I did not answer the call because I didn’t recognize the number. However, voice message was left indicating they were calling from Amazon to verify authorization of a purchase of a new iPhone 16 in the amount of $999 and to press the number two if I had authorized the purchase on my Amazon account. I called the number back and the collar sounded as if she was calling from Africa. She repeated basically what the automated message said to which I responded. I did not have an Amazon account and had not authorize this purchase in this appeared to be a scam call and or fraud. I indicated that between returning the call I had already notified my bank would be filing a police report and reporting to Amazon since I knew someone that worked there. She then went on to provide a claim number and asked if I wanted her to make a report to the Social Security administration on my behalf to which I said no, I knew how to follow up on this myself as this was a scam. she then provided me an address of 49 Arcadia Court in Albany, New York as the delivery address for the phone, but indicated the purchase would not be approved as it had not been authorized. I could tell by the way she was speaking that this in fact was not a call from Amazon and I wanted to make it clear to her that I was aware that this was a fraud or a scam and would be reported as such. I then went online to search for this address and came up on the BBB‘s post with a circumstance, very similar to mine. So I felt the need to share my experience for others to be forewarned. This the Claim I’d, the “rep’s” name and mailing address for the alleged order.

I received a voicemail from a female from Amazon asking if I authorized $999.99 IPhone, if I did not authorize it to them call back and press 1. I proceed to call, I I Ron them I did not authorize anything and I don’t order anything Amazon, she proceeds to tell me I need to speak to Social Security because they see 7 credit cards from 7 banks under my name so she passes me to Social Security & Ryan Williams gives me case #SN60701 as he will be working on my case, he tells me they were laundering money and buying goods and sending them to Mexico etc.

He proceeds to tell me they’ve already sent $100,000 in my name but they know it’s not me due to location and etc.

He passes me to US Marshall’s, Richard Lee badge#B4IE70115 tells me he’s looking for these people and for next 2 days don’t make any transactions or open accounts.

This sounds like the story I just read and I’m so concerned now.

On 5/9/25 I was ordering from Amazon online when my debit card needed to be changed in the system. So I change the card in the system to my new card. Everything went thru except one item and when I tried to change the card for this order it kept not accepting the change. So I went to the chat to ask for help and the lady said she could help me. After she tried sending 1.00 to my bank I said it did not go through so she said she would call me back to show m on my phone what to do. She called me right back and we tried a different card. I started being frustrated when she asked me to go to bitcoin for $1.00 but since she had tried $1.00 to my bank I thought maybe this would work and my card for amazon would work. By the time my cash card was used again I bulked but that's when she gave me her name and number. In hindsight I should have asked for her supervisor but everything was happening so fast I wasn't thinking clearly. By the time I hit the key I knew I had been scammed. I went to the bank but they said I had to wait till it cleared to dispute it. My daughter told me today if I had told her when it was still pending she could have denied it and it would not have gone through.

I awoke this morning with my credit card and bank card being used fraudulently through the Amazon website. I had to contact Capital One and my bank to report the fraudulent charges. These two companies had frozen my accounts and issued new cards to me. I called Amazon twice to report that both cards were being used by their company illegally.

I ordered a product on Amazon. After the order a text message appeared on the website stating my account was placed on hold and advised me to call 833-656-9199 which I did. I was told someone had ordered 2 gift cards and asked if it was me. I said no. They asked me to enter several areas of settings which I did. I later discovered they then had access to my computer. They then showed me a photo that showed several of my credit cards and my bank account showing the last 4 numbers of those accounts. I questioned if this was a scam. They told me Amazon never calls customers and I called them which I did call the number I was given. They then asked me to open my bank account. I immediately ended the call. I checked with my bank account and my credit card company and was told I had no charges and that I was right it was a scam. I then changed all my passwords and deleted all credit card information from all on line accounts as I was advised to do by the credit card company. It is a pain to have to enter the information every time you place an order, but it is too risky to be scammed if you leave it on line. I hope this helps others to avoid this issue.
