Called my phone talking about a fake job offer for 5500/month. Some dude with a thick accent claiming to be Shawn Travis, could've at least picked a foreign name since he can barely speak the language.

I was contacted by text message, I did not apply for any job, they just found my resume and contacted me.

The names of the people I spoke to:

“Adina” and “Caroline Foster”

They wanted me to download Telegram, do some of their test tasks, and then asked me to give them my PayPal so they can pay me… in cryptocurrency. That’s where I knew it was a scam. I have since blocked their phone numbers, and deleted my Telegram and PayPal accounts.

Stephanie reached out to me on Indeed. She directed me to download the Swipejobs app on my phone to apply for the position on an Assembly Line. I filled out all the information. ID, SS card, I9, W4 and the app was not usable at all to find employment.

They just wanted all of my personal information. So now identity theft could happen. What a world we live in…

I also put a search in on Indeed and they reached out to me about a Data Analysis role. When they sent the invite for the interview it looked off. The signature was strange and the email address didn't have the 'recruiters' name in it.

I did a search and it is clear that it is a scam.

I have not been able to contact anyone except via email, the address on google maps belong to other businesses instead of their own and I am reporting to this so I will not be scammed as well others. A person claiming to be Jean Zimmerman reached out to me via my QuickBooks ProAdvisor Profile and said their company required the service of a bookkeeper in the area of bookkeeping for a week of QuickBooks virtual training session for their new recruits. They offered to pay a very large sum of money for 5 days worth of training. There was no good contact information in any of the emails. It appears their phone number is tied to several scam attempts. The deal was too good to be true..

I was emailed by an "Evelyn Grant" after mass applying to jobs, so was not surprised to get an email about an interview for a data entry position (I had applied to data entry positions) with TriArm Therapeutics. It commenced via messaging on Microsoft Teams same day with a "Linda Evers", and I was asked a series of 5 questions with 10 minutes to answer, the usual stuff like "where do you see yourself in five years," along with other questions like what bank I used. I was given a job offer the next day, and I accepted. Then I was given a list of office equipment to purchase and issued a check for $3920 via email that I printed off for mobile deposit. That's when my Credit Union caught them. I got a call informing me that if I let this check go through, it would most assuredly bounce leaving me on the hook for whatever was purchased in the meantime. I was told that the check issuance has ties to a Chinese company with a bank account in Texas. I went back to the scammer via teams and told them my bank said the check was bad and I wanted to video call them, just for fun. They offered to reissue a check from their "alternative bank" They refused several times and are now not speaking to me. Their English was perfect and their language professional, unlike a lot of electronic scammers like bots, and I was blindsided so I'm glad my Credit Union had my back. I highly suspect the use of AI in writing responses, looking back. I do not recall a single spelling error or formatting issue in their responses, a bit too perfect. Upon searching a bit, I found the exact scam with the exact email that contacted me in the ScamPulse.com scamtracker reports.
