I was applying for a passport on a website called“Uspassportandvisa.org” they were very convincing in how they had their website designed. It looked like I was on a government site and they also had the official DS-11 form to fill out as well. Upon filling out the document it asked for my social security number my address and then when you go to submit they asked for a fee of $85.53. They make it seem like they’re submitting your info for you so you can receive your passport in the mail, this is far from the truth. They instead take your money and refill a document for you with information you gave them, a document that is otherwise free that you have to refill out anyways when you actually try to get your passport, you will also still need to pay the full passport fee. This site literally just copy and pastes information you gave them into the government documents. Who knows what they do with your data, I fear they may compromise my information and sell it on a black market or try to perform other nefarious actions.

I was attempting to apply for my passport online, choosing the USAPassportandVisa.org website after a general online search because it was one of the first websites listed, it mimicked government official websites, and ended in .org address. The website collected highly sensitive personal information, including full legal name, parental information, contact information, and social security number. It requested a $64.88 payment, which I paid under the false impression that I was paying for the official passport application to be submitted. This was not the case as after payment, I received a downloadable "application packet" that indicated my next steps were to submit the actual application. It was at this time that I realized the deception of the website and the "service". My banking account immediately contacted me about a possible fraudulent transaction concern from the business name "easy-form-filler.com" and assisted me in initiating the process of refuting the purchase. My bank also confirmed the questionable nature of this business and indicated that there was no contact information listed on the website to reach customer service. I am now concerned about possible identity theft concerns from the delicate information shared through this process.

I attempted to renew passport online, I got tricked by the name of this business/website, making it seem like a government site. The renewal process asked for personal information and a payment. I didn't realize until after the transaction was completed that it was not a .gov website and I may have potentially given out my information to fraudulent party. I called the number on the form to have my money returned, the customer service rep stated the money would be returned and got an email confirming this. however with some research it seems the website/business is a possible scam and people never received their money back.

Hosts a website that is promoted on google, came up as the first suggestion when looking for the passport application. had you fill out information on a fake US passport application such as SSN name, DOB, and other personal information. then charges $85 for processing fee, and emails you the US passport form.

I heard you could now renew passports online, so I clicked on the first website to do so which was US passport and visa.org. It looked like a normal application so I filled it out accordingly. It charged me $67 and when I went to print the application, I was wondering why I still had to pay an additional $130. The $130 goes to the Department of State to renew the new passport. They scammed me out of $67 and I included extremely sensitive information, including my SS number, passport number, address and credit card number. My bank claimed can't do anything because they argued I authorized the transaction. This is a horrible business that needs to be closed immediately.

Website indicates processing passport renewal when it is in fact just filling out a form and providing it in a printable format. The fees paid are indicated to be for renewal and not for form preparation.

Thought I was on the official state department website. While the site does populate the correct forms needed, it isn't something that you have to pay for. You pretty much pay for prefilled forms and a postage label. Wouldn't accept my credit card, so I entered my debit card and it went through. I ended up with a charge on both cards. Don't know what they will do with my personal information now.

After doing a Google search for passport renewal online, I was directed to a website that (I realized too late) was impersonating a government site, but was in fact NOT a legit government site.

They asked for personal identifying information (address, parents names, SSN, etc.) which I stupidly provided, and then charged $88 to process the application. I didn't realize until I went to print the application at work that the fee I paid was NOT the actual renewal fee, as the instructions told me to include a check or money order when I mailed the form and previous passport to the processing center.

The website is purposely deceptive and made to look like the Government website and after it takes your money it provides no way to get in contact with them to rectify the situation.
