I received a "Final Notice" in the mail on paper formatted like an invoice, not on letterhead. The paper used my mortgage holder's business name in bold a couple times on the page. The paper also used many of the phishing techniques that I am aware of: terms and words to evoke a sense of urgency, emphasis to use their number instead of contacting my bank, listing the bad things that could happen if you don't follow.

At the bottom of the page in small print is "We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder."

The scammer uses data from my credit report regarding the mortgage I took out, in order to impersonate the lender and get me to do business with them. They are listing closing date, loan amount, county, lender and my name to pretend they are affiliated with the lender.

With this information, they are sending me unsolicitated, urgent looking mail asking me to call them.

Received call from 570-246-3620 by name of Ruth Reigel stating she was a supervisor for CBD Subscription and in order to cancel the subscription I must pay $198 and change or all products will come in the mail tomorrow. I told her I never subscribed to CBD subscription of any kind. She went on for 40 minutes on teh phone about the subscription and saying she has a order to deliver if not paid. I am a cancer patient and sick for 2 years, I do not subscribe to CBD. I asked for her supervisor and she said that there is no one that can change the order. I did not give her money and blocked her number, but feel other calls like these will come through.

I've been trying to reach out to you regarding your loan application, but we haven't been able to connect yet. We just need to verify if the final details mostly related to your income and if you order minor items just to complete your approval could you please return my call at 877-867-5139 it would be ideal if we could finalize this before 5 PM Pacific time today however, if you changed your mind would like to cancel your application or no longer wish to proceed. Please feel free to let us know as well when you give us a call back. Make sure to mention your application ID just for a faster process. And also just a reminder, my number is 877-867-5139.
