I received a call at 4:20pm on Dec 30th regarding my winning the PCH sweepstakes of a million dollars and a free car. I asked him how much I had to pay up front in order to claim my winnings. He said "nothing". I said "I don't have to get a green dot card to send money? He said "no". He then started giving me my address and phone number and my full name. He had a lot of the info of my identity but when he got to needing my SS number in order to complete the paperwork and told him I don't give my SS number out to anyone especially on the phone. Before we got to the SS number request, I asked him for his phone number so I could call him back to verify his legitimacy and he gave it to me and I called that number back and he answered. I have forgotten his name but he did give me a name.

Letter from Publishers Clearing House in all black and white letter. The letter included a check for $6,769.25 addressed to my mother-in-law from OPTUMRx P.O. Box 6104 Cypress, CA 90630-0605. The check also has Wells Fargo Bank N.A. 115 Hospital Dr. Van Wert, OH 45091 on it. The routing # on the check (041203824) Acct # (29600120556). I called the Wells Fargo Bank in Van Wert and gave them the routing number they said the routing number was for Flagstar Bank. So I called Flagstar Bank and they said this was not their routing number. So I called my local Wells Fargo branch and they said it is definitely not a Wells Fargo routing number.

The letter instructs the person to "Please contact your Claim Manager without any delay BEFORE depositing this check at your Financial Institution and for further information on this prize." The total amount of the prize is $2,500,000.00 ($2.5 Million). It gives a security code - PCH-012021-WIN.

John said he was a Christian, and his father was a preacher. He said I was not to tell any of my family or friends becase God is giving me the money. I could hear someone in the background. He said he was only talking to me. He offered to let me speak to Deborah Holland, the head of Publisher's Clearing House. A guy claiming to be James Winters, from Publishers Clearing House, on a recorded line, credited by the Better Business Bureau, with three FBI Agents, claimed I won the 2nd place monthly give away of 2.5million dollars and Flat bed truck will bring my New Car, All I have to do is get a money pack green dot card and give the person contacting me the $500.00 money pack card, which will take care of the taxes and paper work and give them my ID information, and they will show up today, with my Cashiers Check for $2.5million and a flatbed with my new car. I asked why could they not take the taxes and fees out of the winnings? "No, no, this is your lucky day, you are a winner, just give us the money and you are so close... If you do not have the money, borrow it from someone..." No... Not enough credentials, taxes are taken out of any winnings you earn. Not sending money to a random person. Bring over the Paperwork, let me cash the check, and we can pop open the Champagne after.

I got a call from Dave Sayer of Ft Washington, NY saying I had won Publisher's Clearing House. He said I had won 3rd place, and a 2020 Mercedes Benz. My caller ID wireless jm 876-263-2912. He said his number was 202-855-9475. He said there would be a processing fee of $9500 which he said would have to be paid before the prize would be awarded. He asked if I was still working. He was foreign, maybe Jamaican. He became beligerant when I said it was a scam.

James Manrow from Publishers Clearing House called. He said I had won $250,00 and Mercedez Benz and Geico insurance for a year. He had an accent. He gave me an authorization number. He asked me to pay $995.22 for a registration fee. He asked if I could pay the fee and I told him no. He asked me to borrow it from my husband or a friend. I said no. He said I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to send you a check for $1000. You deposit that check into your bank, and send me the $995. He said if you are an honest lady, you'll know what to do. I said you are a scammer.

12/27/20 Received a [home] call from a man (foreign accent) introducing himself as "George Freeman" informing I had won an enormous PCH jackpot. I did NOT release any personal info although he was trying to get me to do so. Told me Monday 12/28 was going to be a BIG day for me and to stay by the phone. I refused to give any additional information citing I was skeptical. He assured me it was "real and that no one could mess it up for me" but we needed to be on the same [secret] page. (In this conversation he said a lot of other stuff including he was working with the FBI to secure my safety. Told me I had two (2) options to claim my prize - 1) bank info for [faster] electronic transfer; and 2) UPS delivery to my home by PCH Team and FBI agent. He insisted option #1 was definitely better. I told him I refused until I could verify his identity on Monday a.m. That’s when he warned me about calling PCH saying if I did, I definitely open myself to be swindled by “fake” PCH employees.

(On Monday, 12/28, I emailed PCH and response I got confirmed contact by Mr. Freeman was a fraud.)

1/1/21 - Received another [home] call from same man today at 11:05 am ET reminding me his name was "George Cooper" and that we somehow missed each other on 12/28 and he was calling to reconnect so I could claim my winnings. (My 2nd Place Publisher's Clearing House Prize is: $3.8 million + $958,000 Cash Bonus + 2021 "Pearl Red" Mercedes Benz.) He re-iterated he has been with PCH for 17 years and his Agent ID# is USA-4990. Mr. Cooper gave his phone number as 1-876-856-9854 and assured me PCH would not employ him for 17 years if he was not the real deal. Anyway, he told me to “relax my brain,” enjoy New Year’s Day and he would get everything ready for me on Monday, 1/4/21, re-stating this was going to be a BIG day for me and no one can mess it up as long as we’re on “a two-lane road” of sharing information. Conversation was recorded and I have no intention of releasing any personal information. I hope to prevent myself or anyone else from being scammed.
