They called me and told me they would give me $9,000.00 if I go to my local Walmart to buy a $200.00 card (Registered Card).

Call came from an unknown number so I let it go to voicemail. When I listened to the message, the first part of it was left off (probably on purpose) and the robotic female voice went on the say that they had been trying to reach us for 6 months and since we failed to respond that they had no choice but to consider it intentional fraud and a lawsuit under our name was filed by the US government. Asked us to return their call and left the following number (781)607-4029.

- Columbus, OH, USA

Caller ID blocked potential scam, but having visual voicemail helped! The voice was computer read and did not say who is calling. It called cellphone, doesn't say why you and your family are being investigated, only says call a number to resolve, and they've bn calling for 6 months.

Being investigated by U.S. Government and international lawsuit. As if it's a scare tactic from I.C.E.

Got a phone call with someone saying the government picked my number to receive a free money grant. They asked a few questions and had my number, name, and address. They gave me a number to call back to verify but I did not call it. I wanted to check the number before calling it.

The Scam: "Hello, I am looking for, or May I speak with, or Is this..." (They state my full name) Next, they say "I am calling from the United States Government Grant Department. Obama has set aside $9,000 in a reserved account for you, before he left the White House. In order for the money to be directly deposited into your account. You will have to pay $200 at a convenient store near you to receive your deposit.". (Examples they have told me: Walgreens and/or CVS pharmacy) They continue the scam with: "It is easy. All you have to do is call me back, at this number, when you get to the convenient store and follow my instructions. We will walk you through the entire process. It will only take you about 5 minutes. At that point, your money will be directly deposited into your account immediately within the next 10 minutes. Then, one of our account managers will call you back to confirm that you have recieved the funds into your account that Obama has left for you. It's that simple.". Last but not least, their finale: "We already have your bank account and routing number on file or in our records. We just need you to confirm that this information we have for you is correct." (They stated my account and routing number)

I had to call my bank to let them know and I contacted ScamPulse.com (The ScamPulse.com), to report it. The scammers are a group of foreign men and foreign women. They call my cell phone at least 5 times a day. They also send random text messages. They stated my full account number, my full routing number, and my bank name. They have called me for the past two weeks. Their numbers, I have blocked on my phone. However, the scammers keep calling from multiple locations, and various numbers, throughout the United States.

On August 29, 2018, I receive a call from Bill Once. The scammer said his name is Kevin at ext. 201. He said i qualify for a gov grant of $9,700, and that i will not have to pay it back. I was excited because I want to start my own small business. He told me to call his senior account manager and gave me the number. I called and spoke to Jordan Green at ext. 177. Jordan said all I have to do is go to a Western Union to pick up the money right now and gave me this money tracking number: 0837506522 and this grant ID: WA8033. He said he will remain on the line while I drive to Amscot so he can help me make this transaction. When I got to Amscot, he said is there a 7-11 near by because I must buy a Google Play card for $250 first. I said I dont have that much money on my debit card. He kept saying the 250 will be reimbursed to me. He then critizied my felony record. I asked how does he know about that, and he said we are the federal government, we know everything. I told him this is not going to work and he is wasting my cell phone minutes. I hung up. This is a scam and others should be warned. They must be stopped.

The same thing as before. A computer voice (Female). Saying that they tried to contact you for payment. And are going sue you in court. No specifics. Just give them money.

Received a phone call stating that I had been selected to receive a government grant in the amount of $14,566.00 that never had to be repaid. Go to any Western Union and collect such funds with the tracking number I was give. If there is any problem, call and ask to speak with John Boyd or call him direct @ 845-379-4413, ext. 171. Call generated from New York 917-994-1961.

I tracked the supposed money thru Western Union and it was never found. Called John and he went ballistic. Said that I needed to call him from the stores parking lot and that he knew what store I had gone to. I never went to a store because I tracked the money on line.

I received a call this morning at 11:00 AM offering a $9000 Gorvernment Grant; no tax or payback. I spoke with Sandra Jones who gave me an ID number 0852; I was to give that number to Michael Wilson. Michael Wilson's no. was the same with ext. 1012. I was advised to go to a Family Dollar Store and get a money service form for $200. Once I receive the $9000 I would get the $200 back. I did not send the money and called the BBB; I was informed it was a scam.

I received a phone voice message at 9:04 am and then another one (same one) at 11:55 am. When I returned home I listened to them.

It was a lady's voice that was a recording. First part was not clear "...............instigating you and your family. We have tried to notify you regarding this issue for the last 6 months but never got a response from you. So it has been considered an intentional fraud and law suit by the US Government. You may call our department number at 443 214-0966. I repeat it is 443 214-0966. Thank you."

I figured this was a scam and wanted to report it to some one. I phoned the ScamPulse.com and she directed me to this on line BBB scam tracker.

I received a voicemail from an automated caller stating that they had tried to reach me in the past on a previous issue and since I haven't responded they consider it intentional. They said that the US Government now has a lawsuit filed against me and I must return the call. I was in the military for 20 years and know that the Government would send me something in writing.
