Website indicates processing passport renewal when it is in fact just filling out a form and providing it in a printable format. The fees paid are indicated to be for renewal and not for form preparation.

Fake passport application site. Do not trust any site without .GOV in the handle for government docs. Cost me 86 dollars and I'm monitoring my credit. WHY IS THIS A SPONSORED GOOGLE SEARCH RESULT?

- Nashville, NC, USA • May 06, 2025

Thought I was on the official state department website. While the site does populate the correct forms needed, it isn't something that you have to pay for. You pretty much pay for prefilled forms and a postage label. Wouldn't accept my credit card, so I entered my debit card and it went through. I ended up with a charge on both cards. Don't know what they will do with my personal information now.

- Elkton, MD, USA

they took money by pretending to be a govt site. I paid them stupidly. I am trying to cancel the cc transaction but might not be able to.

- Altadena, CA, USA

After doing a Google search for passport renewal online, I was directed to a website that (I realized too late) was impersonating a government site, but was in fact NOT a legit government site.

They asked for personal identifying information (address, parents names, SSN, etc.) which I stupidly provided, and then charged $88 to process the application. I didn't realize until I went to print the application at work that the fee I paid was NOT the actual renewal fee, as the instructions told me to include a check or money order when I mailed the form and previous passport to the processing center.

- Hyattsville, MD, USA

The website is purposely deceptive and made to look like the Government website and after it takes your money it provides no way to get in contact with them to rectify the situation.

- Huntington Beach, CA, USA

I used the first website the Google populated that I at first thought was a government site. After seeing that this website company noted they are not affiliated with any government entity I thought they were a 3rd party processor, such as: FedEx or AAA. I input all of my personal information including where I was born, birthdate, social security, where I live, whom I'm married to, my parents information. I processed the application and went to the next page that required payment for submission. When I included my form of payment the website told me that I had insufficient funds. I tried to process it again, since my form of payment had more than enough funds, and the website said it for the second time - insufficient funds. It wasn't until then did I suspect it was fraud. I searched for reviews on uspassportandvisa.org that and see that there are many other people complaining about fraud from this company. If this company is illegitimate this company should be taken down immediately so this doesn't happen to a minimum of thousands more people. I am extremely concerned that my personal information is going to be used for fraudulent activities. Please help to shut this so called company down. Thank you!

Collected all means of personal identifiable information including SSN, current and former names, address, contact info, parents' names, spouse's name and contact information, passport dates, etc. in order to fill forms needed for renewing a passport. Charged $67.88 then sent forms (which are FREE at government website or at PO) and forms required the additional $130 fee for passport processing that is actually paid to the US government.

- Rapid City, SD, USA

I was applying for a passport and since it was a .org I thought it was a legitimate website. I was wrong.

- Simpsonville, SC, USA

In attempting to renew my passport online, I visited the website USpassportandvisa.org, believing this to be a legitimate application portal. All indications were that I was completing an official application. I completed extensive personal information including passport number and ssn not realizing this was not an official service provider of the US passport office. The website’s coloring, branding, and wording look official. Along with the fee, it also asked if I needed expedited processing and if I would like to include the postal fee as to not have to do this separately-again, everything seemed official and applicable to passport renewal. It was only after I had submitted payment and received a message that I needed to print the form and submit photo and renewal fee of $130 to the passport office that I realized this was a scam. I am now concerned that an unknown entity has my personal information and I’ve significantly increased my chances of identity fraud. When trying to email the company, I received a bounce back stating that the address cannot be found or cannot receive email.

- San Diego, CA, USA

Same process as others - looks like an offical passport renewal site and is top of the list of google search, but just fills out forms for you that you can do online for free. Also less concerned with the ~$70 as I am with my SSN being used.

DONT DO THIS STUFF WHILE DISTRACTED (I was on the phone and not paying too much attention)

- San Francisco, CA, USA

https://uspassportandvisa.org/ showed up as a very legitimate website for passport renewal. It was a sponsored result and I clicked on it without thinking. They took my DOB and location, credit card, SSN, parents' DOBs and locations, and old passport book number.

- Chicago, IL, USA

This site claims to support passport renewal. I accidently clicked on it and thought it was legit.

- Gilroy, CA, USA

I was attempting to renew my passport online. I did not realize that the link I clicked on(uspassportandvisa.org) was not the official government website. I paid for renewal, and simply received my forms filled out. They asked for extensive personal information including social security number and parental information. I'm very worried that sensitive information will be used for identity theft in the future.

- Davenport, FL, USA

I looked up apply for US passport on a google search and this .org webpage came up and looked almost legit since I thought .orgs were safe, clicked it put in lots of personal important info SS# parents info, spouse's info and submitted. It automatically sent me to a payment page where now I knew the site was fake because it looked off. I stopped looked up their contact info and there was none where it reads contact us. They ask for your info so they may contact you instead. Now I'm afraid they have my info and my identity could be taken.

- Plainfield, NJ, USA

Needed to renew my passport. Seemed like a reputable site. Asked for the normal questions needed to renew a passport and charged me $67 just to fill out the form I could have filled out online. I thought it was the actual passport process.

- Montclair, NJ, USA

I thought I was on the website to renew my passport. They took $68 to fill out a form for me. I was rushing and didn't realize this is not a government site and gave them very personal information
