Home Warranty Division Reports & Reviews – Page 9 (251)

- Woodcliff Lake, NJ, USA

Scam claiming lapse of home insurance coverage. There is NO such lapse.

- Hudsonville, MI, USA

Sent notice in mail about expiring home warranty with contact phone number. It was labeled as a final notice with an expiration date of 10/15.

I did not call the number as it was an obvious scam, but I’m sure people are often fooled by this.

- Young America, MN, USA

Listed a falsified expiring home warranty using information from the public record. Listed "Final Notice" for "Home Warranty Division" of an unspecified company. Instructed to "Please respond immediately by calling 1-877-499-4406". Contact information was "Amber Lawrence Program Director".

- Damascus, OR, USA

Received a letter saying our home warranty has or is expiring. No company listed. I have received these multiple times before. They have info about my home mortgage.

- La Fargeville, NY, USA

Letter created to appear as an official document including listing mortgage, lender. Format of letter creates a sense of urgency and implies warranty needs to be renewed. Deceptive marketing that would easily prey upon elderly or others who may not have complete understanding of their mortgage or other related information..

- Morris Plains, NJ, USA

This is identical to letters that others have reported. A Google search on 'Wade Grant home warranty scam' brought me to your website. I've had previous letters which I did not keep; this one was marked "Final Notice". No company name or address given, but the office hours are in CST.

I noticed the fine print about "We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder". I don't actually have a current mortgage holder--my house is paid off.

- Crestline, OH, USA

I received a letter from a Home Warrenty Division.Just this name.Said my warranty was expiring. So I gave my credit card number to him.He called back and I told him to cancel it.He got belligerant.I fnally told hm I will get a lawyer if he charges me.I hung up.

- Coupeville, WA, USA

Request to call 888-404-4504 to renew home warranty. Reference Customer ID: 249CK60620

- Buffalo, NY, USA

Used the name of our credit union is concerning.

- Issaquah, WA, USA

Same as Scam #833183: Double sided post card received; one side appeared to be from a Home Warranty Division, the other side appeared to indicate this was for some "dwelling...mechanical systems". Registration was required for continued protection, mechanical systems, inside/outside coverage, continual usage limit, home inspection waived. There was a Registration ID and a PIN on the card (both sides the same). WARRANTY REPLACEMENT was printed on one side. It was mailed with Postal Permit No. 1999, First Class Mail, Presorted, U.S. Postage Paid St. Louis, Mo. We did not call to get more information and we have no idea what this is for.

- Vancouver, WA, USA

Just my name and address

- Ithaca, NY, USA

Said prior contract for a Home Warranty given by third party at time of closing. Now time to renew at a cost. I put an end to the conversation at that point.

- Round Lake, IL, USA

Letter states it is important that I contact their office at 877-499-4406 to avoid any unnecessary delays in my coverage for my home warranty it states that my property address is secured by Secretary of housing and Urban and that it may be expiring or may have already expired. The top of the notice as it's a final notice and has the name Amber Lawrence as the program director. It states their operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central standard Time and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central standard Time

- Aztec, NM, USA

Final notice letter. Immediate response requested. Stating i will lose my home warranty coverage if i do not contact them immediately. States the property (my home address) secured by Michigan mutual inc.

They have sent registration fee vouchers, the latest for 199.00.

I have been receiving these letters for the last three or more years. Sometimes they come on pink paper with a final notice on the envelope.

There is never a return address or company name.

- Jackson, MN, USA

Received post card warning of lapse of home warranty unless contacting their offices at above number. Post Card had postage label of "First-Class Mail Presorted U.S. Postage Paid St. Louis, MO Permit No. 1999"

It's an obvious scam since we do not any coverage of what they're trying to sell us.

We did not try to contact them, but looked number up on internet and found this website along with scam warning.

- Spokane, WA, USA

* **** ** ******** Retirement Communities. Residents ** ******** ***** **** **** * **** **** ******** ** ***** have received letters stating that they have lapsed in their property's home warranty. The letter is their final attempt to reach them to make sure that the warranty does not lapse. Obviously they are trying to get people to pay to renew this bogus policy. Expiration date of 8/19/2024 is stated on the letter

- Grants Pass, OR, USA

We received a card in the US mail from Home Warranty Division, just as was described on this site.

I received a letter from home warranty division revoking coverage. Seems to me this fraudulent company could be tracked down by permit number 699 zip code 92799.  The us post office should cancel their account and the fake business should be shut down

- Rutherford, NJ, USA

Mail from Amber Lawrence saying final notice for home warranty.

- Cuyahoga Falls, OH, USA

I received a letter in the mail that looks and reads very official stating that it is a final notice to respond to renew my Home Warranty. Among other things it says that "Failure to call and prevent a potential lapse in coverage could result in you being liable for all costs associated with any home repairs.... " At the top it reads FINAL NOTICE in all-caps and bold and ask to respond immediately by calling 1-888-404-4504. It is signed by Wade Grant, Program Director. This letter has an urgency tone and would make anyone, especially elderly people, fear their home warranty has expired. It was addressed specifically to me and has my personal information which made it seem legitimate. It uses a customer ID number and has a bar code as if its a government document. I did not give them any money but please look into this to possibly save someone else the heartache.

- Honolulu, HI, USA

Letter says "It is important you contact our office at 1-888-404-4504 upon receiving this notice to avoid any unnecessary delays in your coverage before 7/24/2024" in first paragraph. Further down in paragraph 5 it states, "Failure to call and prevent a potential lapse in coverage could result in you being liable for all costs associated with any home repairs...." It is signed, "Wade Grant Program Director" and the operating hours are "Monday-Friday 7 am - 7 pm CST". We did not respond. This appears to be a scam as identifying information on the company (no logo, no header with address, etc.) is missing. It looks sort of legitimate and even has a customer ID number, a barcode, and expiration date of tomorrow (received letter today) so that it invokes a sense of urgency to respond. Not falling for that. Be aware that this is probably some kind of mass mailing going around.
