They took out $500, but my bank gave it back to me. Now they call all the time. I've called my phone company and they say keep blocking the numbers. I filed a police report. I am tired of these calls.

I received an email that $654 was being billed to me for antivirus software I didn't order. When I contacted the company by phone they started harassing me about needing their services.

- Fresh Meadows, NY, USA

Claimed I paid for a security service that I did not order. Email had NO company logo, but claimed it was a charge from McAfee. I am scared a form of Malware was in the email! When I called “customer service” at first the number was bisy & disconnected the call-then someone answered & when I said “scam” they IMMEDIATELY hung up the phone!

- Bonnerdale, AR, USA

I opened a recipe on my laptop. There was a loud noise. The notice said trojan spyware had been installed on my laptop. It gave a number to call. I knew not to call that number.

I got on my cell phone and looked up Microsoft support. They said the warranty on my laptop had expired which it had. The transfered me to nerd support. I thought I was speaking with someone from Microsoft support so I trusted them. Nerd support charged me a one year service plan which I agreed to. They installed a computer protection plan. They said they cleared out all bad stuff and fragmented files. They said they got everything. A few days later they sent me a text saying there was more to clean out. In the meantime I researched the company and other people said they did the same thing to them. People said they let nerd support back into their computer and nerd support took out a lot more money. I quit responding to nerd support. I went to Best Buy and enrolled in their plan. I had them remove nerd support.

Scammer attempted to change my existing affordable connectivity program IP to their own.

They offered a free tablet which I indicated that I did not want. They sent me one anyway. After several unsolicited texts, I replied that their service was not required by me. They continued to contact me anyway.

Mentioned a GS-Tech 24, and said it was a subscription?

- Salt Lake City, UT, USA

They withdrew money from my account and I was told it was due to my son setting up a service which is not true. I had to wait to pay a bill but they continued to get and charge my account. They got two charges before I was able to lock my account. They said they canceled my account but I know they’re lying. Nonetheless I have to cancel my card but this has been an inconvenience. .

- Lake Charles, LA, USA

I called what I thought was Microsoft and they remoted into my computer and took off viruses, told me I needed to get a firewall connection. I bought it. Today they called saying they were giving me a refund. Then got mad when I questioned him.

- Henderson, NV, USA

- Carlisle, PA, USA

Received email saying they were going to charge our account for a service subscription and then refunded the funds but put too much back into the account and then had take the extra money to bitcoin to return it to them

- Fort Worth, TX, USA

Received an email claiming to be Geek Squad. They wanted to bill me $377.00 for a maintenance contract. Since I had used them once I thought this was legit. I called them & they tricked me into letting them into my computer. They wanted me to open my bank account so they could verify the refund. I then realized this was a fraud & tried to stop the programs being used to see inside the computer. My screen went blank & they wiped out most of my programs & data. I spent over $200 to have my hard drive wiped & recovered a little data but even windows was removed. Lost all the programs too. It will take a while to tr-download them. My emails were lost too so I can’t send a copy.

I contacted this company when I was trying to recover my stolen Facebook account about 2 months ago. They were referenced to.me by a so called friend on asocial media site, o I contavted them and they were eager tohelp.merevover my account, I explained to them.that I couldn't pay them anything cause I was on a limited income andthey said they would do it at no cost. I had to first verify my identity through idme.comand when wr couldn't verify it through them we verified me through the irs.gov site. I got my Facebook account back.but they wanted to help me financially so they sent me acheck through the mail and I was to deposit it into.my bank account thrn send $1500 to their cousin, so they said , then send them back $1000 and then keep $500 myself. I didn't know this was a scam until after I deposited the check into.my account, I was then to send them a screenshot of the deposit slip from the atm, I wasn't to use the tellet or drive trough just the ATM and so I did as they said well since it was such a large amount the bank.held it for 10 days and I learned the check was written on a closed account so the bank.froze my acvount for 60 days, then add insult to injury I received a letter in the mail from the IRS asking if I had filed a tax return for 2023 because one had been filled in my.name, so I informed the irs that I had not filed a tax return fir 2023, i hadn't filed one in over 20 years to stop any payment of returns inmy name. I contacted cybersupport and asked tjem if they had filed one and they never directly answered me but tthe whole time I was in constant daily contact with them they where telling me that I would be receiving something in the mail from the IRS and for me to let them.know when I received it so that told me my answer right there. Also when I was in daily contact wirh them they aske me about all my fiscal products that I have and stupid me told them every thing that I have. I trusted them completely and they filed a tax return iny name and got access to my social security benefits information from the irs so I have to check every month to make sure that they don't change my direct deposit of my social security check from.my.main checking account, I didn't give them that Information thank god.

I received an email saying a charge would be put on my accounts for a subscription and when I called to have it removed they hijacked my computer
