Publishers Clearing House Reports & Reviews – Page 11 (1706)

My elderly uncle who I take care of answered the phone this morning and the caller stated that he was from publishers clearing house. I picked up the phone to speak with the caller and once again he stated that he was from publishers clearing house. He had a foreign accent. He stated that my uncle had won 1.5 million dollars and that he would get $7,000 every wednesday for the rest of his ilfe, and a pearl white mercades benz car. The caller stated that he needed me to get a pen and paper to write down some information on how to claim the prize. He then proceeded to give me a ladys name that was going to be in charge of the certified cashiers check. And a mans name that was responsible for handling the $7,000 weekly. The caller gave me his name and his supposed badge number. Then he put another man on the phone who also had a foreign accent who was "the prize patrol manager". You could hear wind blowing in the background like he was outside on a cellphone. The second man said he was 30 minutes away from my house. I acted like I didn't hear him then he changed his answer to 45 minutes away. I said, what is the name of the person you are calling. He said that he would need to look that information up because the prizes drawn had been selected by a phone number. Then he came back with my uncles name and address. He said upon arrival he was going to need us to sign some papers but reassured us that it was not personal information. Then he said you know when you make a transaction over $10,000 it would be automatically audited by the government and I said correct. I asked him earlier in the call if our conversation was being recorded he said yes by the government. And asked me to repeat all the things I had written down. I could hear a strange clicking noise in the background after I repeated back what I had written down. He then said ma'am before I get to your house I need you to go to the dollar store and purchase a mastercard or visa in the ammount of $399. So when I get there you can pay your down payment on the taxes. I then proceeded to tell him I don't have any money. He kept trying to reassure he wasn't lying and Then asked me if I chose to donate the money to charity because I couldn't come up with the $399 fee. He said if you can't pay that much how much can you come up with today. If he was already on his way to our house, then why did he have to put me on hold for 2 minutes to look up our name and address attatched to our phone number. He would already have that in his gps. . He kept saying then you need to go borrow that money from someone else so you can go buy that prepaid card to pay me. This is your financial road to freedom. I argued with him and eventually hung up. Now worried what he is going to do with our phone number, address, my uncles name, and my voice repeating back to him the information that I had written down. They made it sound so real until the end I really hope this stops before any elderly person gets taken advantage of!
