I thought I was renewing my passport online, only to find out this is a scam site after I applied and called travel.state.gov.

- Champaign, IL, USA • May 15, 2025

I was attempting to renew my passport and the website appeared to be an official government website. I provided my SSN and my credit card information.

- Orlando, FL, USA • May 15, 2025

Site deceptively collected my personal information and charged me for an unnecessary service, as i was able to complete the passport renewal online directly on the official government website.

- Jackson Heights, NY, USA • May 15, 2025

I quickly tried to renew my passport and thought I was on the official US passport site. I entered all of my Personal information that I would use to apply for a passport and entered. Now all my information is compromised.

I attempted to renew passport online, I got tricked by the name of this business/website, making it seem like a government site. The renewal process asked for personal information and a payment. I didn't realize until after the transaction was completed that it was not a .gov website and I may have potentially given out my information to fraudulent party. I called the number on the form to have my money returned, the customer service rep stated the money would be returned and got an email confirming this. however with some research it seems the website/business is a possible scam and people never received their money back.

This website appears to act as the US government agency for passport renewal. It wasn’t until after information was submitted that I realized it was not legitimate and. Otw I am very concerned considering the information that was submitted.

- Austin, TX, USA • May 11, 2025

This is a scam website posing as a US government website that charges fees to fill out a form that is freely available, this should be shut down.

- Washington, DC, USA • May 10, 2025

I heard you could now renew passports online, so I clicked on the first website to do so which was US passport and visa.org. It looked like a normal application so I filled it out accordingly. It charged me $67 and when I went to print the application, I was wondering why I still had to pay an additional $130. The $130 goes to the Department of State to renew the new passport. They scammed me out of $67 and I included extremely sensitive information, including my SS number, passport number, address and credit card number. My bank claimed can't do anything because they argued I authorized the transaction. This is a horrible business that needs to be closed immediately.

Hosts a website that is promoted on google, came up as the first suggestion when looking for the passport application. had you fill out information on a fake US passport application such as SSN name, DOB, and other personal information. then charges $85 for processing fee, and emails you the US passport form.

- Ithaca, NY, USA • May 08, 2025

Got my personal information, including passport number, SSN, etc.

- Galloway, OH, USA • May 07, 2025

Website indicates processing passport renewal when it is in fact just filling out a form and providing it in a printable format. The fees paid are indicated to be for renewal and not for form preparation.

- Troy, NY, USA • May 06, 2025

Fake passport application site. Do not trust any site without .GOV in the handle for government docs. Cost me 86 dollars and I'm monitoring my credit. WHY IS THIS A SPONSORED GOOGLE SEARCH RESULT?

- Nashville, NC, USA • May 06, 2025

Thought I was on the official state department website. While the site does populate the correct forms needed, it isn't something that you have to pay for. You pretty much pay for prefilled forms and a postage label. Wouldn't accept my credit card, so I entered my debit card and it went through. I ended up with a charge on both cards. Don't know what they will do with my personal information now.

- Elkton, MD, USA • May 03, 2025

they took money by pretending to be a govt site. I paid them stupidly. I am trying to cancel the cc transaction but might not be able to.

- Hyattsville, MD, USA • May 01, 2025

The website is purposely deceptive and made to look like the Government website and after it takes your money it provides no way to get in contact with them to rectify the situation.

- Altadena, CA, USA • May 01, 2025

After doing a Google search for passport renewal online, I was directed to a website that (I realized too late) was impersonating a government site, but was in fact NOT a legit government site.

They asked for personal identifying information (address, parents names, SSN, etc.) which I stupidly provided, and then charged $88 to process the application. I didn't realize until I went to print the application at work that the fee I paid was NOT the actual renewal fee, as the instructions told me to include a check or money order when I mailed the form and previous passport to the processing center.

I used the first website the Google populated that I at first thought was a government site. After seeing that this website company noted they are not affiliated with any government entity I thought they were a 3rd party processor, such as: FedEx or AAA. I input all of my personal information including where I was born, birthdate, social security, where I live, whom I'm married to, my parents information. I processed the application and went to the next page that required payment for submission. When I included my form of payment the website told me that I had insufficient funds. I tried to process it again, since my form of payment had more than enough funds, and the website said it for the second time - insufficient funds. It wasn't until then did I suspect it was fraud. I searched for reviews on uspassportandvisa.org that and see that there are many other people complaining about fraud from this company. If this company is illegitimate this company should be taken down immediately so this doesn't happen to a minimum of thousands more people. I am extremely concerned that my personal information is going to be used for fraudulent activities. Please help to shut this so called company down. Thank you!

Collected all means of personal identifiable information including SSN, current and former names, address, contact info, parents' names, spouse's name and contact information, passport dates, etc. in order to fill forms needed for renewing a passport. Charged $67.88 then sent forms (which are FREE at government website or at PO) and forms required the additional $130 fee for passport processing that is actually paid to the US government.

- Rapid City, SD, USA • Apr 28, 2025

I was applying for a passport and since it was a .org I thought it was a legitimate website. I was wrong.
