Website looks very similar to US gov't site for passport renewal - but I didn't realize it was not the actual government site. It was the first on the search engine. I filled out significant amounts of personal information (including spouse info - which is also required on the gov't site). Also requested parent information - which I also provided (this is not required on the gov't site). As soon as I hit submit for payment, I received a fraud alert text from my credit card company, which blocked payment. Unfortunately, I anticipate the amount of personal information I foolishly provided is retained.

I was led to a fraudulent website when I was attempting to renew my son’s passport.

- New York, NY, USA • Apr 14, 2026

Misdirected to think paying information for passport renewal, providing all personal information (name, address, SSN, emergency contacts, passport information), emailed a form to print with a mailing label. Fees paid as much as passport fee, rush fee, etc. Called prior to ask about payment, and was told not to worry. Mailed application and it was returned for lack of payment. Called and was explained I paid the $220 for their service, and it is unrelated to the US Passport agency.

I was under the impression that I was processing my online renewal for my passport through USPassportAndVisa.org. Provided all my passport and PII data. Submitted payment. Then was given a pdf to print out and send in with an additional $130 to renew my passport.

- Grand Island, NY, USA • Apr 13, 2026

Wanted to apply for a US passport. Googled how to apply for the passport and this was the first website that appeared through google search. They are not affiliated with the government and take money for a service that is already free. I lost $104.33.

This fraudulent website will appear at the top of your search results when googling "US Passport". Their website will mimic every United States federal website you've likely ever seen. The process will feel official. Only after you've paid the fee and discovered you didn't actually pay the correct fee to the United States government, will you realize that you've just given all of your personal information to a third party site. In addition to giving all of your information, you will realize that you were just scammed out of hundreds of dollars.

This looks like the government website. I thought I was paying for the passport. No where does it say they are filing out the form for you and you still have to pay for the passport. I know you can fill this form out yourself for free. The website, USPassportAndVisa.org, is misleading.

- West Hartford, CT, USA • Apr 10, 2026

I went to renew passport and this website, USPassportAndVisa.org, was the first to come up. At a cursory glance it seemed like the legit online webiste, but after they asked me to pay $111 for the passport renewal and then sent me a form to submit to the department of state and told me so send a check when I had already paid.

- Rego Park, NY, USA • Apr 06, 2026

I went to renew my passport and clicked on the first website that came up. The website had the same colors and writing as the US Department site so it automatically looked legitimate. I clicked through the prompts to renew the passport, entering in personal information such as full name, address, SSN, phone number, email address, mothers first name and maiden last name and fathers first and last name. It also asked for both parents DOB (which I did not submit - only their names) . It asked for payment of $111.00. I submitted everything and received an email with the application that had all of my information pre-printed. And then it stated there would be another $130 to obtain the passport.

- Chicago, IL, USA • Apr 05, 2026

The website for USPassportAndVisa.org looks similar to the State Department's website for passport renewal. They asked for sensitive info regarding SSN, DOB, etc. in the disguise of being an online passport renewal. After payment is made the company provides a completed pdf government form that still must be mailed in with the required payment for passport renewal.

- Fort Collins, CO, USA • Apr 04, 2026

Searched for passport renewal and this is the first site to pop up, the website USPassportAndVisa.org. Entered all my information and paid $111.00 then was sent a document package that I now have to submit to the passport office and pay more money.

- Orange, VA, USA • Apr 04, 2026

Email to renew passport on the day my passport expired. I paid USPassportAndVisa.org $111.12 for this service via email at [email protected].

- Sanford, FL, USA • Apr 03, 2026

This is a fraudulent company from USPassportAndVisa.org pretending to be a company that processes passports but all they do is fill out a form that anyone can do themselves. Their contact form does not work and no response to my request via email for my money back. I lost $104.88. Now they have all my personal information! Someone needs to shut them down and prosecute.

Google searched for passport application and this was the first result, the website USpassportandvisa.org. Clicked on it and it looked legit. Filled out the form with all my SPII and selected I wanted a passport and book. I thought I was paying for it there and submitting my application. Didn’t realize till later that I was just using their site to fill out the form and email it to me, which is a free service provided by the government. When emailed to [email protected] they claim they review my application to ensure it’s good, that is the service they provide. I saw that no where on the site and I’m pretty sure I know how to fill out a form so why would I need that service. I lost $125.11.

- Newport News, VA, USA • Apr 02, 2026

I paid this company, USPassportAndVisa.org, to ‘renew’ my children’s passports, only to learn later that they DO NOT and CAN NOT renew passports.

This website only provides the free government passport application on their website, and then prompts you to fill in your information. After your information is entered, then they charge $100 per application, and $25 for insurance (in case your passport doesn’t arrive). Then sends an email from [email protected] to the consumer with a PDF of the Pre-filled Passport with instructions for you to *print and download the attached Passport Application Package…’ which basically instructs you to take/mail the pre-filled out application and and required fees to the Passport Office/Agency to APPLY for your passport.

I was scammed out of a total of $251.66, which was $200.00 for two free Passport applications (DS11 forms), and $51.66 for insurance.

I used google to search renewing my passport. This website from USPassportAndVisa.org LOOKS like it's a U.S. Govt website but it's not. I entered ALL my PII -- passport number, home address, social security number. and paid $100 with credit card.

I was misled into paying a private third-party company, Uspassportandvisa.org, because the website made it seem like I was paying for an official U.S. passport service. I believed my payment of $111.12 was for the actual passport application/process, but only after the charge did I learn that the company was selling a separate document-preparation service. The distinction was not made clear enough for an average consumer.

I did not knowingly intend to buy a third-party service, and I would not have authorized the payment had the website clearly and prominently disclosed that it was not the government and that the fee did not include the actual passport processing fee. I requested a refund via [email protected], but after I tried to follow up, the company stopped responding and blocked me from contacting them by email, which made it impossible to resolve the issue directly.

I am reporting this so other consumers in the USA are aware of what appears to be a misleading business practice and the lack of a good-faith effort to resolve the issue.

- Waukesha, WI, USA • Mar 30, 2026

I filled out and paid for what I thought was my passport renewal on USpassportandvisa.org but I was just filling out a form that you can do on your own for free. I paid $132.07.

- Washington, DC, USA • Mar 30, 2026

Intentionally misleading US passport renewal application site from USPassportAndVisa.org that is actually just a third-party mimicking the official government website. The site charges $100 to print out a free government form. I lost $110 in total.

- Huntsville, AL, USA • Mar 30, 2026

Requested personal info including SSN and paid $110 to uspassportandvisa.org for a PDF, rather than an actual passport renewal.
