VIN History USA Reports & Reviews (144)

I got scammed, and feel awful. I got a text message saying that they will refund me in 24-72 hrs, ha! good luck with that. I called my CC company and got a new card re issued. My CC company said that I had to wait 15 days before I can file a dispute. I have marked my calendar exactly to the hour I made that bad purchase .

Same as the above: paid $1 and then $18,95. Now, a month later they charged another $18,95. Called bank. They are stopping payment. Contacted AZ Attorney General's Office
After the first occurrence. They wrote back 5-21 , saing the would contact Shaylas Vin Service aka VinserviceUSA.com. today is 6-13, and I have not heard back.

Was told it would only cost a dollar $1, so I figured why not give it a shot before paying the $40 for the Carfax report. Not only was the car history report completely useless, but they charged me $18.95 in addition to the $1. Absolutely no where in the check out process did it mention anything about an additional $18.95 charge. Very obviously a scam that tries to skim off people that don't check their credit card/bank statements. This site needs to be removed from Google and all other search engines.

I gave them a shot, as most said they charge you $1 that they are upfront about, and then charge you for their monthly plan of $18.95 without it being as plain as the $1. On top of that the reports are horrible. I was only curious about 2 vehicles I own, 92 and 90 Broncos, and discovered on the second lookup for the 90 that the bottom section shows the exact same as the 92. The issue with that is that when I looked up on NICB.org, I discovered the 90 has a salvage record, but no mention of it on vinhistoryusa.com's report.

I also returned to the report page through my history, and the bottom shows the exact same information as both reports (or rather lack of information) with the basic info that any VIN decoder would give you blanked out.

So essentially you are dealing with "purchasing" a free VIN decoder under the guise of a VIN history report.

How do the reports look? Would you mind sharing one?

Since I just noticed someone is asking several users how they came across the website, I came across it searching through Google for VIN history sites and had put in the VIN for a few sites, and this one simply stated the $1 for the report while the others were pricier (but most likely actually worth it) and I was just doing something to satisfy my curiousity.

I read the agreement and was only suppose to be charged 1 dollar. I went to check my acct, well they stole an additional 18.95. They asked me for my full name, email and last 6 of my credit that was used on file and they would refund me. I proceeded to let them know that no where does it say I’ll be in a subscription and charged an additional 18.95. All of a sudden whoever was typing became very rude to me. Texting with attitude and just by the words you can tell it was cocky. Whomever then tried making me feel like I’m dumb and that I should learn to read. Never in my life have I ever been treated in such a manner from a CSR. Please shut this site down and get them off google bc they are scammers!

I’m looking to buy a new car. I just went online to find a website to run the report by the vin number. I’ve heard good things about “Car fax” but they’re expensive if you’re looking for a one time scan, so the next choice “google” recommended was the infamous “Vin History USA. Com. I checked out the site and it says run a history report for 1.00, per report! Sounds good to me. Right off I’m looking for the PayPal option, don’t offer it. I was suspicious at that point but it had the “Secure Site” symbol and the lock on the address bar, so I put all my info in. I hit continue and the page freezes, goes blank, and pops back to the original page where you out your info again. I backed out and started a “live chat” Which was an unbelievably annoying robot (of course) I try to call the customer service number on the top & bottom of the site and it’s yet again, an auto recoding! I searched their site and google for a email, nothing. I go back to the site and try live chat again, where it seemed to be a real person but gave ignorant answers, I told him I was calling my bank and reporting this, which I did. While I was on hold waiting for the fraud department for my card I signed into my online banking to see if they took the 1.00 out, of course they did and they also charged me AGAIN for 18.95.
In the end, the bank canceled my card, rejected the payment, refunded my money (because I caught it minutes after they charged it, it was still pending) and they opened a fraudulent claim! I’m normally really good about reading reviews and stuff before making any online purchase on sites I’m not familiar with, but this one had nothing. It was hard to even find this page to report it and let other know, DON’T BE LIKE ME, DON’T USE THIS SITE!
Below are pictures of withdrawal and the company!
It’s definitely a scam!

How did you find th website?

So my run-in with this company happened about 45 minutes ago. I was told that I would be only charged a dollar to see a report that I never got to see for one and two then I was charged an extra 18.95 on top of it. When I was speaking with the customer representative in the live chat it went from very kind to very rude all of a sudden and then my computer shut off all of a sudden like it had a virus. I then immediately contacted my bank to find out that there was no way for me to cancel it until it went through all the way and then to dispute it. Attached is going to be the conversation that was held between me and two different representatives that supposedly worked for this company. When you try to call their customer service line it won't let you go any farther without re entering your card number to them. If this is not a scam I don't know what is. Please someone shut them down before someone actually gets screwed over more so than I did. Conversation started on : Saturday, April 11, 2020, at 15:52 (GMT+0)

[16:15] Michelle O: I didn’t say that I said there is no need to call when I just stated multiple times that we will issue you a refund
As you can see towards the end of the chat it got very rude. I have yet to turn on my computer to find out if I have a virus and if I do they will definitely be hearing more from me please someone shut down this site thank you a concerned customer.

This just happened to me a minute ago, the page would go blank, freeze, then go back to the original page. I was charged the $1.00 then a separate charge immediately after for $18.95. The “live chat” I had was clearly a robot. I’m on the phone with my bank now! I was suspicious too, I should’ve listen to my gut! If a good, honest site doesn’t offer PayPal, it’s suspicious ?

The website says $1 for a vin look up. Once you agree to the terms and services my card was charged $150, I received a pdf to download that would not work (pdf failed) and in the terms of service (in small print way down) it says you agree to 29.99 a year rather (for a total of 150.00)

There is no phone # or address of the company, they only offer an email address (to no avail, they never responded back to me)

I contacted my credit card company to challenge the charge. At the VERY least, the website is misleading, but in the end, whether 1$ or 150$ I never received the VIN information.
