https://uspassportandvisa.org/ showed up as a very legitimate website for passport renewal. It was a sponsored result and I clicked on it without thinking. They took my DOB and location, credit card, SSN, parents' DOBs and locations, and old passport book number.

I was attempting to renew my passport online. I did not realize that the link I clicked on(uspassportandvisa.org) was not the official government website. I paid for renewal, and simply received my forms filled out. They asked for extensive personal information including social security number and parental information. I'm very worried that sensitive information will be used for identity theft in the future.

I looked up apply for US passport on a google search and this .org webpage came up and looked almost legit since I thought .orgs were safe, clicked it put in lots of personal important info SS# parents info, spouse's info and submitted. It automatically sent me to a payment page where now I knew the site was fake because it looked off. I stopped looked up their contact info and there was none where it reads contact us. They ask for your info so they may contact you instead. Now I'm afraid they have my info and my identity could be taken.

I thought I was on the website to renew my passport. They took $68 to fill out a form for me. I was rushing and didn't realize this is not a government site and gave them very personal information

Needed to renew my passport. Seemed like a reputable site. Asked for the normal questions needed to renew a passport and charged me $67 just to fill out the form I could have filled out online. I thought it was the actual passport process.

I intended to renew my passport online. The site was misleading. I thought I was renewing my passport entering lots of personal information including SSN and passport number. After paying $88.83, they gave me a packet to download and instructions on how to apply for your passport. This is a scam. Leads you to believe you are actually applying directly to renew your passport but they are just collecting your personal information!

On March 30, 2025 I did a simple Google search to renew my passport. The website US Passport and Visa came up and I thought it was a legitimate website to renew my passport. Only to find out after I paid $88.83 that it was a glorified PDF editor and a SCAM. They now have my personal information and credit card information.

Did a google search to renew my passport and thought I was on the legitimate website, totally missed all the scam signs. I accepted the message at the bottom saying I understood this was a third party app and in no way related to the government. I questioned but still filled out all the information on my ex-husband and my parents also.
