Signed up for the trial period for decoding VIN numbers. The service did not work for the two times I used it in the beginning. They advertise easy cancelation, I tried with no luck. I phoned a month later and spoke to a rep who said it would be canceled and they would try to refund my two months charges. They did not refund, never contacted me again, and proceeded to charge me again on the third month. Stay Away at All Cost! Complete Scam!

As everyone else has reported, I paid the initial $1 fee to access a vehicle report. This was May 14th, 2025. I noticed the disclaimer stating something like this was a trial period for 7 days, and afterward I would be charged a $29.95 monthly fee. I then attempted to cancel the subscription via the link provided in the account notification email. There was an unsubscribe button in the link website page, however clicking this button returned a pop-up message stating something like “cannot cancel subscription at this time. Please contact us.” Upon contacting them via the chat bot and email, I received an email on May 19th, 2025 stating my subscription HAD been cancelled. May 22nd rolls around (7 days since my initial $1 payment) and I see a PayPal charge for the monthly subscription fee of $29.95. I cancelled the autopay on PayPal, and sent a refund request to Vinhistoryusa but I doubt I will see anything back. Absolutely terrible and fraudulent company, I wish I had done a quick internet search prior to paying the $1. This company needs to be shut down immediately.

I visited the website VINHISTORYUSA to purchase a $1 vehicle history report. I paid through PayPal and received a basic report that only included minimal details such as accident history. The site then prompted me to pay additional money for a more comprehensive report, which I declined.

A week later, I was surprised to see a $29.95 subscription charge from VINHISTORYUSA appear on my PayPal account. At no point during the $1 transaction was I clearly informed that I would be enrolled in a recurring subscription. I immediately contacted the company via email, requesting an explanation, a cancellation of the subscription, and a refund.

Their only response was to instruct me to access the original confirmation email to cancel the subscription—an email I no longer had. When I told them I couldn't access it and needed help canceling, they did not respond further.

After two failed attempts to reach someone by phone using the number on their website, I finally got through to a representative who canceled the subscription. However, the $29.95 charge has still not been refunded. I had to block the company through PayPal to prevent future unauthorized charges.

This experience leads me to believe VINHISTORYUSA is operating a misleading and possibly fraudulent subscription scam. They lure users in with a $1 report and then charge them recurring fees without clear consent or an easy way to cancel. I’m sharing this to warn others: be cautious when using this site, and check for hidden subscriptions before making any purchase.

I applied for a $1.00 car fax, which I did not receive in February 2025. I have now been charged $29.95 monthly for March, April, May. I have tried to contact company, but no access to them. They continue to take money I did not authorize. I

I started a "free" VIN history search. After waiting through a screen indicating it was checking lots of things (ownership, accidents, etc.), I was notified the cost for the report was $1. I paid the $1 with my credit card and then got a message there was no report for that vin number. I emailed the company, and got a response directing me to a link for canceling my subscription. I thought, "what subscription?" and discovered an email thanking me for signing up for a free 7- day trial that would revert to a monthly subscription of $29.95 if I didn't cancel. I clicked the link to cancel and received a message that the suscription could not be canceled. I then looked on Reddit and found pages of complaints about this scheme.

Website offered VIN lookup for 1 dollar. Signed me up for a subscription I did not agree to and charged me $29.99. I spoke with them and was told I agreed to the subscription but that it had been canceled. 2 weeks later I was charged $29.99 again under the name vinhistory. Within 24 hours I was charged another $29.99 by a company using the name carcentme, which I have never heard of. This triggered my fraud alert through my bank and shut my card down. I have found this company uses the names vinhistory, carcentme, vehiclereportmiamius, trackthegene.com, vinsnug, personalreports, trackhevin, personalityquizlet, budgetvehiclereports, findtheirreport, breadsysteminforma, backgroundlooker, lookup, searchresultprosprctus, housedatafinder, vintracker, and findyourvin. After some other research I found the possible owner of this website may be a person by the name of Alexander and they run a business by the name of swipay LLC. out of Miami.

Charges 1 dollar for a car history report service (that I did not even receive properly). Immediately to charge my account persistently ranging from 1-30 dollars without authorization. I had to change my card 3 times for them to find my information to charge me unauthorized transactions again and again.

VinHistoryUSA.com signs people up for a bi-weekly "subscription" of $29.95 without disclosing it to their customers. Customers initially pay for a $1 VIN history report, but unknowingly gets charged $29.95 one week after. Customer did not agree or subscribe to any subscriptions. Thus any transactions after the first VIN history report that was purchased is considered unauthorized. VinHistoryUSA.com operates under different company names: CARINFOSTORYCOM, Trackthevin, Budget Vehicle Reports, Fintheirreport, etc. - just to name a few that other scammed customers have reported online.

Its offered as a vin history website and they say they are at one address on the website but a charge of 30$ was attempted to be taken out in Sarasota Florida I never opted in to a subscription or anything just a one time charge of 1 dollar and the info it gave me was useless it was incomplete and some basic stuff was outright wrong they even wanted my SSN but I put a random one in I didn't feel safe putting my real one in and it worked they offer a help line but when I press the number to cancel subscription it just hangs up and even blocked me the first time its not at all a complete report as promised

On 3/8/2024, I utilized this website to obtain a vehicle history report, for which I was charged $1. It's just a dollar. However, to my dismay, I discovered that this action automatically enrolled me in a bi-weekly subscription without my explicit consent. Furthermore, I received an email notification today stating that my account was charged $29.95 without my authorization. I tried to seek help from Livechat but it was useless. I sent an email to support team immediately after I realized the unauthorized charge to request for subscription cancellation and refund. Additionally, it's claimed that customer can call the number on the website to cancel the subscription. I called them and they asked my 6-digit numbers on my credit card so I didn't respond because it's suspicious. They asked your name and email while you sign up. When you log in to the site, there's no dashboard and function that customer can do a self-cancellation of the subscription.

Missleading for a vinhistory search to be free. After i enterd my vin number and my email they tried to charge me $1 then would substantially charge me $36 every 2 weeks. Contacted coustemer service to ask why they where falsely advertising that it was free. I was called a broke [censored] that couldnt afford to pay a $1 and that my vin number would be used to "come find me". He also stated that he would use a pepole finder type website to download my P.D.F. to "come find me" this buissness needs to be shut down and who ever runs it needs to be put in prison..

Looking for a new car and running VIN history reports. Found this site with reports for $1. Got those reports, they were good by the way, and moved on. Then I see this $29.95 charge on my card and all it says is Personal Reports. Didn't recognize it so started looking into it and this is what I found. Lesson learned. A lot less hassle to use CarFax and just pay the $46 per report. At least you don't have to replace your card. And I used a Virtual Card number. Thought that was the whole point so you didn't have to replace your card. Apparently the CC companies don't understand their own technology.

Website for a $1 VIN history report had a hidden/unobvious biweekly subscription added. The subscription is not easy to cancel and there are a lot of complaints by users that even after cancelling a subscription, they will continue to charge your card. They sent me a text saying my subscription is cancelled under the name Global Informatics LLC

They advertise $1.00 for checking a VIN of a car. Then they have you search for the car by entering the VIN. The find the car info, then prompt you to pay $1.00 for a VIN report. But they charge you many times using different company names. NO VIN REPORT GENERATED. I locked my credit card, notified my bank, charges not processed and are currently pending investigation. I reported this to GOOGLE as well for AD FRAUD.

They claim $1 for a vehicle history report all over the website, INCLUDING the checkout and then charged my bank account for $29.95. This is sketchy practice at best. Then I checked the FAQ and it says they will charge me this every 2 weeks? There is no way on the website to cancel this "Subscription" so I sent an email and have gotten no reply. Tried calling the number and it just hung up. Used live chat and was told they will cancel the subscription but have to review the circumstances of the sale and I may not get my money back. Disgusting business practices.

- Wilmington, NC, USA

It is a vin search website. I paid 5 dollars in October with no further commitment. Since they have made 2 attempt to Take $29.99 from my account. The first time the used the name RevampedReports and the second time they used PersonalReports. They use the "dummy " phone number 978-705-0853. when i called this number a computer prompted me to press one and then hung up when i did. Immediately after I received a text message from another number 202 751-4073 (listed as Global Informatics, LLC).

Credit card immediately charged fraudulent unauthorized charges. Will not issue refund in violation of the terms of their fine print despite repeated requests by email, phone, and web forum. Representatives not in USA. Multiple email addresses and phone numbers used by company, none of which seem to work.
