I did not allow the m to complete the installation and asked the representative what account number was used to pay for the service he replied that he could not give me that info. I received an invoice in my email from GEEK SQUAD informing me that in 24 hours my credit card will be charged 399.99 for annual renewal. I had this problem last year as well. The number in the email automatically hangs up when called, so I looked up the actual GEEK SQUAD'S customer service number and contacted them. I explained my situation to the customer service department that answered, and the lady on the phone stated, "it's a scam, we don't send out invoices for that."

I received an email saying it was from Geek Squad and it was time to renew my 5 yr membership for 623.99 for tech support and troubleshooting. It provided a number to call. I called and said that I never signed up for a membership. The guy said that I had to call in and cancel. Then he started instructing me to go on my computer and go to google. I told him if I want to cancel why can't he cancel from his computer not mine. He just wanted to get information off my computer. He said he will email me and cancel the subscription. Geek Squad emailed us and said that our membership will expire tonight and thus has automatically renewed.

We have not had any relationship with Geek Squad for many many years and have not heard anything at all in the

past re: membership until today, when they told us we owe the $308.49.

The heading on the email was: Thank you for your order - 9522741467

When I call the number they left, there is only one ring; then only silence. So I could not dispute this charge or anything.

At first the number didn’t ring when I called. Then I received a call from them. To which i tried to have them cancel whatever auto renewal subscription it was trying to charge me for 299.99 for. They said I would have to of had access to a computer to receive a cancellation form and they would issue a refund for that amount. I told them I didn’t have a computer they hung up.

I received a letter today in my email stating that i will be getting an recurring bill and the will be taking money out of my bank account BUT I HAVE NOT SUBSCRIBED TO OR OWE AN GEEK SQUAD, SOMEBODY IS FRAUDULENTLY USING MY INFORMATION. So when I tried to call and ask about it the guy gave me a link to go to to cancel something I never had, www.tiny.one/geek8822 and then when I tried to tell him this was a fraud and I was going to report him to the BBB, he hung up. whomever doing this used some email address with my name and this email address(see the attached document) .

The invoice was confusing because it said the purchase amount was charged and due on receipt. I spotted this as a scam because Geek Squad offers repair and tech support, not software protection.

Geek Squad Renewal

I have received 2 emails within 2 weeks, stating my Geek Squad renewal was taken out of my account. The first email was for $499.19 & the second was for $499.99. I have NEVER subscribed to or purchased Geek Squad. If responding to the emails, they have you download 2 apps, ultraviewer.net & anydesk.com so they can gain remote access to your computer & bank account(s) to unscribe you from the Geek Squad. You get black screens, a command prompt comes up where you have to enter the refund amount & all this time your bank account is open & they have remote access to your account. Well, they thought they were going to scam me & take the $499.19 out of my account & I caught them & entered $5,000 instead of $500 for my refund, then uninstalled the apps, & closed everything down, & when I checked my accounts all my money was there except the $5,000. No money has been taken out of my accounts & I have reported/forwarded the emails to my banks & the Best Buy fraud department. Best Buy has NO Geek Squad plans over $199. Do not click on any link if you receive this email.
