Said they offered a free vin service with a 1 dollar service fee, but nothing came back on the report. Later find out they charged me 30 dollars to my debit card without my knowledge or consent.

They refunded the first $29.95 they charged in June (only after multiple requests and threatening to report to BBB) then they charged me again this month and refused to refund and then they also charged $4.95 even though there is nowhere on their website that says that they have any service or product for $4.95 they change the company that is debiting/charging your account, phone number and email address to try to confuse things but its the same scammy company.

I saw a transaction on my bank statement from “vehicle budget reports 713-360-1933 FL” for $1. I’ve never used VIN search site and was randomly charged

A whole network of scam sites run by the same people:
vinhistoryusa.com
houseappraisals.net
personalitylab.net
iqrank.net
personius.net

All sites use the same scam scheme. The sites do not provide any useful information. A real estate report can be made to a non-existent address, a car report can be made to a non-existent car, a person report can be made to a non-existent person.
In addition, unauthorized debiting of money in excess of the declared one or more dollars is used. Usually it's $29.95 for what's called a subscription. They will not return anything even after contacting them. Ordinary scammers.
All sites are registered with the same domain name registrar through the Withheld for Privacy service. Websites list phone numbers that no one answers.
The website vinhistoryusa.com shows the address of the office - of course, there is no one there, this is a virtual office https://www.premierworkspaces.com/california/beverly-hills.

I attempted to obtain a VIN Report; the website states that it will cost $1.00 per report. I looked up a VIN and was reported Invalid. I got an e-mail stating that the VIN that I entered was invalid and to try again at no cost. I tried my own car (knowing that this car had and accident) and I got the report. My Credit Card notified me that there were three separate charges, from three different entities, two for $1.00 and another for $29.95. NO ONE informed me that there would be a charge for $29.95.

I contacted the merchant through their website Chat (made a copy of the whole Chat) and they replied that a ticked had been issued and that the issue would be cleared up within three business days.

Was this resolved?

I went to the website attempting to buy a full vehicle history report based on the VIN of my vehicle. It said the initial report was free - then became a $1 fee. I entered my info and all of a sudden they attempted to charge my credit card $29.95, repeatedly. Fortunately, my cc company flagged it, and I denied the charge. After I finalized my purchase, a shady waiver page came up, asking you to release them from all liability, lawsuits etc. TOTAL SCAM, and I fell for it. Someone needs to stop these fools. -Lisa

The website advertises free vehicle history reports, but charges $1 for the report. I used my debit card to pay the $1. The report was not useful. Two days later, I have saw a charge on my account for $4.95 from Vehicle Budget Reports Miami US. I went back to their website and requested a cancellation. Hopefully I will not receive further charges.

So far, they've stolen $308.55. They charge $29.95 and $1.00 to my account every two weeks. I cannot get them to stop!

- Marshall, MI, USA

Advertised a completely free vin lookup, said it costed $1 once report was created, decided to pay it and instantly a charge for the $1 lookup attempted to go through as well as "Personalrecords" for $29.95. 17 hours later another attempted charge from "Trackthatreport" for $29.95.

- Decatur, GA, USA

Offered vin history for $1, then charges an additional $29.95

At the time I was looking for a car and wanted to know the history on the cars. I didn’t want to pay 50-60 for a single credit report so I looked at them and thought the review I saw were reliable. I used it once then canceled right after using it have a screenshot of the cancelation with a ticket number and the so called cancelation letter they issued me to my email. I canceled it May 25 and just received a charge on my account from them.

Website offers an alternative to carfax vehicle reports. It purports to be a VIN lookup service commonly used when shopping for used cars. The website says it charges $1 for your first report. It doesn’t say anything about more reports or a subscription. It says you’re paying per report. I visited the website only once, and viewed only 1 report. I was charged a total of 3 times (so far) over the course of 3 days, once for 29.95, once for $4.95, and once for $1. The charges showed up under the following names: TRACKTHATREPORT and PERSONALREPORTS. The website says that refunds can be issued by calling their phone number 202 751 4073. There were no confirmation emails or information sent to me at any point during purchase, further charges, or after I used the “automated line” for a refund. I called the automated line again to “cancel my subscription” as the website instructed, but after entering partial credit card info to “locate” my subscription, the automated voice said there was an “application error” and my request could not be fulfilled at this time. Also, the address listed on the website comes up on Google as a “virtual business address”. I also chatted with a rep 3 times and I was told each time my "subscription" would be cancelled and I would not be charged again. They kept promising to email me a case # but never did. The charges were done over three straight days (6/5/23, 6/6/23, and 6/7/23). I finally called my bank and had them do a chargeback. What a bunch of scamming jerks.

Hello. How are you today? My card was charged 29.95 on 6/3/23 then charged again for another 4.95 on 6/4/23 it did not say what company it is when I called the No on my bank statement. 251-280-1885 my names Lorisa Ferren I looked up the # online and was running into vinhistoryusa.com which I did use I called the # and it (a recording) said for a refund give first 4 and last 6 credit card # and it said thank you if there’s an account with those # I’ll be refunded and goodbye and they hung up. If there’s anything else you need please contact me. 478-353-9029 or email [email protected] Lorisa Ferren have a great day

Got charged $1.00 to check a VIN.
Saw a subsequent charge for another $1.00 that was pending so I thought wow ok maybe they just did a pre-authorize charge and it would be returned.

The next $1.00 was for "MONEY TRANSFER" and so was a $4.95 for "MONEY TRANSFER".
That description/note that accompanied the charge was when I knew SOMETHING wasn't right, so I froze my card thru bank app but I know this likely isn't going to let up.

Thanks to everyone who posted their stories and for the heads up. Not even gonna get my hopes up to receive a direct refund on the $1, $22, and $5 charges and see this being dealt with at the bank.

Ordered one (1) report that didn't tell me much more than the free vin reports. Was charged $1.00. THEN was charged $29.95. Contacted customer service through Live Chat, was told I had signed up for "biweekly service". I said I did NOT. No credit received, NEVER went to their website again, and today I received a NEW charge for $4.95. I wasn’t aware of. I told chat agent to cancel the subscription and person said it will be canceled in 3 days. Went on with my life and thought it was canceled but I am still being charged biweekly still ever since April 13, 2023. I then searched them up on google and found a website https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/vinhistoryusa.com#172 that there are others being scammed as well!

VinHistoryUSA.com claims to have $1 VIN (auto-vehicle number) check reports like Carfax reports. While they do give you a report it is not as detailed as Carfax. However that is not the scam. The scam is after giving your payment method they continue to charge it random amounts after the initial $1 charge. For me it was $29.95 and 2 days later it was $4.95. Beats me where they get the $4.95 from because their customer service claims that the monthly subscription amount is $29.95. I don't expect them to follow through with a refund and subscription cancellation. I don't want to deal with them anymore so I reported their fraud to my bank and am getting a new debit card (which I used on this website).

I see others online complaining about similar theft from this website/company.

They claim to be a vin check company - collect your debit / cc info and then charge your account numerous times over a span of a couple days their name changes on the charges from either " Track your gene, to Track your vin, Personal records " their customer service email changes consistently.

I went online to check and see if my vehicle had any recalls on it. When I asked Google it came up with an image from Carmax and below it was safercar.gov that showed the specifics of any recalls. So, I went to safercar.gov and was redirected to the vinhistoryusa.com site. The site says that it will charge you $1 to get a report on your car's VIN number. There is an *option to pay a membership every 2 weeks of $29.95. However, when you are putting in your card info & checking out, it says it's $1. But they charged (and caused my account to be overdrawn) $1 and also $29.95. When I emailed them to ask why I was charged the $29.95, they said that the web page did state that. And when I asked for a refund of the $29.95 they refused but said that they cancelled any other future "membership" charges. I told them that was a scam and is very misleading. Obviously, I wouldn't have willingly given my card info thinking I would be charged $29.95 instead of the $1 that it says just for a report regarding recalls. Which is all I thought I was requesting. And to be denied a refund is completely ridiculous and unreasonable.
