Rosa reached out to me from SLD regarding my resume. and wanted me to call her for an interview.

After reading the info on this site, I decided to sit through the "interview" anyway and recorded the whole thing. The lack of needing to be educated in the financial world in extremely concerning and was my 1st red flag. I did receive my initial college education in finance but don't have it listed on my resume as I'm currently in the medical field and seeking employment within the field. The mention in the presentation of them being in Forbes is also legitimate, but the article has NOTHING nice to say about them. Once I got to the "one on one" portion of the "interview," and started asking more about the company and why I was contacted with no visible degree on my resume, suddenly the guy Cruz interviewing me couldn't hear me and he got visibly nervous when I started asking about the lawsuits against WFG (their name per Yelp). I had asked him if they were also known by WFG early on and stated it was concerning to me as they had recently been sued for Fraud and he said they were "one of 500 associations they work with" and that's when he started having supposed connection issues. He kept insisting I leave the meeting and that he would have Rosa or another associate contact me with more information. He connected before I did. Unreal the lengths some people will go to for money.

What the heck are you talking about? Do you know what their training program is like? Just because you got a college education in finance does you mean those of us don't can't learn to be financially competent? Also, who the heck would ask about lawsuits during an interview? Do you have the court documents proving the lawsuits took place or the outcome?

I have been hired with SLD and I got out for other reasons , but the job is legitimate . You will pay 130 for your license which is normal and its not a scam. When i left they had refunded me my money do to special circumstances . Just be careful you guys might be dealing with other fraudulent companies named SLD . This company is real and i signed up with them through Glassdoor. Good luck and I just wanted to put this out there as I was confused at first to.

This seemed fishy from the beginning. Most job interviews (it seems like) are either set up through email or the company calls you directly, not through text. I had about the same experience as everyone else that someone else answered the phone and "Rosa" was in a meeting with another executive and they would not tell me what the job position was that they had in mind for me or what the duties would entail. They listed off a number of potential jobs but many did not make sense as you would probably need an educated background in those areas. I have not finished my degree yet (and its nothing to do with finances.) so it didn't make sense that one of those could be a position I qualified for. I asked for their website and they told me there was nothing about careers on there because they are so upscale or whatever. I set up the zoom interview cause ya know, I'm desperate for a job, just in case it was real. I was going to research them more and then decide if I was going to show up for the "interview." The website is basically one page so you can't learn more about them and the BBB doesn't have info on them that I could find. Then I found this page so...no I did not make an appearance at the so called Zoom interview. (They had also gone as far as to tell me to dress professionally and have good posture and what not cause the "Director/Executives" had been known to exit out of an interview for even the slightest wrong interview etiquette. Dressing professionally and what not is kinda a given for a job interview, at least to me.)

+5

Really, didn't tell you the job duties? But they told you the potential jobs they had for you. When was the last time you were called to take an interview and the HR manager told you exactly what you would be doing and how much you would be paid? I never have been. I go to the interview to find that out! Also, what the heck is wrong with asking you to dress professionally? Not everyone is as sharp as you!

I was just contacted by Rosa and the text said to call her at 949-421-6263. When I called that number I spoke to Ami and she set me up for a Zoom meeting. I started to feel uncomfortable and wanted to know more about this company too. I texted a message asking was it a telemarketing company and Ami responded by saying "We are a Financial Services company". I contacted them and told them to cancel my interview and I told them they were reported as a Scam company.
Ami texted me back and said "Not sure what you looked at. We are regulated by multiple government agencies and we have been featured in multiple magazines. You can find anything about my company. I know who I work for. Good Luck to you"

+5

So, you asked a question, were given a legitimate answer and think this is a scam? Ami took the time to respond to you even though you said something very negative about her company? Any financial services company HAS to be highly regulated! Any company the deals with moving people's money is required by law to have agents who pass a state licensing exam and hold a license that is renewed every 2 years!

Thank you for the heads up everyone!

I recently just received a text from a ROSA from SLD Financial and asked me to call 941-421-6263 to schedule a online interview. I called the number and got this dude named Tim and he stated he is interested in my skill set from a resume that I had submitted on Career Builder. Tim did not provide any information about the position and I was smart enough to do some research on this company. I did get a follow up text with a hyperlink for ZOOM and Tim scheduled a time for an online interview PT. I appreciate this information I learned from Google and surfing into this forum. I hope the authorities are tracking this scam and I hope this will be useful in keeping people safe from harm. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS when looking for work at home positions!

+6

Not sure what you are talking about. They always tell people what they do! If you did any kind of research you probably just found other reviews that are just as misinformed as this one. I don't get why you people have to bash things you don't really know anything about ! JUST STOP !

SCAM ALERT! SCAM ALERT!WOW! This is what scammers do, I am out of work because of Covid-19 I have a proven background and track record in sales, with over $1.8BB yes billion dollars in real estate conversions to 7 of the top 10 real estate companies in the US. I though this was for a real estate firm and was hopeful until I spoke to Kaitlyn Gardea. I am shocked that people try to take advantage of us like this, in the worst of times. If there is anyone who knows of a legit job as an appointment setter in the real estate biz for a virtual remote employee please let me know. I just had an interview with Kaitlyn Gardea who would not put me through to ROSA, said she was in a meeting or interview, I knew it was a scam as soon as she asked me for additional background info and ID over the phone, no company asks for ID or credit info over the phone on the first contact. It is usually asked for through an application type format or after getting hired. The tel number is 949.287.3812 and she set me an access code 82776436543 which seemed odd since my interview isn't until Monday 6/7/2020. Oh btw, I never applied to this company to begin with. SCAM ALERT! SCAM ALERT!

+5

You are right, no one asks for background information or ID's on the phone. And neither does this company! Not sure why you felt you had to lie about this! Making a lot of money and bragging about it doesn't give you the right to discredit a perfectly legitimate company ! Shame on you !

I literally just received a text for SLD Financial regarding a job interview, and asked me to call a Rosa on another number. Some dude picked up and was refusing to provide any details regarding the job description, unless I schedule a zoom meeting. I found it very fishy and googled "SLD FINANCIAL". This is the first thread i found ! Thanks for saving my time and money. I recently got laid off becuasue of the covid-19 and its sad that people like these are taking advantage of people like me desperate to get a job in these hard times.

+15

Wow ! Some dude picked up and refused to provide any details? What the heck are you talking about! Glad you found this thread though! So much useful MISINFORMATION ! It is sad that you think people are taking advantage of you to the point where you jump to conclusions based on a bunch of negative people!

Have been receiving texts from 949-556-4678. The text are:

"Hi, THis Rosa at SLD, we are reaching out one more time regarding your resume. We would like to schedule an online interview. Call direct 949-421-6263."

Looking online I found several forums mention this is a scam. Never call them back and block their number.

Exact same thing just happened to me. Got a text with a third number to call to talk and schedule an online interview. I called the second number that it said, and asked for the person, and she was not available, but out with an executive. I briefly talked to the lady and she told me she came from a similar background as myself and if I would be interested in exploring the financial education world. She emphasized employees are well compensated more than once. It all seemed legitimate, and chose a zoom meeting time. I have yet to receive a text with the zoom call in information. I'm glad I saw this thread and know what to expect.

+7

Seeing this thread does not tell you what to expect. Did you contact them back to find out about the text? How do you know it didn't get sent and you just didn't receive it? Haven't you ever sent a text to someone and they didn't get it?

Just wasn't sure when I received this text. So I been investing. I am supposed to have a interview 12 p.m. tomorrow. I am going to block them. I don't seem to trust them.

Got a text from a number to call A different number about a job interview. When I called they couldn’t tell me what the job description was and only said it would be discussed in the interview. I set up the interview and got a confirmation from a third number. When I tried to do research on the company, I found very little information, but mostly I found reviews on Yelp of a place called WFG Financial which has the same address. The reviews state multiple people got the same shady texts and calls, and when they proceeded through the process, they were eventually asked to pay $100 processing fee that would be “refunded” upon hire. I also saw some people claim they ask for your driver license number and social security number.

+9

People are like sheep. They see some information from a few people they don't know and assume that the information is correct. After all if it is on the internet it has to be right! Until you keep an open mind and are willing to listen to many points of view you are going to be lead around without really knowing where you are going.

I have been actively seeking work, and I get a lot of emails and text messages from job sites. I have sent my resume to a lot of different companies and filled out a lot of online applications. On March 23rd, 2020, I received a text message from someone named Peggy, from a financial services company called SLD Financial, asking me to call her back regarding an online video interview. This is supposedly a financial services company. I called back and was told that I would be texted a link to register to join a March 25th company overview via Zoom online video conference. This overview conference was to precede a one-on-one video interview. I registered for the overview, and was told the time that it would begin. The next day, (today) at the appropriate time, I joined the conference, and watched the overview. The CEO of the company introduced himself. He said that there was no prior experience in financial advising needed, because training would be provided. Every applicant in the video conference (I don’t know how many other applicants were online with us, but it seemed that there were several) were then separated into different chat rooms for one-on-one video interviews. It was going well, it seemed as if I was getting along great with the lady I interviewed with. But then she told me that there was a training fee that would be due before the training could begin. It was a $130 fee. $30 covered the cost of the background check, and $100 was for the training. I asked for more details on this, and was told by the interviewer that if I was promoted, then $100 would then be refunded to me. I would ONLY be eligible for a refund of my $100 if I was promoted. She said she needed my driver’s license number, date of birth, address and social security number, then my payment info. The driver’s license number, birth date, address and social security number are things that I’ve had to provide at some point for every job I’ve ever applied for...that part seemed normal. I gave that info to the interviewer. But I’ve never heard of any company asking applicants to pay for background checks or for training. I immediately felt suspicious about giving her my debit card number, so I did NOT give her that information. I told her that I felt some misgivings about that. She told me that if I needed more time to think about it, then that was fine. I asked for the phone number and business license number of the company. She told me that she couldn’t give me the business license number, that the trainer would have to give me that information (if I paid for the training, of course). So she gave me her personal phone number, and the company website. I visited the site, and it does exist. However, I still have no way of knowing if this is a legitimate business. I asked her what she would do with the information that I had provided, and she told me that she would shred it immediately. I have no way of knowing if she really did shred it. I just thought I should give the ScamPulse.com a heads-up, and make someone aware of this, because it just doesn’t sound right.

The only time that any ID information is asked for is when the application is being filled out, which is perfectly normal. Same with the debit card information, so it sounds like you wanted to do this, agreed to this then changed your mind and decided to discredit the company. Perfect. Do you ask for a business license at every interview? All I can say to this is WOW!
