I am constantly getting 5-10 phone calls a week, from various numbers telling me that they are from Microsoft windows and that my computer is sending them error reports. I have asked them not to keep calling that they are not getting access to my computer. When I tell them I am contacting the BBB they call me an [censored] and hang up. I told one of them the other day not to call back and was informed that he would continue to call and calling back he did. It is always a man that calls and the name varies ( John, Peter) and can always hear background noise.

I received a call on my business cell phone (xxxxxxxx) at 5:16am on 3/1/17. I answered the call because we sometimes have emergency calls especially after snow/ice storms for trees down etc. Some of our customers have out of state cell phone numbers. The caller had an Indian accent and said he was calling from Microsoft and he was calling to let me know my computer was sending reports that it had been compromised while I was on the internet recently. I was mad and said "Do you know what time it is here?" He apologized and said "can I continue?". I was tired and said "Yes". Then I realized it was a potential scam and quickly hung up. That was the entire dialog of the phone call. It is too soon to tell if they will try to fraudulently bill me for anything.

It gives me a message said my computer is blocked and wanted me to call 1844-820-1198. Someone pick up the phone and pretend to be a Microsoft technician and wanted me to install a 'tool" on my computer to "fix the problem".

i received a phone call yesterday. a indian sounding gentleman claiming to represent microsoft windows (he ask for me by my first and last name) . says my internet has been hacked and someone is stealing my identity. he can help walk me thru the procedure of putting a stop to it ... so a few simple instructions later,he has remote access to my computer. he's showing me what type of virus i have and how hackers are stealing my info.and how many hackers are using my info.says that says the virus is called aleouron or something simular to that and shows me the definition. says that my firewall has crashed. this all appeared to me to be free and the gentleman assured me he could fix the problem and i had no suspicion UNTIL. he wrote down my instructions on a notepad. i explained i didn't have the funds at the time of the conversation. but i will have fund available the next morning. the gentleman says that's fine says he will fix everything and call me back..so i hang up, and i can see he is controlling my computer for 30 min. he calls back. shows me how my computer is running great now and i can purchase a firewall the next morning. i am not going to answer. but scared for my computer.

Scammer called our home phone number and stated they were from microsoft. They said microsoft had received errors from our computer and someone was trying to access our computer. They wanted us to go into the computer controls and enter codes they would give us.

Asked about my computer if I was the owner and micro soft.

- East Syracuse, NY, USA

I answered the phone saying yes. I want to make it clear that I did not order anything from this company. I know there is a scam out there that if you say yes they try and stick you with a product or service. they claimed to be Microsoft Security Monitoring. Asked if I was the owner of the computer. I stated I was on a "do not call list" then hung up.

Phone call was answered by our machine. Indicated the call was from Microsoft and it was urgent that we call because the Microsoft license had expired.

I called geek squad at Best Buy since I have tech support contract with them.

They advised it was a scam to take over computer and add viruses, etc.

A robot/recording called claiming to be Microsoft responding to disturbing informaron from my computer. They used the following numbers: 9492811132 and 9492811226.

- Appleton, WI, USA

Typical IT scam call from "Microsoft" stating my hard drive had viruses, which he offered to remove for a lifetime fee of $199 via my credit card. I did give him my credit card number. I have since cancelled that credit card and received a new number from my credit card company.

- Southport, NC, USA

They called and identified the computer ID off of my computer and stated that there were many Microsoft software programs were "stopped" and as such there was a breech of my fire wall. Then they transferred me to a technician who then wanted me to allow them into my computer utilizing a program at the following web address: www.microsoft.aios.us and then they wanted me to allow access and then hit Supremo. When I refused to allow them access and told them that I was reading the caution statement they then insisted that they were with Microsoft and I told them that I was hanging up and calling Microsoft and they insisted that they were Microsoft and that I did not need to call Microsoft. If you go to this webpage you will note the lack of Microsoft icons except on the name tags of the two people pictured. The products pictured that they claim support for were all older versions except for the Windows Office logo. This is what led me to believe that they were not valid organization plus the fact that they claimed to be from Seattle but no on that I spoke with not that I could hear in the background either. They hung up as son as I spoke to my daughter about what was going on and I told her I was being scammed.

Our screen was locked with a message that the Zeus virus had been detected. The message behind that screen indicated the harddrive would be deleted unless immediate action was taken. We were unable to get out of the screens, and called the number noted.

Access to our system was provided until we realized that access to our banking info was being requested.

While it is easy to dismiss (and hang up on) the fake "microsoft" telephone calls indicating problems with one's computer, when the scammers actually are able to invade your online activity and threaten harddrive deletion, those of us who are less expert (and perhaps too trusting) are sucked into providing access.

I called this number because I googled a Microsoft support number and this number came up. I called and there was a Microsoft prompt asking telling me which options to choose to fix whatever issue I had. after waiting on hold for several minutes, a man answered the phone and asked me what my issue was. He asked for my email address associated with my Microsoft acct. I told him my problem, which was not being able to access xbox live, he told me to ple[censored]d. After holding again for several minutes he told me that he would be able to fix my issue for a $49.99 fee (which he did not explain what it was for). This makes no sense because I did not create the issue in the first place so why would I have to pay a fee when I pay for xbox live every month. He then tried to hang up on me when I told him I wasn't going to pay anything. When I asked him why are you going to hang up on me simply because I am refusing to pay without giving me the option to speak to someone else.

Received daily calls for several weeks from "Windows" or "Microsoft" - heavy Indian accents, loud background chatter, told me they were calling from various U.S. cities. Was told my computer had a virus, they would fix it if I gave them my computer password. I declined to do so. Some became abusive, one screaming "I can [censored] you up!" repeatedly, another threatening to show up at my house to "get" me - I laughed at them. Finally starting telling them I didn't OWN a computer - the calls stopped almost immediately.

The caller says they are "A certified Microsoft partner company". They try to tell you that you have a serious computer virus. We have not let them speak long enough to listen to their entire spiel.

The phone number is blocked.

The man speaking has an India/Pakistan manner of speech, there is a loud cacophony of others speaking at the same time, obviously a call center. He tells you he is in NY. He uses an authoritative manner of speaking and talks over you if you try to talk.

This scam is listed by Microsoft as being a scam to take control of your computer, there is NO connection to Microsoft. We have received calls for the past two weeks even after telling them not to call again.

i had just purchases my new laptop about a week ago. i was online paying bills, had my bank account website open, had my credit card website open as well to make a payment ( i had opened a second window). i had just logged out and closed my credit card window when i get a pop up window that says i have a virus on my computer , it said it was Microsoft to call this 855 # and they will help. my bank window was frozen , i couldn't shut it down. i called the number and a guy that barley spoke English answered. i told him what had happens. he asked me for the error code, i gave him what was on the screen. He asked me to go to the start menu and type in letters. so i started to type what he asked and i could not understand him. i asked him to repeat a few letters and he got very condensing with me. i scolded him back and told him that i couldn't understand him . he put his "manager" Ashley on the phone. i was on the phone with her for over an hour. the virus was called ZEUS i think if i remember correctly. by the time i was done with her, my system drivers had been damaged, microsoft software had been damaged, then all the software had been damaged. i told her that i was going to just take the PC back to where i bought it and get a new one. it was only a week old so i have warranty. Ashley told me that it wasnt my pc that was bad, it was my network.....well luckily my husband and my mother in law were home and ihad Ashley on speaker. my husband called my brother in law who happens to know a thing or 2 about PC's . Ashley about had me talked into a 1x good for 5 years $599.99 to generate a license to get me a firewall to protect my PC. my brother in law told us to get the name and number of the person i was talking too. i asked Ashley if i needed to make a decision RIGHT NOW on this, she said yes, she asked why i was hesitating...i said its a lot of money and this PC is brand new. Once my husband told me it was a scam, i told Ashley that i needed her phone number and i will call her back. she gave me 855-811-6366 case Number MICR78600. she tried to get my phone number to call me back and i told her no that i would call her back........these people almost got me for over $600.00. i dont think i am a dumb person, but when you are talked to like that, and i am not PC savy per say, they can talk you into anything....dont have an attachment as i closed everything down. just wanted to report it. i cant fill in the fields cause i dont know where they are located.

Pop up window appeared while using Internet and advised me to contact Microsoft immediately about a security breach on my system. Phone number given was 888-408-0961 which was an answering machine. Pop up does not go away even after the system has been turned off and restarted.

Caller say's they are Microsoft & says there is a problem with your windows software. If they can get you to sign on, they will fix it. Hang up, do not sign on... THIS IS A SCAM TO GET CONTROL OF YOUR COMPUTER.

MICROSOFT HAS BILLIONS OF CUSTOMERS, THEY WOULD NEVER TRY TO CALL ALL OF THEM!!!!
