While using safari on iphone the screen locked and a phone number appeared. it said to call this number to unlock the screen. Woman answered and said she was with Apple and that she would unlock the screen for $40. Provided credit card info to her and she walked us through process and had us install an app.

Claimed to be calling from Apple and said my icloud account was being used in several countries. Unfortunately I said "yes" during the phone call so now I'm worried that a recording of me saying that will be used against me for financial purposes.

I received 4 phone calls today, saying that before I used any of my Apple devices that I needed to contact them, or stay on the line for a customer service representative. Luckily I was not home, so messages were left on my answering machine. Looking on line, this phone number seems to have also been used in warnings about Microsoft security issues.

The scammers said that someone had purchased a movie for $70.99 on our Apple ID.

"Joe" w/Apple stated we had been selected to try out new Apple products that would be related to our business. Requested to speak w/doctor to have authority to send out. Advised the doctor is with patients. Very persistent for me to go interrupt and get doctor. Advised could give a message, "Joe" became very hesitant and gave a phone number and stated it was very urgent for the doctor to return his call.

A foreign male called and stated that my Apple ID was used by someone over seas. He then told me to go turn on my computer. At that point I told him that I am not giving him any information off of my computer and that this was a scam. He then hung up on me. They have called me a total of nine times today. On the line all you hear in the background are foreign males talking very loudly. The line was also full of static. This is a total SCAM and I would like to warn people of this!

Robocall claims the "your Apple iCloud account has been compromised. Do not use any of your Apple devices until you contact technical support at 855-607-1359"

- Niantic, CT, USA

Received today a call w/automated female voice saying it was Apple support and they had ID'd multiple suspicious attempts to access my iCloud account over last several days and that I should either call 844-467-8693 to speak to them to get it resolved or press 1 to speak w/ a service rep. I should have hung up but didn't think fast enough for that. So, curious to see what was going on, as I thought Apple did NOT call but wasn't sure, I pressed 1, and was connected to a man with possibly an ***/*** accent, mild, and a slightly stilted way of speaking (as if an AI program?). He repeated the concern, asked if my device (which one was I using? I said all, everything was Apple, and no, nothing had been out of my possession or borrowed by anyone else, etc, which he asked about. So i asked what should I do, and he said I should hook my phone to my laptop and he would start diagnosing the problem to resolve it. I was not about to do that. He said they were a certified Apple support company(? Word?) and I said I had no way of independently verifying who he was, he tried to talk over me but i insisted, and said I would call Apple to reach support that way. He nicely said i may well wind up with them as they were certified etc etc. he said I should not use the internet until I got the issue resolved. A friend texted me the Apple store number (*** ***, CT) and via them I got connected to Apple support who verified that NO Apple never called, yes they monitored for suspicious activity but they would send a "push notification" not a phone call. So at the end, no one was hacking me ( this time ??), I got help with iCloud issue of privacy, and then half hour later I got an email from a *** *** elected official warning his email subscribers about a different scam -- and he included your ScamPulse.com scam tracker, which I had never known of before. Mr ***, I believe it was. So there you have it.

Said there has been activity on my Apple account and asked if I could hear him. I totally forgot about this scam and said yes.

Official looking invoice from Apple. It is NOT from Apple. Uses your email address as Customer ID - same as Apple. BUT real Apple Invoices also have your Name, Address and Payment info on every real Apple invoice. The SCAMMERS DO NOT HAVE THIS INFO ON INVOICE.

The SCAMMERS want you to click a link by saying the following:

If you did not initiate this purchase, click the link below to get full refund.

To cancel the transaction and to confirm that you are the owner of the account: (This is a Fake Invoice, DO NOT CLICK)

I received an email stating that I had not used my iTunes account and they needed information for me to make sure my account would remain active.

The trigger for me to realize this was an erroneous email was the fact that there were many grammatical errors.

While visiting News 13.com our local news channel in section called ; On a Tankful and About Town things to do , a pop up virus scam took over my Apple i pad mini . It froze my internet and gave a number to call . The message states that you have to call the number to fix your ipad the number is 800 249 0316. It freezes your device and states your bank accounts pictures and private info is at stake.

When you call they know your name and try to get you to pay to remove virus . They say if your ipad is over a year old you have to pay $30.00 . I told them no thanks . I have the real number to apple tech support and i saw they dont match. I called the real number and it was a simple clear history and clear cookies in settings.

I got a pop up on my phone that Safari had been compromised and to call the number on the screen. I called them from a landline at the number and they said they were *** and that my phone had been compromised, that I needed to call them back when I could hook up to my laptop. I called them back on my landline and was on the phone for 1 hour with them. They hooked me up using "Logmeinresue". They wanted me to pay them $270.00 to repair my system. I new it sounded not right so I started asking questions. She didn't like all the questions, became very rude and hung up.

Received an email at my home email address regarding charges from Apple for uploads I had made the previous weekend. I contacted them and they informed me it was a scam.

I received an email with the content below, saying that things were bought on my iTunes account. (I don't have an iTunes account.) I was to go to the email address given to obtain a refund. This is when I would probably be phished for my personal information. Note that iTunes is misspelled as itunnes in the link provided. How stupid do these scammers think we are? Also, the bill says it was to "Store Credit" so how could that mean a charge to anyone's account. It doesn't make sense. So, I did not fall for the scam.
