I received a call at 10:07am from a woman who said her name was Irisha Black from Amazon Customer service. she gave me her Amazon employee Id number AMZ770251 then proceeded to say that she was calling to say that there was suspicious activity on my Amazon account. that someone from Albany New York had created a second account from my original account and purchased an Apple Book Pro laptop and Apple Blu tooth device and that the package was being delivered to a place in New York. the total cost was $1537.35. she went on to explain that there were multiple accounts now from my account in Texas. all of this kept me off balance and thinking from a fear point and not on what to do when something does not sound right. when she said I had to report this to the FCC to get this cleared up and made the connection I hung up. I called Amazon and they said they never call like this. I reported this to their Fraud department.

Scammer called (it was a recording) using one of our local town numbers

Said they were Amazon and the order I placed this morning was uncertain...it was for over $1000

If I want it, hit a certain key and then I guess they would want a form of payment.

I hung up and called Amazon and they said it was definitely a scam - that they would never call and

I had no such order. So they told me to pass this info on to you. Hope it helps in some way.

Scammer called indicating a charge to my credit card was made today with Amazon.com in the amount of $1,000.00, and if this was not me to select one to stop payment. I did not make any such Amazon charge today, and since the number was a 585-402-2817 #, and I have never received a call from Amazon before; I hung up. Re-called, and a voice message indicated for me to leave a message, but the message did not say you have reached Amazon, just leave a message.

She looked up the number for Amazon Prime, and called it: 202-326-7302. They claimed to be Amazon Prime and stated that she had multiple accounts with Amazon. They had just delivered a bunch of laptops and a printer and cell phones. She had not ordered any of those and she also does not have an amazon account at all. They gave her the number to the "FTC" at 619-257-0007. She called them and gave them her SS # as well as a little information about her bank before she realized it was a scam.

PERSON CALLED SAYING SHE WAS FROM AMAZON FRAUD DEPT

- Long Island City, NY, USA

Received an automatic phone call that there was a charge for a Macbook Air on my Amazon account and if this was a suspicious activity. Gave me an option to speak to a rep by pressing 1. Pressed 1 and a guy answered. I said there was a suspicious activity that I did not purchase. He answered "the Joke is on you" and hanged up the call.

I purchased pallets from Amazon on Facebook. I never received. They said I received the package. I am disabled and never leave my house. I have photos of my transactions. A guy named Kevin is now texting me from an iPhone saying I got my package. When they put up the same ad yesterday on Facebook I stated they did not ship and till this morning would not answer my messages. They removed all ads since I called them out yesterday. Something is very wrong.

I was trying to register my Amazon fire tv stick. I went to the website. Given and after following directions I was given a phone number to call. The female with a Middle Eastern accent Proceeded to talk me through the registration and gave me directions on a few steps to take. And before I knew it, she had full access to my phone and all my payment accounts. Truist, Zelle and Cash app. I expressed I was uneasy with her having access to these and she assured me it was Amazon's way of securing my account. All while giving me instructions on setting up my fire stick. All of a sudden I noticed she was controling what was on my phone and I asked her what she was doing and she hung up the phone. I then contacted my bank and put a freeze on my bank account and online banking. Uncertain of what else to do and about other accounts that she might possibly be able to access, and what to do about her having access to my phone.

Person called claiming to be Amazon verifying a suspicious purchase. Male with phillipines accent, sounded like he was in a call center. Asked me if I had purchsased a MacBook for $1400, I said no and he told me my account had been hacked, asked a bunch of somewhat innocuous questions, gave me a case number, then transferred me to "Amazon's fraud department." The woman in the "fraud department" also had a phillipines accent. She asked for case number, then said she needed to make sure she was speaking to the real me so she asked for my social security number and date of birth which I provided. She started asking me questions about the credit cards linked to the Amazon account, when I asked why she needed that info she hung up.

ANother phone number they gave me was800-953-2015. Want to protect elderly people, considering calling news

Sent an email titled "Re : We detected unusual activity on your account" knew it was fake as soon as I saw the email. Seems like a students email address. I am from the UK. I was told this is the best website to report this kind of thing. Only things I could put in is US/Canada :(

I received a cell phone message that my "card" had been charged $743.32 for products at the Amazon store.

In order to stop this transaction I needed to call 1-866-445-1735 and cancel order # 614058. When I called an "Indian" speaking man

who just said, "hello" and did not identify himself, and told me I needed to be transferred to another department. He took down my message that I

wanted Order # 614058 cancelled. We were then disconnected when he attempted to transfer me to the "other department".

The funny thing that tipped me off was that he didn't spell Amazon correctly. Plus he answered the phone, "Hello".. no company name on the introduction.

- Daly City, CA, USA

Got a call from someone who said they were from amazon. They stated that they wanted to verify a phone purchase. I did not purchase a phone they said they needed my account information to take the funds out for the phone. The caller said her name was Janice

I was trying to set up my Alexa when I received an error message that told me to call a number. I thought the number was for Smazon but the person told me to sign into a website where he could control my phone. He told me he was unable to access my phone but the screen was scrolling as if someone was in charge of my screen. I hung up and called back but he never identified as Amazon, he answered the phone as if it were a personal call. I called another customer service number and got my issue resolved but I did sign into a system for a brief moment.

Said it was Amazon and they were reporting a fraudulent purchase on my account
