquah, WA, USA

Same as Scam #833183: Double sided post card received; one side appeared to be from a Home Warranty Division, the other side appeared to indicate this was for some "dwelling...mechanical systems". Registration was required for continued protection, mechanical systems, inside/outside coverage, continual usage limit, home inspection waived. There was a Registration ID and a PIN on the card (both sides the same). WARRANTY REPLACEMENT was printed on one side. It was mailed with Postal Permit No. 1999, First Class Mail, Presorted, U.S. Postage Paid St. Louis, Mo. We did not call to get more information and we have no idea what this is for.

- Buffalo, NY, USA

Used the name of our credit union is concerning.
