- Portland, OR, USA

It was a Final Notice postal letter stating to activate an expiring home warranty by calling 800-223-9171

- Waianae, HI, USA

Received letter via US POSTAL services. Letter stated, "Our records indicate that you have not contacted us yet to get your Home Warranty up to date." A Registration Fee Voucher was attached -- Value $199.00. "Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU: 1-888-404-4504". "Notice date March 7, 2024, Contact Phone 1-888-404-4504, Record ID 0678P05887. Respond by 3/28/2024". (Letter received on 3/27/2024). I have received the same letter in the past and have ignored them, but this time I just decided to report what is an obvious scam. Only contact information was via a phone number with the prefix 888. Operating hours was listed as CST. Disclaimer at bottom of the letter "Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder. THIS IS NOT A CHECK".

- Chicago, IL, USA

I got a very official looking letter with a customer ID, expiration date, 2 phone numbers (1 for English and 1 for Spanish), info about my letter, and bolded and all caps warnings to "respond immediately."

- Groton, CT, USA

I received in the mail today, a final notice, stating that my lender stated that my warranty at my home address is expiring or already expired and to contact this telephone number immediately and if I failed to call and prevent a potential of coverage could result in being liable for all cost associated with this home

- Albuquerque, NM, USA

I received several letters from Home Warranty Division, stating that my home warranty protection was about to run out. No address, phone or website shown. They mentioned the name of my reverse mortgage company. I've never responded to any of the letters. I find them irritating and want them to stop.

- Newaygo, MI, USA

My mother, Patricia Thumser, who is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's, received mail at my home telling her that her home warranty is out of date. The company listed is Home Warranty Division. There is no return address, just a phone number. The mail has no return address and it request immediate response. the postage use mailed from 63155 Permit 5497 in the corner where a stamp should be. My mother has never lived at the house address listed but we changed her mail at the post office to my address back in August of 2023. Attached is a fee voucher for 199.00 that requires a signature for redemption. The check has the same record ID number. This paperwork has a record id: which is obviously fake but to an older person or person with limited capacity it could look real.

Another letter received from this company

- University Place, WA, USA

A mailed letter was sent to my address with my 92-year-old mother's name from a company named HOME WARRANTY DIVISION. I called the phone number in the letter (1-888-404-4504) to ask them to remove her name and address from their mailing list. After a man answered named THOMAS, he hung up as soon as I said I wanted my mother's name removed from their mailing list.

My mom has received five of these letters. I called to see if I could obtain more information. The fella on the phone told me I had to give him information to get any. He said that the Home Warranty Division represents all lenders in America. The letter looks legit except there isn't a website or email address. Their hours of operation are CST so they're not on the West Coast. Beware, it looks and feels like a scam of some kind scam, but. you will not get any information from them. They immediately use scare tactics and try to get you to commit to a new home warranty. I understand we all need to make a living, but this is outrageous.

- Nampa, ID, USA

Funny thing is I have never in my lifetime owned any house or property

It says location type: Dwelling

Component Element Carrier: Mechanical Systems

Coverage Area: INSIDE/OUTSIDE

Home Inspection: WAIVED

Usage Limit: Continual

Registration ID:029PB04672. PIN:0423

It shows me hours of operation but does not give any mailing or physical address state city or zip

Says I updated my "paperwork" and so i don't lapse in coverage for all my available components...... Leaving my home at risk for expensive repairs

RIGHT NOW IN MY LIFE I AM HOMELESS I WOULD SURE LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I LEFT A HOUSE I OWN...

My Dad keeps getting letters in the mail that sound like he MUST purchase a Home warranty. He is 88 years old. I also received a letter from same company. It is written in a way that you think you must call and that you have done something wrong. He panicked so bad when he read the letter that he had actually called them. I also called them to ask them to remove his address and the salesperson became belligerent and argumentative with me. Their contact number is 888-307-2037. The only business name listed is Home Warranty Division. Please help stop this company from hard selling/ misleading seniors or anyone else.

Thanks

No identifiable location where this scam was originated from. Only a phone number and a "Registration Fee Voucher" was received totaling $199.00. Expiration date on voucher was 10/10/202 with a Record ID #262FM01541. Single page form letter indicated "Final Notice". My name and address were on the form. No return envelope provided.

They keep sending these letter they pray on people!

I have received time sensitive mailings 8X11 white letter showing Home Warranty Division =- Immediate Response to this Notice requested, and call 888-404-4504 - Record KD 251BC12391. I called after receiving these notes every 2 to 3 months throughout the year. I also get the same requests for automobile coverage, but that has been resolved.
The letter is signed byh Wade Grant 888-404-4504 and they are asking me to call as their final attempt to notify me. I called and quickly a fake salesman starts talking and asking me "why I wish to be removed". I said like before I am not interested in paying coverage on items that are already covered by the company II bought the appliance from. He keeps talking and then goes into asking verification of my name by calling me by first name and does not move off it as he continues to repeat the first name back and forth and I refused to verify to him my full name. He keeps talking as I told him I am notifying you to cancel and do not send further mail. I told him he was a fake and I hung up./jpd

- Honolulu, HI, USA

Scammer mailed me a FINAL NOTICE for $199 to have appliances and toilet repair if needed. Said info was from my mortgage company.

- Independence, OH, USA

I keep receiving letters from the Home Warranty Division saying my home warranty is due to expire and I need to call them by September 15th. I signed up with them back in March but I believe this is a scam. A lot of my neighbors are receiving the same letters in the mail.
