I received a call on 4/13 at 9:22 a.m. CST. They left an automated message stating I was being sued and a warrant had been issued for my arrest by the IRS.

- Quincy, IL, USA

Received a phone call claiming I owe money to the IRS, and they would send someone after us, arrest us and start legal proceedings if we don't pay. I hung up, but they sound very threatening!

- Georgetown, KY, USA

I received a recorded message on my phone when I answered the phone call. They stated that they were the IRS and that they were suing me for tax fraud and I needed to call them back at this number 202-559-9296 immediately before an arrest warrant was issued for my arrest and that this was their final attempt to contact me. I did not call them back because I knew it was a scam

- Pensacola, FL, USA

they are IRS and you owing money, i told them they were scamming me and what i thought of them, then they became very upset to the point they were cussing me really bad after hanging up. they repeatedly called my number back, this went on for over a hour an half, the scammer were a man and woman that i was dealing with to try and convince me they was IRS. when i say they repeatedly called me back it was to cuss me something awful, and even said they called the law enforcement on me and IRS would get me and go to jail. these scammer are very convincing at first but don't fall for it. IRS doesn't notify you by phone, spoke to the local police office, IRS will contact you by mail or in person if they have to.

- Lafayette, LA, USA

A lady Named Linda Wilson with a foreign accent called and gave me irc number 520026 and a case number dc 96378 and said We were being investigated for income tax fraud 3 violations from 2012-2016. She indicated we had two ways to solve the problem to pay $7850.00 and I asked for documentation and she replied fine the documents would be here along with the police to arrest me, and I told her fine...

7 calls in 7 days. Synthesized female voice says "You have taxes due and 4 warrants are out, if you don't respond the "cops" will arrest you. Same thing, as many other people have received. The number is out of New York 518-676-7703. It would be annyoing is not so stupidly obvious. The IRS doesn't call and threaten you, the "cops" don't enforce for the IRS, the synth voice is taken from a website that demonstrates voice technology and these people obviously got their skill from a cereal box. I called them back, told them thanks for answering because I had a trap on their line, and they immediately slammed the phone down. "[censored]s at Work".

- Pensacola, FL, USA

Received automated call that I was in serious trouble and the "cops" were coming to get me in 24 hours

- Quincy, IL, USA

Criminal law suit filed against me by the IRS.

- Portland, TX, USA

- Round Rock, TX, USA

A male called on my cell phone pretending to be the IRS and I need to contact them or my lawyer does. I hung up and called back. When he answered I said the IRS doesn’t call and this is a scam. He hung up and wouldn’t pick up the phone anymore.

- Columbus, OH, USA

I began receiving calls from the IRS about two weeks ago. They leave voice mails. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. Please call us

- East Saint Louis, IL, USA

I received a call from this number, with the person on the other end pretending to be the IRS. A message was left saying that a lawsuit has been filed against me. I called the number back and a man with a foreign accent answered saying Internal Revenue Service, how may I help you. I know for a fact that the Internal Revenue Service does most of their communication by mail. When I said this to the caller, he hung up the phone.

- Rock Falls, IL, USA

I received an automated call today that stated it was the IRS calling and that a lawsuit was going to be filed against me because they had tried to reach me multiple times and I had not returned their calls. I have voice mail on my phone and I have never received any voice mails previously from the IRS with regard to collection. I do not owe the IRS money and have received tax refunds for the last several years. I believe this to be another scam call.

- Magnolia, TX, USA

Started by having an automated voice mail left. It stated that I never responded to them and there is a lawsuit out against me and my family.

I actually called the number. Someone saying he was the IRS. I did ask some questions. The guy actually gave me a case number. Said that I owe money from 2011-2015 tax returns. He could not tell me where I messed up on my return or what exact year. Then he said he would have someone come to my house with the papers and go over it with me. I told him I did not want anyone at my house. Then eventually he told me there was a federal warrant out against me. After 15 min. I told him I would resolve it out of court, then he transferred me to collections. Before I got to talk to someone there I hung up.

This guy did sound legit, and would like other people be aware of it. He did know my address.

I just received a phone call from an automated caller saying it was the IRS telling me they have filed a lawsuit against me.

I know this is fake. So I am reporting it.

A call came into my mobile phone advising me to be this the last warning about a law suit against me. I began with a small dead air buffer before the recorded message and before finishing the message again.
