I received a call from 520-896-4630 and they left a voicemail saying “your house now you and your physical property is under state of investigation and it is very important that we hear from you before _?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_ _?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_?_ any legal prosecution against you our department call back number with area code 520-896-4630 again the number is 520-896-4630 thank you…” when I called back they told me that this was the IRS speaking and that I owed a total of $1950.00 and needed to pay this amount within 45 minutes or a legal warrant for my arrest would be prosecuted. They then passed me to another man who claimed to be an investigator for the IRS and stated that I needed to pay this amount and I needed to leave my credit card information for them to withdraw this money in installment payments. They had my address, phone number, and email and used this information as evidence to proof they were the IRS. They later hung up after I denied to pay any money.

I have received 7 calls on my cell phone (I let them go to voicemail) from an automated recording saying that they are from the IRS regarding my recent tax filing. They said I had 4 serious allegations against me and I need to contact them or they would be contacting the local cops. I had 24 hrs to respond. They gave me a number to call. I called it and it was disconnected so I called the number back that they called me from which when answered, it was someone with a very strong accent. I asked to speak to a supervisor, the name of the person I was speaking to and where they were located. Each time, the person said they were the supervisor. One said they were located in Houston,TX and another said New York. The names they gave me were Sammy, Mike and Ricky. The more I questioned them, the nastier their responses got. They called me a few choice names. I called them several times but not from my cell number. They did know the town and address I was calling from. I didn't give them my name, cell # or any other information.

Threats because of overdue tax payments I did not answer the phone...it was on an answering machine

Irs called stating to call within 24 hours to settle tax debt,or I would be arrested this was a recording.

Caller stated my aunt (not identified) had not responded for six months. Therefore they were declaring the issue fraudulent and had been turned over to the crime investigation department and a lawsuit had been filed against me. They asked to collect personal information. When I refused they hung up.

Called 10-15 times in an hour. Been cursed out, told they were gonna *** my mom, call local police (even though I was no where near where they thought I was), told I didn't know computer science (what I'm going to school for) and would never get a legitimate job, they THEY could get me a legitimate job, then a random call that was crap English asking for money for their mom and sister from Daniel....and my name isn't Daniel.

A voicemail was left on my cell phone stating:

"evidence that I have been willful act to defraud the federal government, for the same an arrest warrant has been issued under your name, to get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our number which is 202-552-1518, I repeat 202-552-1518, thank you"

So when I called 202-552-1518 from my cell phone, I was asked to give my name so they can look up my case number. I stated I'm called because you may have the wrong number because my name was not mentioned; he aggregately insisted I give my name, I stated please may I have your name and ID number, he angrily repeated this is the IRS now give me your name! I said you are very unprofessional yelling at me, I know this is not the IRS and I hung up the phone.

Then I called the Louisiana ScamPulse.com to confirm if this was a scam attempt, so when I informed the lady she responded to me as if I was an [censored] stating, "everybody knows the IRS does not call people, I stated ma'am that is why I called to confirm, not everybody knows that about the IRS; she insisted further stating EVERYBODY KNOWS THE IRS DON'T CALL PEOPLE, I said ma'am you don't have to make people feel stupid for not knowing that of the IRS", then we hung up.

I received a phone message stating my name was involved in serious allegations and legal action would be taken if I didn’t return the call in 24 hr.

When returning the call the the person answered the phone stating IRS and asked my name and got me to say “Yes” Then hung up on me.

1st call from 206-414-3360 was an automated recording stating that IRS was looking for me and had a warrant for my arrest. The second call, from the number listed above, was a man with a strong indian accent stating the same information. Called ID said " Washington D.C"

I received a call this morning from the phone number above. They actually had the audacity to leave a message on my cell phone and a return phone number. When I called them back they did not answer the phone with a professional name and when I asked with whom I was speaking, she replied it's the IRS. I told her that this is not the IRS and this type of communication is a medium used by the IRS and that this was a SCAM. She promptly hung up on me. I called them twice again and got two additional people on the phone with exactly the same results. They speak with very prominent accents and are rude on the phone. In their voice mail they stated that there are 4 serious allegations "pressed" against my name. They suggest I call them promptly before legal action is taken against me. I didn't play along with them so they ended the call abruptly. I am a professional, in good standing with the IRS and knew immediately it was a SCAM.

Received a message from someone named Angelet Hassel claiming to be with the IRS. They said I had 4 counts against me and gave a callback # I could call. I didn't call them back but talked to the ScamPulse.com who told me it was a scam and the IRS would not be calling me.

- Columbia, SC, USA

The call came from someone stating they were from the IRS and they did an Audit of the last 5 years Tax filing and it was because an amount used to file taxes causing me to defraud the Government. Said I would be arrested if I did not resolve this matter today. The person gave his name, Rhan Austin, to mail a payment to for 2988.00 or a 2,000 fine would be charged after 5 pm and a Sheriff would be at my door to arrest me. He would not give me my address or social and that is when I figured it was a scam. I asked him to Hold and called Optima Tax Service, they told me that it sounded like a scam and that I should not give any information and report them. case no. the scammer gave to send a voucher was CN2403 and IRM786604. Said I had to get the voucher from a Family Dollar or Dollar General to send it in. I hung up.

- Euless, TX, USA

Received multiple calls from 631-609-8505 claiming to be Officer Mike Miller with the IRS and that I would be arrested today if I didn't pay them today.

- Hannibal, MO, USA

They keep calling me on the phone, saying they are investigating me for owing taxes. Since it's been 6 months with no response from me, they are filing a law suit for 'intentional tax fraud'. I do not owe any tax money and continue to hang up on them.

- Denver, CO, USA

They knew all my information i jst came back from vacation and havent had time to check the mail and got a call saying their was an warrant out for my arrest and my kids would end up in forest care or with loved ones and i would be in jail for 5 years unless I paid a certain amount which i did to stay with my kids and not behind bars. The guy was very convincing he was willing to work with me with payments.

- Georgetown, TX, USA

Voice recording claims the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me and are going to send the sheriff to arrest me and freeze my bank account unless I call about my case asap. I don't owe any taxes and haven't been notified by postal mail of any delinquent taxes. I am positive this is a scam.

- Painesville, OH, USA

I have someone from the IRS telling me that my family has committed fraud and that there is a legal warrant out for our arrest for intentional fraud and they give a Florida phone number 407-374-6906 it is a scam IRS will send you a letter.

- Green Bay, WI, USA

I received a phone call on my free government provided cellular phone, not my landline. The message said they were the IRS and there was a large error on my tax return and I must call back on the number (202) 871-2229. (I don't remember the exact words they used on the recording.) I knew it was a fake call since I haven't had to file a tax return since 1988 and I know the IRS doesn't call, they send letters. I did however call the number back and I told the male answering the phone that I had received a call regarding my tax return. I then asked him what year of return he was referring to and he then said something I could not understand. (He spoke quickly and with a middle eastern accent.) I had to ask the male person to repeat himself 3 times before I understood that it was my name he was asking for and at that point the call was disconnected by him.

Phone call saying that I owe taxes to the Department of Treasury. I yelled at the caller that he was a scammer and to stop calling people trying to steal their money. Indian sounding person was identifying himself as an IRS agent.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

At approximately 2:06 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 I received a call on my cell phone from a New York number. When I answered a recording indicated that there was a serious matter that needed to be handled with the IRS. I immediately hung up. I called the number right back and a lady answered immediately and said "IRS." I waiting a couple of minutes and called again and this time a man answered quickly with "IRS." I hung up and did not engage in any conversation. I know that I do not owe the IRS any money because I have already received my refund, but I am annoyed that this kind of scam could affect some people who might in fact owe some taxes.

I called my local ScamPulse.com and she advised me to report this call in this fashion.

BE CAREFUL AND STAY ALERT! The IRS does not contact by phone, and if anyone has ever tried to call the IRS, you would know that NEVER does anyone answer the call on the first ring.
