IRS Reports & Reviews (5101)

7 calls in 7 days. Synthesized female voice says "You have taxes due and 4 warrants are out, if you don't respond the "cops" will arrest you. Same thing, as many other people have received. The number is out of New York 518-676-7703. It would be annyoing is not so stupidly obvious. The IRS doesn't call and threaten you, the "cops" don't enforce for the IRS, the synth voice is taken from a website that demonstrates voice technology and these people obviously got their skill from a cereal box. I called them back, told them thanks for answering because I had a trap on their line, and they immediately slammed the phone down. "[censored]s at Work".

- Pensacola, FL, USA

Received automated call that I was in serious trouble and the "cops" were coming to get me in 24 hours

- Quincy, IL, USA

Criminal law suit filed against me by the IRS.

- Portland, TX, USA

The IRS fake calls are coming out again to warn people they are going to go to jail if they don't call back asap... Demanding action now. Here is the phone number from Arlington Tx coming through, 817-376-9811

- Round Rock, TX, USA

A male called on my cell phone pretending to be the IRS and I need to contact them or my lawyer does. I hung up and called back. When he answered I said the IRS doesn’t call and this is a scam. He hung up and wouldn’t pick up the phone anymore.

- Columbus, OH, USA

I began receiving calls from the IRS about two weeks ago. They leave voice mails. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. Please call us

- East Saint Louis, IL, USA

I received a call from this number, with the person on the other end pretending to be the IRS. A message was left saying that a lawsuit has been filed against me. I called the number back and a man with a foreign accent answered saying Internal Revenue Service, how may I help you. I know for a fact that the Internal Revenue Service does most of their communication by mail. When I said this to the caller, he hung up the phone.

- Rock Falls, IL, USA

I received an automated call today that stated it was the IRS calling and that a lawsuit was going to be filed against me because they had tried to reach me multiple times and I had not returned their calls. I have voice mail on my phone and I have never received any voice mails previously from the IRS with regard to collection. I do not owe the IRS money and have received tax refunds for the last several years. I believe this to be another scam call.

- Magnolia, TX, USA

Started by having an automated voice mail left. It stated that I never responded to them and there is a lawsuit out against me and my family.

I actually called the number. Someone saying he was the IRS. I did ask some questions. The guy actually gave me a case number. Said that I owe money from 2011-2015 tax returns. He could not tell me where I messed up on my return or what exact year. Then he said he would have someone come to my house with the papers and go over it with me. I told him I did not want anyone at my house. Then eventually he told me there was a federal warrant out against me. After 15 min. I told him I would resolve it out of court, then he transferred me to collections. Before I got to talk to someone there I hung up.

This guy did sound legit, and would like other people be aware of it. He did know my address.

I just received a phone call from an automated caller saying it was the IRS telling me they have filed a lawsuit against me.

I know this is fake. So I am reporting it.

A call came into my mobile phone advising me to be this the last warning about a law suit against me. I began with a small dead air buffer before the recorded message and before finishing the message again.

- Liberty Hill, TX, USA

Caller Identifies himself as, "This is the IRS...," Then states they have an active warrant for arrest, Give the number 800-291-2685 to call. I returned the call with a less-than-cordial response.

Automated service message left on my daughter's voicemail several times claiming she has "4 serious allegations under your name and you are going to be taken into police custody".

- San Antonio, TX, USA

On 11 April 2018 At Approximately 7:50 am - Received Phone Stating That The IRS Department Had A Law Suit Against Me. Phone Call

Advised Me To Call (917) 675-3448 Immediately For Details Concerning The IRS Law Suit Against Me.

- Waco, TX, USA

I received an automated voice call that said the IRS was accusing me of tax fraud and had leveled a lawsuit against me.

- Cantonment, FL, USA

Message left stating the IRS is looking to fraud you are involved in. Caller ID showed call came from Kristin Niblett

They Scammer threatened me with a lawsuit and an arrest warrant. I have the message on my answering machine.

I received 2 calls from someone posing as the IRS threatening that if I didn't call them back within a certain time that they would have the police come out to my door to arrest me. I have the phone numbers from the scammers in my call history as:

I also called the Attorney General and they said the IRS will not make such phone calls. They would not summon the police to my house. They suggested I call ScamPulse.com if I was still concerned to report this as a scam to alert others.

- Chillicothe, OH, USA

IRS called and left message stating we owed back taxes 2011 and 2012 , $2467.00. The said they were going to take a warrant for my arrest in the morning if I did not pay $500.00 immediately. First they wanted my checking account number. I would not give that to them. So, I was to send money to the above address.

This phone call sounds legit. They claim it is the IRS calling. Then they say that there are "4" serious allegations against you and that if you do not call back within 24 hrs, they can take you into custody. I received the same call about 6 months ago. I waited 6 minutes and then they hung

up the line. Is this a scam?
