I received a voice mail from an unknown number starting with hold music. And then the message this is location specialist mike mason calling you once again in reference to your pending claim. By law I have to make you aware that the filing will become public record soon. Please be available with identification at both your home and job tomorrow. If I can not locate you, a direct refusal to comply will be sent on your behalf. Every attempt to contact you has been documented the number you must call prior to being located is 877 312 1467

The call then ends.

I received a call from someone saying they're from national document services for my mother who passed away 4 years ago and the call came to my husband's phone in which he's only had for two or three years. They said they had documents that they were going to be sending her. They were asking to speak to her. I inquired about what documents they wouldn't say. And then I told them that she was had passed away, then they were trying to get off the phone quickly. I asked if I could receive the documents and they said no that it had was supposed to go to her. And I asked where they got the phone number and they wouldn't say.

The call is silenced since I enabled that feature, so I spoke with no one and they left no message. They have called several times so I looked up the phone number. It’s the sane copany the guy mentioned in his statement.

It’s annoying, to say the least.

In question: A "spam" e-mail whose Subject line is "Lottery Scandal: $1B Jackpot Won by Using Artificial Intelligence."

And making claims unsubstantiated by sound science, particularly relative to the laws of random chance and probability as govern lottery and Lotto drawings, as:

*"There is an easy way to make sure 1 in 3 lottery tickets you buy is a winning one."

*"This secret has been leaked by a whistleblower who won the lottery 18 times!"

*"Part of an underground syndicate, he's revealed a simple 'ZIP Code Hack' they use to legally 'rig' the lottery."

*"Thanks to this, their group has won over $1 billion in the last 5 years."

*"Now, with their secret exposed, they're desperate to hide it."

(The e-mail also contains a video supposedly explaining the mechanics of the "hack." As is obvious, no lottery "system" or "forecast" has been shown to have consistently high "strike rates" incompatible with officially-published odds. As well, there is concern that such may appeal to vulnerable persons seeing lotteries as a quick "ticket out" of socioeconomic privation, particularly in the prevailing socioeconomic climate.)

Person called pretending to offer SAT Prep materials which our kid supposedly signed up for at a test. He said it was free service and that we would only have to return the thumb drive. Sounded very legitimate, but our kid did not mention doing this, as I pressed on with some questions he suddenly hung up. I looked up the number and the "scam" is to ask for a deposit by credit card for the thumb drive. We did not get that far. But Verizon did not list the number as "spam" so I answered.

same happened to me a few minutes ago this morning 06/03/2026 from same phone number, 267-800-2731. I asked for more info because they call asking for me, the parent, and when I asked why is this not going through the school and I even said that it sounded like a "scam" because if they need to send any material they can just send an email, but they send a jump drive that they want back in 30 days! I went online to check the phone number and I found your comment.
