This company will take advantage of you and make you pay for licensing that you can get yourself for 10 dollars! The head of the company is Jose Alvidrez and Jennifer Lee. They will make it sound like it is a job interview. There are NO available positions that they offer. They are insurance agents looking to add you to their downline as another insurance agent and make money off your market! And get overrides from policies you bring to them! I found a website where it shows their "founders" Jennifer and Jose creating a lifestyle that they are successful but have all these bankruptcies and evictions. Seems like they are teaching their other agents as well how to fake it till they make it. Rosa seems like is their assistant and that Diane Valdez on zoom and Peggy Miranda are working their scheme with them. Save yourself time and stay away from these people.

My text was from Toni, from (949) 426-7351. This is a California number wanting me to call (404) 291-4944, a Georgia number. That set of the alarm bells. Same text info, found my resume on career builders. Googled the Georgia number and came up with nothing, did the same for the California number and this site was at the top of the list.

Had a very similar experience to other folks here. Got a text from 949019563 saying "Hi [my name], this is Gregg at SLD. Saw your resume on Career Builders. I have some questions and would like to schedule an interview (602) 410-8650. Thank you" And yes that is Gregg with three g's. I called the number and got told by woman (I don't remember her name) that Gregg is in another meeting, got a spiel about the company. Based in Irvine, CA, we're financial advisors, that the company is 10 years old, etc., and would I like to participate in a Zoom webinar to find out if we're a good fit for each other. They said they were looking more for skillsets and diverse backgrounds rather than certain job experience. I was told the acronym stands for "Spartan Leadership Development". After a quick Google search I still can't quite figure out what it is they do, but I do find a Facebook page with a couple of comments that this organization is just a scam. I'm glad I found out now and not later after getting more of my time wasted. Stay safe!

Got a shady text from Rosa at SLD saying she has also sent me a mail and wants to talk to me about a job opportunity and that she got my resume from CareerBuilder. Number from which I got the text was different from the number Rosa asked me to call. When I called it, it reached the inbox of a certain Herman Paul. So I called the number where I got the text from and it said "Thanks for calling SLD Financials, Rosa is in a meeting" (Automated message).

I did a quick internet search to find out about SLD financials and landed on this page. So no damage done. All over in a few minutes.

Quick note: It was very clear there was something shady as no recruiter has EVER called or texted me directly. Stay cautious and follow your gut.

Getting the same. How can we stop them?

Same story as everyone else. Yesterday I received a text out of the blue from "Rosa" who had "received" my resume from Career Builders (never heard of them either) and wanted to schedule an interview for a job I haven't even applied for. I called immediately and asked for Rosa but was told she was in a meeting. Really? While sending out txts to people who have never contacted SLD? But "Richard" said he could help. I asked what position they had to offer but he just talked about the zoom session instead which would be held today. This morning I got the connection details for the zoom call, which would be hosted by "Dr Richard". Last night I googled SLD Brokerage (company name as per Richard) but couldn't find anything. Joined the zoom session today. At the beginning it says for 'security reasons" please turn your camera on. 3 "company directors" present and 2 other "candidates". No Dr Richard in sight. Session was hosted by Sergio Miranda who talked a lot about his wife and how he's very involved with the church. The church and faith were mentioned quite a lot throughout the session. Then he showed a "video" which was nothing more than a collage of photos - people in meetings, looking at graphs, paperwork on tables etc - with background music. Nothing to actually show or explain what the company does. Then he talked some more - as others have said, this is nothing more than a commission based MLM scheme. Then he introduced Diane Valdez, whom he called Diana. She told us how much we could earn each month - of course the numbers seem fantastic. Then "Rosa" came back on and talked more about faith and family. After about 25 mins we were then sent an invite to an individual session for an "interview". A different woman this time, who asked me what I thought of the video. I said it didn't really explain what the company does. She seemed surprised that I still didn't know so asked what I got from it. I said I got that this is a pyramid scheme. She immediately said ok so let's conclude the interview as we are obviously on different pages. At that point she couldn't wait to get off the call. I asked why they had contacted me and she fluffed that I have transferable skills that would enable me to do that job. So I never got as far as the part where she asked me for money but I'm sure it would have happened had I strung her along a little longer. All in all a complete waste of 30 mins of my day.

Just got the text message from "Rosa" and found the posts here. Am glad I saw this and so I marked it as spam and blocked the number, although I'm sure they'll try again with another number. You definitely need to be mindful of scams these days.

I got the same text from Rosa and whatever reviews i am reading is absolutely true and happening the same to me. I am glad that i got the truth of this company before my interview.

I guess Rosa's at it again. I got the same text today. I work for the Better Business Bureau and this is really concerning, The BBB sends out business questionnaires to company's to fill out, and and it's at the company's discretion to provide us with as much information possible to understand the nature of there business and the services they offer. Apparently this company is only 1 year old and only has an annual rev of $187.000 which is not much. But what really troubles me is the lack of information on their business profile with the BBB. No rating and Not much transparency either. No complaints so far,but quite many negative reviews. Really concerning. Check out their BBB Profile: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/anaheim/profile/records-management/sld-financial-1126-...

Received this text on December 4, 2020, about a position with SLD. Since I have no idea what company SLD is, I never responded/called. Within 5 minutes of researching the name of the company and number, I discovered other recipients of this text. The number it came from was 949-426-7351, and the number it instructed to call was 949-767-3949. Other important, it claimed to collected my resume from Career Builders, and I am NOT on their site.

Don't fall for these scammers. There is no real job. I'm just now understanding how shady their business practice is. I am in the Healthcare Admin industry looking for a job, and I get the same text from "Rosa @ SLD" that others talk about in this thread. Well, I show up to the zoom interview and it's a video parading how great their company is and how it's a dream to make money while helping people save money or whatever BS they were saying. They basically want you to work for them as an independent contractor and you only make money off commissions. They tote around that they "develop leaders" but that's a lie. This isn't a stable job. It's a MLM scam. After the group intro, I went to an interview with one of the "Directors" and after asking me some questions regarding my past employment, she wanted me to pay for a licensing THROUGH THEIR COMPANY WEBSITE MIND YOU that was $133. Never in my life have I paid for something after an interview. Reeks of a scam y'all beware.

Received a text, checked the call back number and found this site. I too will not waste my time and call back.

They're still at it!
I got 2 text messages from Rosa @ SLD. Text came from 949-732-1535 but callback number is 714-710-8815.

I (like everyone else) called back and didn't get Rosa but got a guy who scheduled a Zoom call. My spidey-senses were going off so I decided to check and found all of the messages listed here.

Thanks for the heads up so now I won't waste my time on the call!

"Rosa" / SLD somehow got my number and texted me, saying my resume was found on Career Builders. I'm a professional Recruiter and this set off all kind of alarms.

When an real employer contacts a job seeker, the Recruiter will normally cite the correct source (in Recruiting source means "where the candidate is / was found"). Careerbuilder is not the same as Career Builders and a blatant mistake that real Recruiter would never send out.

Also, we use email or a call to establish initial contact so we can introduce ourselves, our company, and the job. Texting is used but normally after a relationship has been established with the candidate we're trying to hire.

I called the SLD 949.617.3580 number to sort out if this is a scam. It is. They want people to work for them as Independent Contractors, so there is no real "job."

The way these Independent Contractor scams work: the company tries to get people to represent their products or services in a market as an "independent rep." As an independent rep, you 'll earn commissions off of a sale (or whatever they call it). You will not be paid for your time or expenses.

You will not be a W2 employee, so no hourly wage or salary, no benefits of any kind, and you're responsible to the IRS for all taxes on any money you may earn from this "job." It's unlikely this role will pass the IRS requirements for being a 1099 contractor, but check the IRS website for the latest info.

This type of hiring scam happens all the time for Recruiters during tax season. Oftentimes they are from Multi-Level Marketing companies; this may or may not be a MLM.

Real employers offer hourly wages or annual salaries. If you are a Consultant or professional Contractor, you may enter into a 1099 relationship, but remember that those jobs pay way over market rate since you're responsible for all taxes (employer and employee).

There's nothing real about this job; it's a scam for free labor to do an impossible task.

Just got the Rosa text. I'm looking for real work email [email protected] I'm willing to travel.

THANK YOU Everyone! I just got my 3rd text msg. from ROSA. I called back and got the man. He said he will send me a zoom code 4 hours prior to zoom mtg. 949-767-3950.and 949-732-1924. I asked what the position was. He said he really couldn't go over that but the hiring director, either Diane or Louis would be interviewing me. I get that it is a SCAM, but what are they trying to get from people? I feel eerie now that they have information on me? Can anyne tell us what they are up to? Thank You!

“Rosa” contacted me today via text message and asked if I had set up and interview. I called the number... got someone else who said they would send me email regarding the details of the position and I never received, but got a 2nd text for a zoom call meeting tomorrow. So glad I found this info! ??? I’m always surprised that people are deceitful. How do they sleep at night?

I RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE (1ST RED FLAG) FROM A "ROSA" WHO MENTIONED THAT SHE RECEIVED MY RESUME FROM CAREERBUILDERS.COM. SHE REQUESTED THAT I CALL THE NUMBER TO SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW. UPON CALLING THE NUMBER, THE PHONE WAS ANSWERED BY A TOTALLY DIFFERENT INDIVIDUAL! (2ND RED FLAG). HE INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS "SAL MARTINEZ" & GAVE A BRIEF & VAGUE JOB DESCRIPTION. HE ALSO SET ME UP WITH A ZOOM MEETING THE NEXT DAY FOR AN INTERVIEW. I PROCEEDED TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH, & AFTER SPENDING ALL BUT A MINUTE ONLINE I REALIZED THIS IS SOME FORM OF A SCAM! PLEASE BE AWARE OF SLD FINANCIAL!
