The website posed as passport application/renewal, and took my money as a renewal fee.

- Zimmerman, MN, USA • May 28, 2026

Thought we were getting a passport through a legit website and when paying thought the cost was for the passport but ended up being some pdf of the info we submitted. Also gave private and personal info.

- Ashville, OH, USA • May 26, 2026

how is it even legal to allow this website to pretend to be the US passport renewal

- Houlton, ME, USA • May 23, 2026

This website posed as gov website to process passports/visas. No services rendered and is trying to obtain $169.12 for passport renewal and TSA fees for no services. I have tried to dispute the charges. Website is a fraud and information placed into website could ruin me financially. Needs to be taken off of the internet.

Third party government site

- Rocklin, CA, USA • May 18, 2026

I was trying to renew my passport and I gave all my passport information and SSN, address, everything and I found out that website is not a legit website cause I just paid $111.12 for the services and it’s asking me to pay again for $150

https://uspassportandvisa.org/ - Shows up as the very first Google sponsored website when a person googles for "Passport Renewal." It asked for SSN, Mother's Maiden Name, Phone Numbers and completely looks like an official government account. Its own practice is to make it seem like you are paying completely for the filing fee.

- Aurora, CO, USA • May 15, 2026

This is the first website that comes up when you search passport renewal and they make you believe you are paying a fee for the actual passport when really it's for them to send you an application that's free online. They do request your SSN and credit card info.

- Belle Vernon, PA, USA • May 15, 2026

Website requires payment and personal information to complete the service of acquiring a passport when that service is not provided and documents are free. Personal information entered into website, possible fraud, identity theft

- Crownsville, MD, USA • May 13, 2026

The scamming company is a "sponsored" link on google search. They are posing as a company which is doing your passport renewal for you. All they do is fill in a form. Absolute scam. Others should be warned. Sure, Caveat Emptor and all that, but this is an absolute scam. I can't believe I got screwed by them. $111 for nothing. This needs to be pulled from Google search. Absolutely ridiculous that this stuff is allowed.

- Clermont, FL, USA • May 08, 2026

I thought this website was the official website to renew a passport. Instead, it charged me over $100 to fill out an application that I could have filled out on the official .gov website for free. The application asked for my home address and social security number.

- Orlando, FL, USA • May 07, 2026

Googled renewing passport online. This is an intentionally deceiving site that takes your money but only fills out forms that are easy and free on the real government website. You pay a lot of money for something that is free and make no real progress in the passport renewal. Intentional deception and fraud.

- Buffalo, NY, USA • May 05, 2026

The US Passport and Visa website I asked and got personal information out of me such as social security number, address, bank information, name, birth date, and more.

- Denver, CO, USA • Apr 21, 2026

Website claiming to be the official website to renew passport.

- Virginia Beach, VA, USA • Apr 19, 2026

When you google US Passports to either order or renew your passport, this website appears as the first listing and it is a sponsored listing. When you click the website, it seems official and it asks you for all the PII needed to complete your passport application, including social security number, parents, wife, etc. Then you pay them the money and that is when the scam becomes apparent. You are thinking that you are doing the application, then it says here is a filled-in passport application and you need to manually calculate the fees and then pay the US government. That is when I realized it was a scam. Now I am out the money, all of my PII, and still need to apply for a renewed passport.

I thought I was renewing my passport, and they took my money through credit card and didn't put it through to the passport renewal.

- Henrico, VA, USA • Apr 16, 2026

This website advertises that it will renew your passport online. After I entered my information and the fee, the website sent me the forms that are needed to submit to renew a passport. The instructions included all of the free paperwork, and the fee charged was not the fee required by the government.

- Bemus Point, NY, USA • Apr 15, 2026

Website looks very similar to US gov't site for passport renewal - but I didn't realize it was not the actual government site. It was the first on the search engine. I filled out significant amounts of personal information (including spouse info - which is also required on the gov't site). Also requested parent information - which I also provided (this is not required on the gov't site). As soon as I hit submit for payment, I received a fraud alert text from my credit card company, which blocked payment. Unfortunately, I anticipate the amount of personal information I foolishly provided is retained.

- New York, NY, USA • Apr 14, 2026

Misdirected to think paying information for passport renewal, providing all personal information (name, address, SSN, emergency contacts, passport information), emailed a form to print with a mailing label. Fees paid as much as passport fee, rush fee, etc. Called prior to ask about payment, and was told not to worry. Mailed application and it was returned for lack of payment. Called and was explained I paid the $220 for their service, and it is unrelated to the US Passport agency.

I was led to a fraudulent website when I was attempting to renew my son’s passport.
