I received this as a text message to my phone and they knew my name, I did not click on link, I deleted the text.

They want me to deposit a cashier check in my bank account in about 1-2 days go to two different Walmart stores and buy gift cards scratch the info off the back in send them pictures.I know it’s a scam because I received another one telling me to decal my car. People please don’t fall for these ridiculous scam this is the second one they sent me.

This company sent the link to my cell phone via text asking me to apply for a secret shopper job for Walmart. However Walmart claims they do not have any 3rd party companies offering secret shopper positions. Text came from phone number 5203429020 and states “Hello...Walmart has set up a 350 work at home job for its customers, kindly apply via https://metmallaudit.org to receive 1st assignment & payment by check...”

Scammer by the name of Steven Fryza sent a $1450.32 check to my mother to deposit. She then was to go to Walmart as a "SECRET SHOPPER" purchase NIKE gift cards and send clear photos back.

I was sent the same check from a guy by that name. Coincidentally he was on the phone messaging me when I got the package. This is an old scam. You deposit the check in the bank, purchase what they tell you to only to find out later the check doesn't clear and everything you purchased and sent them you payed for.

I received a call from a person who said they were from Walmart and that I owed $249 for a membership renewal that I never had. I do not shop at Walmart. I asked for his name and he said his name was Alan Nel. I told him it was a scam and I would be reporting it. He immediately ended the call.

Using Walmart logo and name to solicit a survey offering valuable gifts for only shipping ($6.95). Upon submitting the survey, they immediately charged our credit card the shipping and informed us that the "gift"is free for 15 days after which we will be charged full price for the item. I immediately cancelled the offer and told them to NOT ship anything. They offered a 20% discount on the item. Again I refused the offer and told them not to ship the item. They offered an 80% discount on the item. For the third time I told them I do not want anything from them and would like $6.95 credited to my card. Their last response was to give me a RMA number and was told I would have to pay shipping on the return. A few days later the item arrived.

I now have blocked that credit card and told them they have 10 days to send me a check for $13.98. ($6.95 they took from my card and $6.95 for me to return it.)

I indicated that if they fail to send the check within 10 days I will open the package, determine the value of the "gift", sell it and donate the proceeds to our local food pantry.

The text was a group text to 20 people. The text reads: "WALMART STORES ® is starting an exceptionally huge research project in your general vicinity. I would have had to select VIEW ALL on my phone to see the rest of the text. I decided not to do that.

Oh, after I typed that in I saw I could attach the screen shot I did. Attaching that too.

Phishing-saying Walmart is offering $250 in groceries this week to help the nation.

This was posted in a social media group. Someone shared it trying to help people. We told her it was a scam and asked her to remove the link.

Here is the text message I received - clearly a scam.

I knew it was a scam immediately because Walmart does not have my phone number. I don't share my phone number with almost nobody and don't have internet/apps/wifi data on my phone. I didn't give my number to anyone at walmart or other retail stores. thanks

This was mailed to me Priority Mail by Lekeisha Gourdine, 701 Madison St, Petaluma, CA 94952 with a letter and a $4,900.00 cashier's check from the *** *** 101 W5th St. PO Box 80 Spencer IA 51301-0080. The letter was from *** telling me I was a Secret Shopper and needed to deposit the cashier's check in my account. Once the money cleared my account, I was supposed to withdraw the money and go to *** and purchase 4 blank *** Money Orders in the amount of $1,000 each. I was then told to text/SMS to 302-497-3348 to George Nelson 302-497-3348 and go to FEDEx immediately and send overnight to the addresses provided to me from George.
