I was emailed a "Thank You For Your Purchase" from what seemed to be the apple store stating that I had purchased $100 dollars in iTune's. When I googled the Apple Customer Service number the scammers number was the first result on google. I called the number and they pretended to be the apple customer service department. They told me that my Apple ID had been compromised and that they could help me get my Apple ID back. I was told I need to go to my nearest location that I can purchase iTune $100 gift cards and purchase 2 of them and with the codes I would be able to get my ID back. They reassured me that 100% of my money would be given back to me once we had regained access to my Apple ID. The store that I purchased the iTunes did not have $100 cards so I was told that I could purchase $50 Dollar cards. Once I gave them the codes they said that the codes were not working and that it indeed needed to be $100 cards. So I purchased again at a different location this went on until I ended up with $1200 worth of iTune Cards. Later on they said that now that the iTunes had been varified that Apple and Google Play had a partnership and to finalize the reinstatement I need to purchase 2 sets of $500 Google play cards. They reassured me time again and again that all my money would be returned to me and they would compensate me for all my trouble. I ended up purchasing $1,500 on Google Play cards. The final transaction was at Target when I went to purchase the last set of $500 Google Play cards because there had been an issue with the other codes and they said that if I couldn't find the $500 Google Play cards I can purchase a Target gift card for $1000 and they could convert the code into Google Play card codes. In Total I was scammed out of $3900. I was able to recover $200 from my credit card company once I reported the scam but, my checking bank WellsFargo opened a claim for me for the total of $3700 and closed a few days later because they said there is nothing they can do about it. I also called all to the gift card companies (Apple iTunes, Google Play, Target) and they all said that they cannot do anything because all of the codes have been emptied out and gave me case #'s too. I contacted the Apple Corporate and reported this scam with them too as it impacts their security because the scammers were able to put their phone number on google before theirs and I received a case # from them too, but there is nothing they can do to help me out.

The person claiming to be with Apple wanted me to buy a $100 iTunes gift card and give him the 16 digit number on the back and then he would reimburse me by putting the money back into my account by a debit or credit card. He claimed he could help locate my lost iPhone if I would first buy the $100 apple card. I called this number by looking on google for a phone number for Apple. I called Verizon to see if Apple charged $100 to help locate a lost phone and they told me that it was a scam and gave me the correct number for Apple. The person called me back when I didn't call back with an ITunes card number and I let him know that I found out he was a scam. He told me that it wasn't a scam that he would reimburse my $100. I told him not to call again that I had already been helped by Apple at no charge and I wasn't giving him $100. He called back two more times. Once I didn't answer and the last time I again told him that I wasn't falling for his scam and not to call again.

Received multiple automated calls today claiming to be Apple and we have had a breach. Several messages on our answering machine and then when I was home. The calls are every 30 minutes. When I answered one of the calls, it was an automated message. As I waited on the line, a man claiming to be an Apple representative asked why I was calling. I said, you contacted me. He said yes you have a iCloud breach. When I asked for an 800 number to call back to verify that this is truly Apple, he disconnected the call. We have continued to receive multiple calls from this number. When I called this number, it is an Apple store.

Said my icloud has been compromised and they need some information. They said push 1 to speak to a real person which I did. The calls started around 8:30 this morning and have been consistent all day.

Got a call from apple saying my account had been breached.

- Wood Dale, IL, USA

I became suspicious when they asked for my social security number, and then I tried using my Apple ID to purchase something and it wasn’t actually compromised.

- Transfer, PA, USA

I was on the internet and the phone was locked and an ad popped up to call this number because illegal activity was processed on my phone and when you call the number it claims to be apple. It not. They have you pay them with 100 dollar iTunes cards so that they can unlock your phone. They will continue to do this until you run out of money.

I received a pop up message on my computer about needing tech support. They said they were with Apple. I never paid them anything, but they did have access to computer. They claimed they had fixed stuff from my computer, now they call me from places all over the country saying I owe them money.

- Phoenix, AZ, USA

Scammers will send a letter from Apple then want to get your email. I called an Apple support somehow ended up calling the scammers and they wanted a gift card from Apple and the number and back to secure your account. They're just trying to get the gift card.

- Council Bluffs, IA, USA

Received a letter in second day mail along with check for $2950.00 and to go to the bank cash the check and then to send them two separate gift cards one for $2000.00 and one for $600.00. They want you to be a mystery shopper for Apple and the difference between a regular Apple gift card and an Itunes gift card. Three days letter received an email follow up in regards to cashing the check and getting the gift cards.

- Modesto, CA, USA

This phone number (866-285-8744) and now 805-929-2211 are calling me constantly. It first comes through as a robocall stating "this is Molly with Apple support..." Then a live person comes on and they ask you for your information.

- Poteet, TX, USA

Found this number on google looking for a number to apple warranty. I needed a replacement phone as mine was defected. They asked for a $200 security deposit that would be refunded when the replacement phone arrived. I tried to give them my credit card number they said they could only receive payment through iTunes cards. I gave the $200 the phone never came upon calling again they ignored my calls at first then when they finally answered let me know they needed to be $100 dollar cards as i had given 4 $50 cards. They asked for another hundred. For the mistake on the $50 dollar gift cards. Please do not give your money. I am out 200 dollars.
