Same thing happened to us. We tried to book flights out of country and the phone call just didnt feel right, after calling united customer support and doing a little more digging, they are a scam website. do not book with them or give any other information.

********* flight cancelled 9/9/2023 and I googled ***** airlines flight reservation. A site popped up resembling ***** and phone number 866-664-9428. Since I was not familiar with *****'s phone number I thought it was legit. I asked if this was ***** reservations and they said yes (but it seems that they were a 3rd party travel agency).. A man asked for my ********* confirmation number, name, address, credit card, email address.. He sent me an email that gave an astronomical figure that would be the fare and told me to type "I agree" and send it back to him. Eager to get to my destination I complied. ***** flight was booked but they wanted to bill me an additional fee that was almost as much as the flight. Luckily a sensed something was off and called them back to complain. I told them I was reporting them to the BBB. My credit card company said a merchant tried to bill for monies in addition to the ***** fare, but rescinded it.
